I was going to ask a CM what it was but forgot,so I'll try here. When looking at the resort map, I think BCV looks like a slingshot. At the end of the wing that I would call the handle, there is a concrete oval track. Is/was this intended a a crochett (sp) court ?

Also, behind the promanade along the canal there is a sand dune. If you look into the center of the dune there is an area that looks like it was intended to be something-maybe a quite sitting area. But we walked all around the dune and there was no way in. Maybe someone has info on this also.

Maybe it's spare sand for SAB or the beach area if they need to replenish an area.

The other area, is it near the truck entrance for laundry pickup and such?

My memory's not so good, so here's a visual aid:

I didn't recall seeing the concrete oval track, but thought I'd post the layout to help jog someone else's memory.

I stayed at BCV, room 540 Epcot view. Right outside my balcony was the oval concrete walk (I seem to remember it was a "figure 8). Anyway, the reason I remember this is because my daughter asked me what it was, and I did not have an answer. No connecting paths, just in the middle of a grassy area.

On the map, it is roughly located where the word "Club" is in the Disney Beach Club Villa.

On the other side of those green circles on the map (trees or shrubs) is the road that goes into the tunnel to Boardwalk.

Wait, are you saying that if you follow the service road, it becomes a tunnel and you end up at the Boardwalk? Is there an exit to the main road? This may the shortcut that I was looking for, the trek around the swan, YC seems so long...

Andres, absolutely.

The shortest route to Buena Vista Dr. would be to make a right turn out of the BCV parking area, go through the tunnel (which goes under the waterway connecting the Epcot lake to the Epcot Resorts' lake), pass the entrance to BW to the traffic light.

P.S. it's not a service road. That's the regular road. It makes a complete circle around all the resorts (Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, BW).

It was definitely an Oval, not a figure 8. We also had the same view but mine was two floors lower in 340.

We were there in September in room 540. As we sat on our balcony eating ice cream, my four year old son asked me what that was, and I too didn't know. I would love to know the answer to this question. Yes, it is an oval.

Thanks:D

Interesting that you asked if this was the crochett (also ?? sp) court. I have read that there is one on the grounds somewhere, but I've never seen it labeled on a map. I have wondered about that myself. I know that no one so far has offered a guess ... but does anyone know where this would be?

On our second stay at BC ( I think it was in 1994), we played croquet with our two kids. You get the equipment at Ship Shape Health Club. The croquet "court" is just the lawn outside the main entrance of the YC. On the map, it would be above the letter "G" on Wedding. You set up the course yourself putting in the wooden stakes and wires. We used to play croquet here at home and I have to say its much harder on the grass at the YC. I think someone told me it was Zoysia grass-very thick and broadleafed.
