Over the river and through the FUN!

I hope Brooklyn's sleep buddy helps -- broken sleep is the worst!!!

I love your window decorations -- such a cute idea to do Christmas Mickey heads!

You're up early memom! Good Morning! I love Jill's idea about making a special sleep buddy! My Brooklyn has a special monster. It came with a book about Monsters in the Closet and how this monster is sweet and kind and will scare away any other monsters. It really helped her through the phase. And now she loves the Monster so much for helping her out. She takes it everywhere  Its kinda ugly but works for me! :thumbsup2

I hope you had a good night of skating. I'm going over to your report in a minute to see if you've posted anything yet.

If not, I'll assume you were

a) too exhausted

or

b)in traction. :)

I have a feeling, though, that even if you were down with casts on both legs and arms, you'd find a way to make life fun!

Any baby news this week?
For your brother, I mean. :rotfl:

believe it or not, no broken bones! i only fell twice and neither time was bad. i'm not sore yet, but when i work out my soreness doesn't usually set in until 24 hours later, so we'll see how i feel tonight! oh, and i'm uploading pictures/video right now.

no baby news other than margot is starting to turn, which means she's just about done cooking! i will probably call erica when i'm on my way up when jordan goes into labor and tell her to post something on my TR about it. i'm going to try my best to make it there for the birth but we will have to wait and see what happens because obviously these things are not very predictable! there's no way she's going to make it to her due date of april 12th though.

I made chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, and sausage for a crew of boys who had spent the night.

oh, this sounds so good right now!

I also did some fun stuff that is in pre-preparation for a fun activity we hope to be doing (and sharing with you) in late March.

can't wait to see!

They went to Build-a-Bear Workshop yesterday to let her make a special sleep buddy. The story is that whenever Brooklynn wakes up, she can grab her special sleeping friend and cuddle with it to get herself back to sleep instead of going and waking Jill up. We're hoping the idea catches on quickly, so that Jill can get a full night's sleep. Maybe she can fill us in on how it went the first night sometime today, too.

that sounds like a really good solution. i hope it works! i did the waking up thing but i was around 5 years old and i only did it at my dad's house because he made me sleep by myself. when mom and dad split up, mom started letting me sleep with her (which i know now was a bad idea). i was 4 years old. well, dad let me sleep with him too until he got married a year later and of course i couldn't sleep with him and audrey, my stepmom. so i wasn't used to sleeping by myself and would wake up every night at his house. he said some mornings he would wake up and find me sleeping either on the floor next to his bed or at the foot of the bed in between the water bed mattress and the wooden frame that held it. i can't believe i slept like that!

Hello! I've been MIA for a while knowint there was plans for a Disney trip in our near future. While I know there still isn't a plan in the works... I missed your family too much! I spent the last 24 hours catching up on your trip reports -- drooling over the treats you've eaten, admiring many little things you find along the way, wishing I had the opportunity to go shopping with your family!

I can't believe how close you are to Isabella's arrival and am loving watching Brooklynn continue to grow up. Can't wait to see her bungee jumping experience!

I really like the tee you got Brooklynn. :thumbsup2
And I thought Lexi had the most WDW tees. We gave the ones that don't fit her to a neighbour and her Mom said "you sure like to buy ALOT of Disney tees". :rotfl2: I miss those cute little tees. :sad1:

I'm looking forward to the endless meat at WLC too. Yummy!

Brooklynn is so brave to go on that jumping thing....can't wait to see pics or video. ;) She probably has the crazy hair going on. ;)

I hope the Build a Bear helps her sleeping. I had lots of nightmares as a kid and can remember sleeping in my parents room on a lawn chair... for Brooklynn.

Funny you mentioned a waterbed Punkin . I was trying to explain the other day what my waterbed was like to Lexi. She just couldn't understand how I could sleep on water. It was actually the best bed ever! My Dad made me get rid of it when I had Aaron, he was afraid he would roll betwen the bed and the wooden frame. Did your Dad's have the famous velvet trim around it? Mine was blue velvet. Classy, with blue satin sheets. :rotfl: I worked all summer babysitting to help pay for it. (I think my parents did most of the paying) Fun times in the good old 80's. :lmao:

 for going through your parents divorce at such a young age.

