We are less than two months out and are so excited over our WL/Christmas trip. All the big planning is done. Resort set, PS's made, MVMCP tickets bought and matching shirts orderd. Now the problem. I over plan everything. I do indeed print out that computer packing list, have clothes out weeks ahead, buy all the cute disney extras, and all the special breakfast foods for breakfast in our room.
This year there will be no time to get it all done!!! A job change means I have to work extra hours the week before to have things set for my week off, a return to school means that I have a paper due while I am gone that I have to finish before we can go, and because it's the Pre-Christmas season I have shopping and social obligations too. Way to much, with way to little time.
I am thinking of just winging the rest of the planning!! Take just what we must have to get by, packing the night before after I wash clothes, forgetting breakfast in the room and splurging for breakfast at the resort each day and just forget all those little extra treats.(Except my Disney Christmas Tree). What do you think? Has anyone done this? Did you stress over what you forgot or just get over it and have a blast?

Counting down and trying not to stress.

Sounds like you've got the most important things done ... are you getting a rental car? If so, I'd say go ahead and wing it ... if you forgot to pack something there's a Super Wal*Mart in Kissimmee on Rt. 192.

Just DON'T forget your id's and camera!

Yep! Many have done this and survived - AND have had a wonderful time! Chances are, being the planner that you are, you will not forget much. But if you do, someone once said that WDW is not on a deserted island. You can buy ANYTHING that you need at the parks or nearby. You will be fine. AND you will have a wonderful time!

Just enjoy your countdown and don't stress. :)

Winging it???? AAAAAckkkkkk

:faint:

but then....I'm an admitted overplanner!!!!

:)

You can always go to one of the grocery stores close by to pick up breakfast foods.

I find that sometimes my "overplanning" makes the trip a little less enjoyable for the rest of the family. Maybe you should consider your overly-busy schedule to be a blessing and find out how the other side (people who wing it) vacations at Disney World?!?!?! I'm always tempted to do that, but then I usually chicken out. We did do lots of "change of plans" on our last trip, though, because DD6 got sick and we had to go to the clinic and then slow down for a few days. Just keep breathing and smiling!

Thanks you guys!! I found out today I have to work 1/2 day the day we are leaving so it will be quite busy. My wonderful DH however offered to take 1/2 a day also so he could help out. I will do everything I can the week-end before, wash clothes the night before(we don't have enough clothes to wash ahead ) and let the rest go. Once we are there the stress will be forgotten. And as someone said. There is nothing that I can't buy at WDW if I need it!!!!

Just think how much faster your count-down clock is going to move being so busy, I think you are going to enjoy your trip so much better now. all your main planning is done and let the magic wash away your stress. Have a wonderful trip. We are coming down the week following Christmas. I can't wait!
