Over budget even with DDP?

Have you looked at the Quick Service Dining plan? You wouldn't have to worry about tips then.

Unfortunately the QSP is the most difficult to get a value on and without specialty places for meals well over $10, it's even more difficult unless you add in the value of the mug. Cosmic Ray's combo plate (Dinner only I think), Frenchquarter combo (also dinner only), WPE, Pepper market and the places that allow a whole pizza with 2 Drinks/desserts are most of the places you can get your value. Talking adult meals of course, kids are a totally different ballgame in general.

We find that we don't normally order appetizers, just because of the amount of food at table services. Or just one person will get one and we'll split it to get a taste. Now, as far as alcohol goes. We normally will grab some while we are at Downtown Disney at a gas station, (6 pack or 12 pack of something we like) and use them at the resorts at night in our rooms, instead of spending $8-12 a drink for a meal. It's just not worth it to me.
But yes you're right. Tips do add up, as do other things. As a party of 4, we try our best to split tips and I try my best to figure out which meals will be heavier for lunch (I'll book an earlier ADR, say at 11am) and just have to pay OOP for something small for breakfast to kind of offset the cost, instead of paying OOP for something larger.

Each family definitely has their own plan of attack and whatever works best for you :thumbsup2

There are a few restaurants that offer a price fix menu. That way you get an app, entree, and dessert on the DP. Off hand I know that chefs/france has it.
