If you guys are like me you want to know every little detail of what to expect. I am all about the details, so I’m going to back up to when we first entered our cabin. This was our first cruise with Disney. It felt like everything was different. Being a huge Disney fan I loved this! We will start with the bathroom.

Looking down the hall to our restrooms doors. Yes, this cabin had two on the left. The one closest to the entrance door had a toilet and sink inside. The other door housed a second sink and a bathtub/shower combo. To the right you have a good sized closet and a big safe. The safe held my medium sized purse, and two Nikon cameras with big lenses attached. It still had a little bit of room left after all of that was put in. Thumbs up on the safe, and storage area. We actually had a couple of different closets side by side. Disney did a superb job with maximizing storage space.

ship10_zpsa6f325fd.jpg

This is the toilet area. It is tight but it works. They have shelves everywhere to hold everything you could possibly need.

ship11_zps3be1d068.jpg

This is the little bathtub. In this space you also have a second sink. At 5’9 it was perfect for me. Had I been a couple of inches taller I don’t think I would have fit into the shower, at least not under the shower head. When you leave it on the ceiling it's like a spa experience within itself. If you are tall you might end up on the ledge with the handheld sprayer.;) You will get clean one way or another. Like I said, Disney maximizes space and they do it well.

ship12_zps5fbb788c.jpg

This is the sink in the bathing area. Again, plenty of took to put your soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, etc.

ship14_zpsfe2fad72.jpg

Your Disney provided soap, shampoo, and lotion. FYI these products are amazing. After getting a sample of the “green” stuff from the Grand Floridian I was hooked. We bought the big bottles at WDW and they make your hair look and feel fabulous. The smell though…not one of my favorite scents in the world.

ship15_zpsdbc4ef52.jpg

I’m not sure if I added room details or not. I don’t think I did so I will now. This was our bed. By the way the bedding is the most comfortable bedding I have ever slept on in my life. I will be buying similar items for my room here at home this December. It’s my Christmas present to myself, and it will be worth every penny!

ship73_zpsd79f93a6.jpg

See the red pillow? You can purchase this at the gift shop, and it’s close to $200. I want to say it was $175. I don’t think I’d want to pay that kind of money for a simple pillow, especially when WDW sells one very similar for @ $40.

ship47_zps92204d01.jpg

*Pay close attention to your telephone beside the bed. It has your name on it!

When you come back into your room at night they have I all set up with chocolates and towel animals.

ship45_zps40b0d5a8.jpg

The kids freaked when they saw their beds all pulled out and ready. See the one in the back? That bed folds down out of the wall for guest five.

This is a view of the balcony from inside the cabin.

This was our view from the outside.

ship78_zps2dc7e6d1.jpg

Oh yeah, one more quick thing. Look at the lights. Aren’t they cute?

ship9_zpsbef10a4a.jpg

You also have an iPod docking station right by the bed. You have an open bed underneath which is the perfect place for your suitcases and bags. The entertainment center is full of drawers and storage as well. Not once did we feel cramped while on this cruise. The cabins are a lot better than those we’ve experienced on RCCL and Carnival.

Overall we were very pleased with what we saw. Room service was excellent, we never needed anything. Our room was clean. It was spacious. 5 stars!

The books you made look great. Your kids are so lucky to have all those memories preserved. We've come such a long way from those awful plastic sleeve albums. I used to get so frustrated and many of my pics stayed in shoe boxes to be organized some day.. (still waiting for that day!)

Looking forward to the next installment and more of your beautiful pics. I love how you share so much about yourself. It brings a nice dimension to your report. Cool!

Thanks. You know I rarely print pictures anymore. I keep meaning to. I save them up for years with plans to print them when my lab runs their sell in December. I always forget. I was just thinking about this the other day though, if I'm making books there's really no need in printing them for an album. Only problem is I bought a bunch of albums. :scratchin Now I have to at least print enough pics to fill those.

I do share a lot, and that's probably why I want to know who all is reading along. I like for people to participate in my trip reports too. Show me their favorite Disney pictures, share their personal thoughts, etc. It's boring if it's all about me and my trip only. I have met some wonderful (Disney loving) people over the years and many times it started from a single post on a trip report.

Great ideas! Thanks for sharing them and all the info we needed!! I'm going to check out those links right now.

Happy to help. I think everyone loves free, and I've seen them offer that $40 a couple of times in the past few weeks. :thumbsup2

Hopping on and joining in. :goofy:

Welcome! Thanks for posting. :)

Signing on! Your pics are amazing! We take our 1st cruise aboard the Dream in April and I can't wait!