Your dad seems like a fun guy. I do goofy things, too, but I do them very, very quietly and I don't allow pictures to be taken. ;)

Has all of your snow melted away up there now?

He's very fun, and he's a great dad. :)

You remind me so much of my mom sometimes, it's crazy! I know that there are pictures of her on my PTR/TR, but she was just like you with having her picture taken. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that she started dealing with it, because whenever we'd go on vacation and she'd come back with pictures to show people from work, they never believed that she was there because she was never in any pictures. :rotfl2: And, like you, she'd do silly things but stop as soon as we took out the camera. Sometimes she will allow us to take pictures of her doing silly things.

Most of it has melted, thank goodness. During the winter, through April 1, we are only allowed to park on one side of the street, and the snow on that side of the street has all melted. The snow that was banked on the sidewalks and in our side yard is either gone or near gone. There's still snow, but not nearly as much as there was when we left. I would be perfectly content with no more snow.

I hope that Brooklynn's sleep buddy works!

I also love your window at Music -- the festive Mickey heads and Chip and Dale are so cute!

Oh man, Brookie's waking up in the night? :scared: I think the special sleeping buddy is a great idea...either you or Jill has to let us know how the first night with it went!

i don't remember dad's water bed, but i had one too. i think i got it when i was like 7 years old for my birthday and i kept it until high school, then i was sick of it and got a regular bed. i had rainbow sheets on mine!

i'm actually glad my parents split up when they did. i know that sounds odd but i was too young to even remember them being together. my dad and stepmom split up when my sister was 18 and brother was 15 (they're actually my half brother and sister but i consider them the regular thing!) and it was WAY harder on them because they were so accustomed to their parents being together. with me i never knew the difference. and my parents were GREAT about it. i could see either one of them whenever i wanted to and they never spoke badly about each other in front of me. we even went out on family dates every now and then! i see so many people put their kids in the middle with my job and it just kills me! i hate hearing about parents who bad-mouth each other in front of their kids - it doesn't matter what they've done to you, that's still the kids' mom/dad so they don't want to hear anything negative and they shouldn't have to. like i said, i was very lucky! ;)

Brooklynn has been dying to try the "bounce" as she calls it every time we go to the mall. She likes to sit and watch the big kids do flips and jump really high. Yesterday she asked if she could do it. We had cash, I had my camera, and we had the time to wait so we decided yes she could do it.

She took her money and waited in line to pay.

After she paid she went into the gate with John and watched the two girls ahead of her go.

Then it was her turn. They had to change out harnesses since she was so small.

Then it was time to jump. It took her a little while to get started. The guy who was running it was great as she got more comfortable he would let her go higher and as she got nervous he would bring her back down a little. She ended up way higher than I ever thought she would, but the only picture I have of her up high is just the ends of her hair at the bottom of a picture.

And of course there was crazy hair!

And then it was over.

She cried when we told her she couldn't do it again. She kept saying "but I didn't get to flip. I need to flip." We told her next time and headed to Build-a-Bear to distract her.

that is so precious!!! i love how she just sort of hangs there and every now and then her little feet touch the trampoline. she got pretty high! what a brave little girl. :goodvibes

Wow, she did wonderfully! I am impressed by how much bouncing she got in. I love her crazy hair and the fact that she really thought she needed to flip!

I hope the trip to Build-A-Bear helped!

How neat! I bet she had a blast! I can see how that would be a big hit. It looks like a lot of fun.

That video is awesome! My daughter did that same thing at the Mall of America when she was about 4 yrs old and decided than and there that she wanted to do gymnastics. She is now almost 12 and in her 7th year of competive gymnastics. Look out!

I hope Brooklyn's sleep buddy helps -- broken sleep is the worst!!!

I love your window decorations -- such a cute idea to do Christmas Mickey heads!

Especially for Jill right now - she needs her sleep.

I just wanted something simple for the window, since we were doing Thanksgiving and Christmas windows this time. We had Thanksgiving Mickey and Minnie up for the first part of the trip, and then on Friday morning Chip and Dale took over.

