Over the river and through the FUN!

What a crazy last few days. Work, grocery shopping, work and then some christmas shopping. I missed you all!

Friday night I got home at 11:00pm and then make a cake for a co worker. It took me about 2hrs to do (it was a crown and I made it very fancy) It was her last day of work before she takes Maternity leave. We decided to do a "princess for a day" theme. We did a basket with a robe, slippers, tea, foot care kit, various bath stuff and candles. I made a wand out of a long handled bath puff and we gave her a mini tiara. Something different instead of the typical baby shower since this is her second baby. We ordered in pizza. Not very princess like but, Yum!

Work has been a zoo, we had a snow/ice storm Wednesday and we also have a city wide bus strike. :headache: So that meant the last couple of days were very busy! Only a few more weeks left. :santa:

I fell asleep earlier this evening while watching a movie with Lexi and now I'm here at 2am wide awake. :confused3

No warning about "that" scary pic  Shame on you, I am tramatized for life...I will have trouble getting back to sleep. Now I know how punkin feels when you show a pic of birds.

I'm so glad you had lots of great parade pics, I was looking forward to seeing them. :thumbsup2
I still can't get that first vision out of my head. Brooklynn is right, the Cricket is soo much better. ;)

In the morning we are going to the USA. Walgreen's here I come, I hope they have some of those Mickey trees left. :wizard:

Trip report 3 is another fun read to look forward too on cold winter days and dream of Disney. :surfweb: Once again I love all of the pictures. :cloud9:

I have great news I leave for Disney on Jan 3rd to spend three action packed days, with my dh family. I wish it was a longer trip but I will take what I can get. All adults in the group so wild rides here I come.

I will be thinking of you next week as the kids are getting ready for their break from school, and getting more excided each day.:santa:

That's exciting! I'd love a three day Disney fix before hunkering down for the winter!

Honestly, I'd love a three day Disney fix about once a month.

The kids were already getting wired up, because we had a Christmas program Thursday. Our middle-school buddies were scheduled to come Friday with presents and snacks, but our snow day messed that up. We're going to have to reschedule that for this week around their exams. This week, they get out early on Friday, so between their older buddies, our own class parties, a half-day on Friday, and a visit from Santa, who gives them a big bag of candy, fruit, and small toys, teaching is going to pretty much be a lost cause. Since we already know that, we try to just take this rare opportunity to do some fun things with them. We've got some good holiday worksheets, and we'll play Christmas music and read Christmas stories throughout the week. Most of this week will be about containing their excitement and keeping them in some semblance of order.

Well, you are 10 pages in, but I'm here finally! Better late than never, right? :goodvibes

This made me laugh out loud!! :) :) Oh no, Mr. Nice CM, this is Brooklyn's 87th trip, you see she belongs to a Disney-Crazed family!!!! ;)

ASM looks so pretty! I love the tree.

Great picture! I love all the pool shots, so beautiful.

Yes, I did! Was it just how you happened to catch her, or was she like that the enitre parade? I hope it was just how you snagged the picture...

Looking forward to more! And I agree with everyone, Jill's baby bump is very cute. Pregnant woman are BEAUTIFUL!

Well, at ten pages in, you don't get any prizes. Go ask all the people on the first few pages what they got!

All the trees down there were so cool. A lot of people are talking about how many fewer decorations were up all through the resorts and parks, and that is probably true, because they're cutting costs like everyone else, but I really didn't pay so much attention to that. I was excited about the things they did have. It's a lot more than I have in my house, so it worked for me!

I can't say about the CMs. I didn't pay any attention to them. I probably just caught her at a bad second. I just noticed it when I put the picture up and thought it was interesting. Video would have told a better story. I planned to video it, but we were already later than we had planned - I was just too excited to get going, and I forgot all about it.

Thanks for the fun update MeMom! In all the times I've been to AK I still haven't managed to see one of their parades!!! Not one! Which is odd because I love parades! Thanks for letting me see it through your eyes! :)

Put it on your list. It's fun!

I wonder what that CM is thinking about? U are in a parade lady...at the front no less...focus...smile

In all fairness, I probably just caught her at a bad second in time.

