Over the river and through the FUN!

Oh, I may have to borrow the World Showcase party idea! Too fun!!! It would give me an excuse to go to World Market more often!

What a great WS dinner party! How did you find Kringle? :thumbsup2

You had my two favorite mice watching over the bakery items. ;)

Declansdad I wanna bring the Kraft dinner, ketchup chips and Smarties too!

The WS character collection is adorable. Did they come in a set or did you have to buy them all seperate?

No, we don't drive straight. I've only done that once and hated it. I will usually drive 15 to 16 hrs the first day (5am to 9pm) and then get a hotel. Sleep and then drive the last 8hrs. It's too bad, but we don't come threw TN. I would love to meet you. :)

that looked like fun, when can I stop by for a party like that?

Goodness MeMom, your world showcase dinner sounds like so much fun!! I am aching for WDW today, maybe I should put something like that together.

Go Canada! You rocked that meal!

Having the parties, meals, or activities is a fun way to get a little touch of Disney in when you're missing being there!

what a fun theme for a dinner party! Your pictrures can be the inspiration !

I probably will do at least one good WS meal before our summer trip. Maybe I can get a little more creative with it, but right now, I didn't have the money to put into anything better. I can't wait to see all the great Flower & Garden Festival stuff in March, because there will be many pictures to be taken then!

Those are some great pictures... I wan to have a world showcase party. it sounds like a lot of fun!!

You can have a World Showcase party. Just let us know when it is, and we'll all be knocking on your door!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love the idea of the World Showcase meal! That might have to take over for my movie night themes for a while... I LOVE making recipes from around the world and just made the Le Cellier cheese soup for the first time- it was a huge hit! The pics of your gathering are so great and I can only imagine how much fun it would have been!

Maybe you can bring some things back from your trip that you can use when you have your future 'missing Disney' parties. You are going to have such a good time, and you will definitely have a lot of 'missing Disney' days when you return. The only way to remedy that is to have the special things at home and be planning your next trip!

Wow I love the monthly WS meal idea!! I might steal it from you :scratchin

You don't have to steal. I'll share!
(See the response to Charleston Princess.)
I'm sure you and your friends would enjoy an awesome evening in Japan or Morocco or Italy or France or any other WS country. Just think of all the great fun you could have with the decor and the meals!

Love the World Showcase meal pictures. The food looks so good. You come up with the most creative ways to keep the Disney Magic alive at home!

I enjoyed seeing pictures of some of your ornaments. Our tree was mostly Disney this year. I had Hannah's ornaments on the tree too.

My tree is a mini tree - a four footer sitting on the table, but it works for us! It doesn't take a lot to fill it up with ornaments. Since I don't have little kids around all the time and Santa doesn't need a big tree to put things under here anymore, it's just nice to be able to put that one out and then put it back up without a lot of hassle.

Jill and I enjoy the Disney fun. The boys enjoy making fun of us, yet they are quite happy to eat the Disney food!

Hi Memom:

I'm still working on catching up, but I wanted to let you know that I'm in your lovely state right now. We're staying in Pigeon Forge for a few days. The girls are swimming and DH is working puzzles and I'm gonna DIS for a few minutes.

The weather here is beautiful!! Its in the mid 50's and sunny and clear. I love it. We're having so much fun. Just wanted to say Hi. Now I'll go back and read some more. I'm enjoying your report so much!

Cathy

I'm glad you are enjoying our state. I bet it's very pretty up there right now with all the Christmas decorations. I'm glad there is decent weather. Enjoy your fun and relaxing time together!

That World Showcase meal looks soooo good! You really come up with the best ideas MeMom, it must be the mother/teacher in you. And I really like your collection of plushes from the countries, too cute! :cutie:

Yeah, I pretty much have a third grade mentality. While my students are at home right now playing with all of their new toys, their teacher is at home playing, too! I'll be just as weepy as they are when it is time to hit the books again!

Sorry MeMom, we only had a 7 foot tree this year; it wouldn't make much of a fence. Don't you worry, I'll have that saw going soon. :goodvibes

Great to see Canada carried the day for the World Showcase Dinner. Next time we will send you some maple syrup, fiddleheads, poutine, and some dulse.

I'll take the maple syrup, but you can keep the rest! That poutine stuff....GROSS!!! That looks horrible! French fries, gravy, and cottage cheese - sounds like something a pregnant woman would be craving in the middle of the night!