It could be you that's up early. Check out some of my posts and you'll see that the times are often 3, 4, and 5 in the morning - you know, when normal people are sleeping! I had a late night one night last week, and I was asleep when Trent got up at 4:20. He woke me up worried about me because I was sleeping so late!

Jill said the weird thing about Brooklynn waking up all of the sudden is that she's not saying she's scared and not wanting to get in the bed with her or anything. She just wakes up crying, and when Jill puts her back in bed and loves on her a second, she falls right back to sleep. She isn't saying anything is hurting her either, so who knows what is causing it.

that sounds like a really good solution. i hope it works!

We'll be on the lookout for baby news in the next few weeks, then.

I'm glad you made it through the skating with no broken body parts and especially with no fat globule cuts like you had recently. :thumbsup2

We have definitely missed your smiling little family picture around here! Glad to have you back! Maybe one day we'll be on a trip at the same time and can ooh and aah our way through a shop or two together.

Every once in a while someone gives Jill a bag of clothes for Brooklynn, and she's always happy to spot Disney clothes in the bunch. I don't know that she's actually had any real Disney World clothes given to her, but Disney characters will do.

How did you guess about the crazy hair??? :rotfl:

I never had a waterbed, but I had friends that did. I was always afraid of their babies rolling down into the edges, too.

He's very fun, and he's a great dad. :)

Yeah, I keep my craziness on the down-low. ;)

Jill said she woke up once, but then she heard her play the music on the little puppy that she chose. After that, she went back to sleep.

Jill, you need to show a picture of Brooklynn and the puppy in pajamas.

Oh man, Brookie's waking up in the night? :scared: I think the special sleeping buddy is a great idea...either you or Jill has to let us know how the first night with it went!

It may take a few nights, but last night, she only got up once, so we'll hope that's a good sign.

i'm actually glad my parents split up when they did. i know that sounds odd but i was too young to even remember them being together.

I see where that really could be a good thing. I was grown and Jill was a baby when my mother announced she was leaving my dad. A lot of the things she said in the following months just kind of killed/nullified etc. what little feelings I had about the family I thought I had. We weren't close anyway, but I at least didn't need to hear that she supposedly had never wanted to marry him, never loved him, etc. Things that she did even following that made it best for me just to remove myself from dealing with her at all.

What a brave girl!!! Love the crazy hair!

It looks like she's been rubbing a balloon over it. :)

that is so precious!!! i love how she just sort of hangs there and every now and then her little feet touch the trampoline. she got pretty high! what a brave little girl. :goodvibes

I was wondering if she was just going to hang there, and then up she went! She kind of got a scared look for a second when it went way high. I'll have to get her version of the experience when I talk to her on the phone.

Wow, she did wonderfully! I am impressed by how much bouncing she got in. I love her crazy hair and the fact that she really thought she needed to flip!

I hope the trip to Build-A-Bear helped!

She's always saying she 'needs' to do something!

She ended up with a puppy, and Jill said she got jammies, since it was a sleeping pal. I think she said they were Hello Kitty pajamas. I told her to get a picture and share with us.

I will have to get it later tonight. She is currently sleeping on my lap. Every once in a while Isabella kicks hard enough for her to feel and she readjusts herself. I'll post later tonight.

Wow, what a brave little girl AND a brave little Mommy. Brooklynn did great and I'm glad that you shared it with us.

Oh how cute!! What a brave little thing she is! I'm glad she enjoyed it!

I too had a water bed when I was younger!! I was about 9 and we had to put the bed rails on the side to keep me from slipping out of it! It was a sort of dusty-rose velvet. I loved it so much and it was nice and warm. But, in the end, my dad was convinced I would either puncture it, fall out, or ruin my spine, so I was convinced to get a canopy "princess" bed instead. Too funny!

MeMom, love your window at ASMu, looks so cute!

Way to go Brooklynn jumping on the "bounce"   She did such a good job!

I hope Brooklynn's sleeping buddy helped her sleep through the night. When I was a little bit older than Brooklynn I had a SERIOUS sleeping problem. Very very hard times for me and for my parents. I would sleep about 3 hours out of the night because I was scared to go to sleep for whatever reason. There was really nothing for me to be scared about at all! So I hope that her sleeping buddy will help her and you, Jill. :)