Thank you. That means the world to me when people say that. The Dream is GORGEOUS! You are going to LOVE it!

Love, love, love the room pics! How did your kids like the beds? I am particularly interested in the bed that pulls down from the ceiling. I figure we will stick DS12 up there. It's tough being the youngest!:rotfl2:

Did the "lifeboat view" bother you when you were on the verandah? They seem so prominent.

I had NO idea those cute red pillows cost $200!:scared1: We won't be getting one of those!

I felt better with the boats being down there. It would break a fall...

You do not see them from your balcony unless you try. I was out on the balcony shooting down each side. When you are sitting there or looking out to the sea you don't notice them. They are a deck below you.

The top bunk would have held my husband easily. It was pretty cool actually. We all wanted to sleep in it. :lmao: The kids fought over it. Every night they wanted to play in it...so I think DS12 will be more than happy with his bed. :goodvibes

Hi Tammy!!!

First cruise ever or first Disney cruise? Either way The Disney Dream is the perfect ship to start with. You are going to love it!

Loving all the photos! We're going on our first disney cruise in Jan can't wait

That's right around the corner! Where are you sailing to? I can not wait to go back and do a seven night cruise!

I was going to do a Castaway Cay post next, but since Sidney is remodeling my shower I found it fitting to do a bathroom update. Maybe it will inspire me a little, and it will hurry him along.

My husband is a contractor, and I love to design. We built our own house, not from a plan, from our own drawings. Simple things inspire us. For example...last Feb we stayed at CR with theme park view, club level. What do we come out of this with? A newly remodeled bathroom. Yep, we came home and turned brown to blue and added a few Disney touches. Everything but the shower room, and it's being done this weekend. Most people walk into a bathroom, do their business, hopefully wash their hands, then leave. Us, not so much at Disney. The cruise was no exception and the Dream had some of the greatest bathrooms we had ever seen.

This one is the Remy/Palo dining room. It's a little too Vegas strip club for me, but if you like gold this is your dream bathroom! It feels warm, and inviting when you walk in. I kind of felt like I as in a castle or palace somewhere. Little girls will love it because of the princess feel.

I apologize, but I was just informed that we have to go on a run to Lowe's. We have to pick up some tile and plumbing supplies. I will finish this update when we return. Sorry. :(

Lurker here! :goodvibes Thanks for all the great pics and info. We leave on the dream in 8 days and I'm getting all the last bit of info my mind can handle!

My first cruise EVER!!! I'm so very excited! It has been a dream of mine since I was a CP CM in 2008 (great discounts as a CM) but my DBF surprised me with the trip in March so I won't be using any CM discounts (I'm a seasonal CM now) but I doubt they'll have any the week before Easter haha.

Lucky! I want to go back right now. I keep looking and considering it. We'll see. If you have any questions I'll try my best to answer them. Thanks for posting. :)

They don't allow you to cruise with a discount if you're seasonal? What do you do? (PM me if you want) We're coming back to Disney next month. I'll stop by and say hi. :wave2: Have you checked your FL resident rates? We sailed with that and saved a ton of $. They are really low right now. Maybe ya'll could do a cruise now and later? :yay:

Bathrooms continued!

ship53_zpsffaa218f.jpg

This was one of my favorites. I want to redo our guest bathroom. Currently it is all done up in Mickey yellow, red, and black but it's missing something. The floor is black (for the most part) slate tiles. If I left that floor this first one would match nicely.

ship115_zpsffbf5708.jpg

ship116_zpsc4c29ad1.jpg

This next bathroom is so over the top, my gosh, you have to see it to appreciate it.

When you see this club area stop and walk inside! (And bring your camera) :rotfl2:

ship19_zpsd786bcab.jpg

The pictures do not do it justice. If you are there you will actually see the curves of the doors, and the details of the tile. It is gorgeous!

ship86_zps951dae39.jpg

If you were a tipsy, this bathroom would so mess with your head. When you sit inside of one it feels like you're in a capsule.

This is one of my favorites! The other I considered for our remodel.

I'm gonna share a couple of pics from our master bath. This is the one we got an idea for after staying at the CR. The frames aren't matted. Everything is see through. You can't really tell in a picture though. This is the one he is redoing the shower in right now. The guest bath has my laundry in it too. It's the one all done in Mickey colors. It is cluttered with Disney everything. LOL

We'll add a little bonus tonight...