The maple syrup - yes. Put me down for that as my Canada souvenir whenever you drive through Tennessee someday!

The syrup and the fence! ;)

LOVED the world showcase meal!!!! great stuff. can i move in with you? what if you let everyone move in with you that asked - i wonder how many DISers you'd be housing???

If everyone chipped in with the house payment, I would have more fun money, so come on down!

Or up, in your case.

Maybe someday, when these boys have their own homes and families, I'll run a Disney bed and breakfast!

Oh, I may have to borrow the World Showcase party idea! Too fun!!! It would give me an excuse to go to World Market more often!

Now, see, that's more like it. You want to borrow. Philadisney wanted to steal!

You really could do up some great parties, if you had the means, but all of my meager means right now are going to go toward my trips, so my parties are going to be a little weak for a while, I'm sure!

Great Update! Your World Showcase Party looks like it must have been fun!

Brooklynn and I had fun making the moose. The others had fun laughing at the moose!

What a great WS dinner party! How did you find Kringle? :thumbsup2

The Kringle was at Kroger.
Isn't that just krazy that I found it right when I needed to be kreative?

You usually can't trust mice in a bakery, but those are two of the finest, most trustworthy mice I've ever known.

You guys can come to the next party, but keep that poutine stuff at home!

You buy the plush dolls seperately. They're all around Epcot. I have not seen a doll from Morocco, though. I think the Moroccan pavilion does have some different rules than the other countries, though, because of their government having more control over it. I don't know whether they just don't wish to participate in that aspect, or whether I have just totally overlooked there ever being a Moroccan doll. I don't have all the countries, but I do have most of them. I'll try to complete the collection this year, and I may ask about the Moroccan dolls when I am there. I'd like to take the guided tour of Morocco that is free of charge. Maybe that is something Kay and I might do in March. She might find it interesting, as well, and it would be a good thing to do with just grown-ups.

that looked like fun, when can I stop by for a party like that?

I'll let you know when the next one is. What New York specialty will you be bringing?

Maybe someday, when these boys have their own homes and families, I'll run a Disney bed and breakfast!

That is an AWESOME idea. Can you imagine those of us from the midwest stopping 1/2 way to Florida at MeMoms Disney B&B? A little touch of Disney before arriving and a little more to help us ease back into "real" life. it!

That's a good way to meet lots of other crazy/nice people. :)

Here is the last little taste of Christmas with our World Showcase meal, and then we're headed back to the report.

Brooklynn holds up another Disney t-shirt.

She opens a bag that has matching outfits and a couple of other clothing items for her and Isabella.

Another Disney Store find. I've seen that some other Disers got these for their kids this Christmas, too.

Brooklynn was spreading it out on the ground and telling Ben to come lay on it.

Ben did not cooperate. He was too busy looking out the window at the dogs across the street.

And now, we will head back to Main Street and The Emporium.

I think I stopped with picture frames.

I bought a couple of ornaments here, and I did get Erica's castle throw. I had it all sent back to the room and continued on.

Awwww, looks like Brooklyn got lots of nice Disney goodies!!!!
Jill looks so cute with that little belly poking out!

So are mine -- now that the holidays are almost over (we are having my in-laws over for New Year's Eve fonduing and then my parents over New Year's Day for Hoppin' John), my saving for Disney World is going to kick into high gear. We'll be doing lots of cheap and/or free things to amuse ourselves.

Is that John all wrapped up in the pretty Disney throw in the pictures? :rotfl:

Hi Memom,

I haven't checked in for a while so Congrats on the new March trip, please let me know how the Flower Show time is since I want to do a trip with just my mom for it soon.

Have a Healthy and Happy New Year!!

Maybe someday, when these boys have their own homes and families, I'll run a Disney bed and breakfast!

oh, that sounds like a WONDERFUL idea! i'll just retire from court reporting and come up and help you run it! we can make ray cook. :rotfl2:

loved the christmas pictures. too funny that john is all cuddled up under the disney blanket!

I think this is exactly what I'll end up doing. I already know the majority of my souvenir money is going to end up in World Showcase... and I'm crossing my fingers for a bounceback offer when we go for our first trip next month so I can be planning trip #2 to help ease the PAIN! ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: You got me - I guess I get a little greedy when it comes to all things WDW  Imitation is the best form of flattery, right? ;)

By the way if you set up that Disney B&B I would drive down to WDW for the first time just to stop there!