That party sounds like a great idea! I'm sure she loved it! The mommy needs some pampering before she faces taking care of two little ones.

A bus strike would wreak havoc around here! I pass a ton of people waiting for the buses as I drive to school every morning. That plus snow and ice would just be devastating to a lot of people.

What movie did you girls watch? I started watching "It's a Wonderful Life" yesterday, but got sidetracked while cleaning. I had a really good cleaning day, so I'm happy with what I got accomplished. Having that snow day Friday just seemed to give me so much extra time. I've always said a three day weekend would be perfect - one day for church, one day for must-do things, and one day to rest.

I thought about getting out to shop yesterday, but the cleaning was a much better idea. I'll probably get out this morning before church and before crowds to go to Walmart for what few groceries I need. One day after school, when I'm already closer to the mall, I'll probably do one last sweep through there. Drew wants a new camera, so we have to shop for that sooner or later. I'm sure I'll have to make one more trip to the Disney Store before Brooklynn comes next weekend. There could be something she just has to have! ;)

Good Morning from the World MeMom! I hope all is well in your part. I'm up early this morning because they decided to cut the grass on the golf course outside my room at 5am.:scared1: I'm enjoying your pictures of Animal Kingdom, since this is where we will be going in a few hours. Brooklyn looks so cute waiting for them to sign her book. Well, hopefully I can come back on her this afternoon, before heading to MVMCP. Have a Happy Sunday!

OK, I just have to say, this sounds like an AWESOME party. How fun!

I was at our local Walgreens yesterday and they had lots of them. Hope you find one

we went to 3 Walgreens yesterday in Baltimore area. No Mickey or Minnie trees - just Pooh trees. We really wanted Mickey or Minn. :santa:

Plus, there was a giant Castle. I don't think any of us having anything quite like that in our house! ;)

Just another reason to go back. :goodvibes I still haven't seen that parade. In 2006 we were on the Rafiki float, so we kinda saw it standing on the sidelines backstage as the floats came in, and this past year our minds were elsewhere that day, I completely forgot about it. I think Henry would love all the colors and music, I am going to try to see it next month!

Hi Memom and Jill and gang!!!
Great pics from the parade!! That was a great idea to stand just beyond the bend because when you took the shots of the parade vehicles you could see the sides and front too! Did you plan that??? In any case, I am amazed at all the decorations....and the grouchy cm...:rotfl: How warm was it at that point...do you remember? I am longing for warmth as well....each winter I enjoy it less and less and less. ;)

What a cute and thoughtful idea for a "baby shower" and maternity leave party. I bet she was so happy! Sorry about the ice storm. I just read about one disser who is quite concerned that her pipes will freeze during the power outage and 18 F degree weather. I hope you have power at least! :goodvibes

I will have to see if Walgreens has a little tree for us. The girls want a tree in their room and what better than a Minnie or Mickey one :dance3:

Have a peaceful and wonderful Sunday everyone! :thumbsup2

Great parade pics MeMom. :thumbsup2 I love the shot of Stitch. He is always so much fun to watch.

Hanging out on the couch watching Christmas movies sounds like a good thing to be doing when you don't feel well. Make sure you are taking extra good care of yourself and that baby!

Does 'that baby' have name choices yet? Just think, next year, you'll be watching Rudolph and Frosty with your little one in your lap. That will be the greatest!

I hope you can do something fun on a sad day. I know she would want you to do that as a remembrance of happy times in the past that she shared with you.

Trent made a comment once that he could never go to Disney World again if something happened to me, and I immediately told him he has to go when I'm gone, because I'll be right there with him, with them all, in spirit. I told him I'd be disappointed to know he didn't go and continue on the fun!

Baby names? Yes we have lots!!! More for a little girl as I am convinced now that we're having a little girl.

Our favourites are:

Boy... Olly Jack XXXXXXX and Toby George XXXXXX (Jack is after Rich's Grandpa, George is after mine). I also LOVE the names Noah, Milo, Oscar & Jacob but Rich is yet to be convinced!