The Arr-cade

ship94_zpsd3783978.jpg

It's not very big, but it has a lot packed in there.

ship95_zpsaaec4883.jpg

Tomorrow we will go to Castaway Cay for a bit. Sound good? I wish it were for real, but for now the pictures will do.

Love the bathrooms!!!!

We do get a good discount as a CM but they only post them 45 days out and my boyfriend got me the cruise as a surprise for xmas/birthday (he can't keep a secret!) He doesn't live in FL and right now they aren't offering anything and we're going the week of Easter so I'm guessing they won't offer anything lol.

I'm seasonal at Sunset Ranch Market at DHS so it's hit or miss if I'm there and I have 6 location within SRM so there's no telling where I might be lol.

I love the mickey head mirrors , awesome ! OK , so I see you mentioned some other cruise lines , you seem to have experience where I have none . Is Disney cruise line your first choice ? I was looking at RCCL , Carnival and especially the NCL and they looked pretty good too at much smaller fares than Disney , can you tell me if Disney is far above the rest , especially sailing with teens ?
My kids have already informed me that they will not go to the kids clubs , but i'm thinking they will , especially knowing they can party at the vibe till midnight , I am sure they will make friends and never want to leave , that made me consider a 7 night cruise instead ...... we can do Universal another time .....:confused3

Beautiful bathrooms!

Showed DS your pics from the clubs-made him even more excited :rotfl2:

To answer your questions: We are sailing in March for our FIRST Disney cruise and yes I may have posted on earlier reports.

Most of the really good discounts are last minute deals. I love traveling like that though. Our life is flexible enough for us to do that as a family.

You have a great boyfriend! I can tell, but he sounds like me in the part where he can't keep a secret. Me either.

We arrive at WDW 11/24 and leave 11/08. LMK if you wanna meet up. I will PM you my #.

I love the mickey head mirrors , awesome ! Me too! OK , so I see you mentioned some other cruise lines , you seem to have experience where I have none . Is Disney cruise line your first choice ? It depends. Disney does not have as good of food as other lines do. RCCL had a lot of food sculptures that added elegance to the food presentations. We saw sculpted food art made out of pretzels, cheese, vegetables, fruit, chocolate....you name it. They had ice sculptures everywhere. Dinner was more like a party, so it was fun. Even Carnival's presentation of food and the offerings overall was better than DCL, but they did not have the art (on our cruise) that RCCL had. The shows and theater's on the super sized ships are a lot more Vegas like than DCL. However, DCL I enjoyed more because I'm a huge Disney fan. The theater itself felt a little too tight for my liking on DCL but I loved the shows. I loved our cabin on DCL. There are characters everywhere all the time, so if you love meet and greets DCL is the best! For teenagers I think DCL has all the other ships beat. The clubs for the kids are exquisite. We don't care for casinos, BINGO, etc. If you cruise only for that kind of thing I'd definitely avoid DCL (Unless I was there with someone who appreciated Disney). They offer BINGO, but no casinos on Disney ships! You could always gamble in port if you really wanted to. Destinations...DCL doesn't do Belize and we really want to go there. I wish DCL had more stops out of Port Canaveral that stopped at Key West instead of Nassau, but I feel sure they have an agreement with Nassau since they are registered there. If I was not a Disney fan (or traveling with someone who likes Disney) I'd avoid DCL. Does that make sense? I was looking at RCCL , Carnival and especially the NCL and they looked pretty good too at much smaller fares than Disney , can you tell me if Disney is far above the rest , especially sailing with teens ? My teen/tween aged kids LOVED DCL! They have a lot of things families can do together. The Aqua Ducks are fun too, but at the same time other lines have entire water parks on them. I would advise you to try a few different lines. Start with DCL since you guys are Disney fans. Maybe do a 4 day with one and a 7 day on another. I'd say do a 3day/4day but you would end up at the same ports more than likely unless you travel out of Miami. Then you could find a Key West stop in there on a short cruise.
My kids have already informed me that they will not go to the kids clubs , but i'm thinking they will , especially knowing they can party at the vibe till midnight , I am sure they will make friends and never want to leave , that made me consider a 7 night cruise instead ...... we can do Universal another time .....:confused3
Seems like Vibe was open even later on some nights.

Beautiful bathrooms! I think so!

Showed DS your pics from the clubs-made him even more excited :rotfl2: Good. He is going to be there the whole time...