She did.
Is that the same blanket Hollie got? They're so soft!

The church is having a hoop-de-do, but I'll be spending a quiet evening at home. I don't like to be out on the streets at night.

Yes, John was trying to aggravate Brooklynn, but she wasn't paying any attention to him. There were still presents to open!

I love this picture frame! I would look really cute on my desk at school with pictures of my kids in it....I'll have to look for it!

Jill's little belly is so cute!

That would be a great frame for the kids' pictures. I may have to get one, too, since I'm about to have another little face to photograph.

Hi Memom,

Have a Healthy and Happy New Year!!

I will take a lot of pictures. Last year, we were only there for a couple of hours. This year, I hope to get in two Epcot days, so I'll do much better.

If you are interested, though, go to the Baby and the Tramp report and there are some F&G pictures from last year on pages 124-126.

oh, that sounds like a WONDERFUL idea! i'll just retire from court reporting and come up and help you run it! we can make ray cook. :rotfl2:

I'm happy to do the cooking. It's the dusting and vaccuming that I'm not so crazy about! I'm sure we can put Ray to good use, though! Fix us up a website, maybe, and keep the landscaping pretty. I remember how nice you guys made your yard look last year. Hmmmm....

I think this is exactly what I'll end up doing. I already know the majority of my souvenir money is going to end up in World Showcase... and I'm crossing my fingers for a bounceback offer when we go for our first trip next month so I can be planning trip #2 to help ease the PAIN! ;)

You can find some not so expensive things, if you spend time looking. In Morocco, you can get a good sized piece of tile that could be used for lots of different things, like maybe a dish trivet, for about two or three bucks. Japan has the little kitties that are good luck - they come in different colors and stand for different types of prosperity. They're cute, and the small ones are cheap. You could even make a game of it with the kids to find an item from every country for less than $5-$10 to bring back to remember the trip with.

I hope that bounceback works out for you!

We'll let you know when we get it set up. Might even send you a discount code! :rotfl:
I've gotta get Ray out in this yard, you know! ;) Funny thing is, he's out there working somewhere today and has no idea what plans Dawn and I have up our sleeves for him.
Poor guy!

These banners hung over the counter where I checked out in The Emporium.

I got a picture of some dear friends.

IMG_0291.jpg

They both said to tell you all they can't wait to see you again!

Goofy was pondering all of the beautiful new Christmas decorations.

IMG_0292.jpg

I saw a little of the castle show.

IMG_0294.jpg

See the pretty blue sky behind the castle.

IMG_0296.jpg

I love seeing the princesses and their fellows dancing around.

IMG_0299.jpg

IMG_0300.jpg

It kind of looks like Snow White is doing the 'down came the rain' part of the Itsy Bitsy Spider song.

IMG_0301.jpg

I just snapped a few pictures from afar and went on with my wandering.

I love this picture frame! I would look really cute on my desk at school with pictures of my kids in it....I'll have to look for it!

Jill's little belly is so cute!

I just checked in on your blog to see if you had Christmas pictures up, and I saw the news about your spinout. I've been there - hit in the side by a teenage driver and spun around, but I didn't miss the phone pole! You guys were very lucky, and you're very blessed to all be happy and healthy and together today. I imagine that made Christmas just a little extra special, huh?

*********************

If anyone is interested, there's a Diser with a webcam outside his Poly Hawaii room. It's pointed at the castle, so you can see live fireworks tonight. Just go to the Resorts Board, then to the Resort Photos section, and look for the post that says Polynesian Webcam Up and Running and click on the link in the first post. Yesterday, he and his family were actually answering questions that people were typing on the screen, so it was kind of cool.

Those pictures just warmed me up as I sit here tonight listening to the cold wind howl outside! Your pictures make me feel as if I'm there!

Go over to that website and you can sit out on the Poly Beach with us and watch 11:50 New Year's practice fireworks!

Dave says it's cold. Bring a blanket!!! :)

twob4him and punkin - I'm there, just not typing on the thing! Isn't it awesome! Dave and his family are so nice!

I was so scared and shook up. Luckily Owen slept through the whole thing! Sorry you didn't fair so well!

I just finished putting up ALL the Christmas pictures on the blog. There was a bunch! Yes, I felt very lucky this year!