Girl... Olivia Beth Linda XXXXXXXXXX and Jessica Beth Linda XXXXXXX. I also love Alice and Maisy and Rich's favourite girls name is Daisy Beth XXXXX (no Linda) but I don't think it goes with our surname! (Beth is a name we love for a middle name and Linda is Rich's Mum's name so if she's a girl, she gets two middle names bless her!)

Today was a lovely day, in fact our whole weekend was lovely - one of the nicest in ages! Saturday we did the last of our Christmas shopping at a huge shopping centre in a town / city (not sure!) called Reading. We then went over to my sister's and saw her and her family and watched the X-Factor final show together. We cried at the result! Well my sister and I did! I normally watch the final with Mum but she is currently shopping til she drops in Boston!

This morning, we went to a church service at Guildford Cathedral (we live near Guildford in Surrey and I work in the town). I have never been to the Cathedral before and it was lovely - the service was also beautiful. Rich found it a great comfort and felt it was a lovely way to think of his Mum today. Afterwards we went to a local farm shop and stocked up on some Christmas food goodies - then we've spent the afternoon relaxing, watching TV and playing with the cats!

Sorry I rambled a lot there! I am off to read your updates now!!!

I have returned from shopping and I do not have the Mickey tree. :sad1:
They were sold out. Maybe next year. :sad1: I guess I could drive to kshafer's house since she has lots there. :lmao:

I do hope some of you will have better luck! :)

MeMom The movie we/ Lexi watched was Horton Hears a Who? I will have to watch it another time because I saw maybe 10 mins of it. :rotfl2: We already watched the required Frosty, Rudolph, Grinch and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. And Santa Clause I & II. :santa: We still have many more to watch like Christmas Vacation.

Thanks for all the responses about the party, she was thrilled and she deserved it because she always puts herself last after her DD & DH. (don't we all) :rotfl:

twob4him We are used to the storms, somehow we manage to get to work. I have never had my pipes freeze yet. I didn't loose power either so I can't complain. :)

I'm off to my work Xmas dinner tonight.

What great parade pictures!!! Oh boy, Chad would pass out waiting in line to see Jiminy with a snake in there! He is so scared of snakes!!! He saw the picture and he said to me, "You and Hollie would have fun in there while I waited outside!!" lol!

Yeah, you did okay. That's funny that I was taking pictures. You caught me in a rare moment. :)

Sorry to hear the guys got sick. Somebody had a thread about a stomach bug that was going on down there, but my cold just traveled with me from here to there and back again.

When will you guys be going back to Disney World?

They are finally almost back to normal. :)

Right now, it looks like 2010 unless I can convince DH to go in the Fall 09 or I might do a trip with my mom in Sept 09 for my bday. Still waiting to see what deals come out for the fall.

Yea!! I found you!!! :yay: I followed the bread crumb droppings MeMom left on the "Magic Camel" :woohoo:

Jill,,Congratulations on the new baby girl!!!!! :cheer2:

I`ll be back later to catch up! gotta order a pizza!!!

MeMom you might just get you another snow day tomorrow??!!?? :dance3:

I'm hoping if it does anything that it will just be bad enough that we won't have to go anywhere . I enjoy the snow but I hate having to make that decision or get out there with all the other crazies to slip and slide :scared1:

How nice to hear from someone live from Happy World! I hope you had a great day at Animal Kingdom. Dawn was there, too.

OK, I just have to say, this sounds like an AWESOME party. How fun!

That baby shower was very creative. There are so many kind and creative people around here.

we went to 3 Walgreens yesterday in Baltimore area. No Mickey or Minnie trees - just Pooh trees. We really wanted Mickey or Minn. :santa:

Sorry you didn't find your tree. Maybe by the time you find one, it'll be half price! I got a couple of half price items today that I was very pleased with. It was my reward (?) for waiting until almost Christmas to get this house decorated.

Plus, there was a giant Castle. I don't think any of us having anything quite like that in our house!

I also like to get at the bend over across from the Liberty Bell in Magic Kingdom. I can get a lot of angles on the shots.

It was in the high 70s to low 80s every day we were there. The mornings were cool, though.

See, that's why I like girls! They want decorations in their rooms. I had to sneak lights on the boys' windows while they were gone. ;)

Great parade pics MeMom. :thumbsup2 I love the shot of Stitch. He is always so much fun to watch.

Thanks, Dad! It's always nice to get a thumbs up from one of the masters.

I would love to see the inside of that beautiful church.

Is your family begging you to find out what the baby is? I think Olivia is a very pretty name, and I would vote for Noah for a boy. You could give the boy two middle names, too, after the two grandpas. It would be sad to leave one out. Look at how many names princes have - like William Philip Arthur Louis or whatever that one is.

I have returned from shopping and I do not have the Mickey tree. :sad1:

I'm off to my work Xmas dinner tonight.

Frozen pipes are no good! My dad always told me to leave the water dripping on extremely cold nights. The plumber says that probably doesn't do a thing to help, that the warmth of the house keeps them from freezing, but I still do it anyway. I've done it for over thirty years. If I missed doing it once now, that would be the one time my pipes would freeze.

How was your work dinner?

What great parade pictures!!! Oh boy, Chad would pass out waiting in line to see Jiminy with a snake in there! He is so scared of snakes!!! He saw the picture and he said to me, "You and Hollie would have fun in there while I waited outside!!" lol!

I figure the ones that are out doing shows are out because of their good behavior. I assume the scarier ones are left in their cages. If any of them ever prove me wrong, then I'll be a little more cautious.

Seriously, if you want one, PM me and I will get one and send it to you.

Such nice Disers we have!

They are finally almost back to normal. :)

A girls trip for your birthday sounds fun!
But then again, so does a fall trip with DH.
And a summer trip with the kids.
And a spring break getaway.
And any other day, week, month, holiday, or reason you can come up with.
They're all fun!

Yea!! I found you!!! :yay: I followed the bread crumb droppings MeMom left on the "Magic Camel" :woohoo:

Jill,,Congratulations on the new baby girl!!!!! :cheer2:

I`ll be back later to catch up! gotta order a pizza!!!

Dropping bread crumbs?
It is clearly marked on the report that it was started by Brooklynnsmommy.
Which means it's our report.
Until Erica snatches it away from us!!! :rotfl:

I like ham and pineapple or mushroom.
Papa John's or Pizza Hut.
Thanks for ordering!

I heard that this afternoon. That would be unreal.
Since we just had a break and are just about to have another one, I'd be happy to space the rest of them throughout January and February. I've gotta talk to Lelan about doing a better job of working this all out right! :)

 Your funny!! As it turns out,,I ordered Ham and pineapple from Pizza hut. stuffed crust. now I`m stuffed....if only you could help me to get my 5th grader to do his math homework...:headache:

I've gotta talk to Lelan about doing a better job of working this all out right! :)

Yea really :lmao:. And I need to talk to him about the fact if it's going to actually do something just make SURE I don't have to go to work. That would be much nicer .

Now I know you will also be discussing with him that you can't have to many b/c then you would have to work to many days over into the summer :headache:

I hope that you get another snow day! How awesome would that be?! There hasn't been anything in our area yet. There was the ice storm around western MA a few days ago, but today it was in the 60's.

I meant to tell you this--I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was talking to you either on here or on the phone about where I live, but somehow it was in relation to Disney World! I was trying to explain some part of Boston to you (which isn't where I live, I only live near it), saying something about, "when you're on the bus to MGM," and I was on a Disney bus going by the Union Oyster House in Boston, and past Fanuiel Hall. Then I was at some weird Epcot/AK crossover, which looked like something that I had dreamt about before, and talking about going on a ride that scared the crap out me before, which doesn't actually exist, but that also happened to be in a dream that I had a while ago!! Really, I think it's top on the list of my most random dreams, and that's saying a lot b/c I have had some doozies. :rotfl:

It's time for the Jingle Jungle Parade!

funny.....seems like i just saw this. maybe because 29 hours ago....I DID!!!! ;)

This guy got much applause.

The guy who gets the credit for making him so fun.
He was very personable with the audience and very animated with the monkey.

IMG_0100.jpg

we saw the same guy yesterday and he was awesome. he picked a "bug" out of the hair of the woman sitting next to me and ate it.
