Today I found out that i was outnumbered by my boyfriend and mother about having a disneyworld wedding or castaway cay wedding. Thats what i want both they both feel its unfair to his family, him and my family. That ill regret not having my family there. So when i get married its going to be an at home wedding. I guess ill just have it disney themed. I really like the beauty and the beast theme something different then cinderella.

Have you expressed to them how important it is to you to have the actual Disney Wedding?? I see that you live close to Sleeping Beauty's Castle. If that's so...why couldn't your family be there?? (Or his?)

the price for that many people is out of our price range. I guess ill have to settle for a disney honeymoon. Does anyone know if you can do a magic kingdom honeymoon photo shoot in your wedding attire if you are not getting married there?

No, you can't Turtle, sorry. :( But you can do a honeymoon photo shoot in the MK in your casual clothes, it's really cool.

Do you think its worth all that money just to be in regular clothes. I wonder if you can do it at disneyland? I havent heard of any photshoots there but i doubt it.

The honeymoon session is WAY less $$ then the MK session. MK session (in bridal wear) is $800. Honeymoon session is $295. The Honeymoon session is done in casual attire during park hours and anyone can have this, even if you did not get married at Disney.

Oh, and as for DL, you have to get married there and have a private photographer to take the photos.

I'm sorry to hear that they feel that way. I do think you're doing the right thing. You're going to be related to these people for the rest of your life, while your wedding is only one day. You could always renew your vows at Disney down the line. Best wishes!

Sorry to hear that your family is making you change your mind on your wedding...My opinion is that you only get married once--do it your way! Sounds like they all talked you out of it. Could you have your wedding the way you want it and then have a at home reception? I agree you have to live with your families the rest of your life-so they should show some respect TO YOU and YOUR wishes :)

I agree with grover...

We had a Cusotm Wedding at Disney, and it was the best thing I have ever done. My husbands family was SO AGAINST it b/c they had to travel, so most of them did not come... Out of approx 100 guests, he had about 12 family members there. But, we did what we wanted to do. We get to do something like this once, and we wanted it at Disney. They were all very upset, especially his mom, so it made for VERY UNHAPPY planning! Needless to say, it turned out wonderful and she is now so happy we did it there, b/c she saw how happy we were and how beautiful and magical getting married at Disney was. They have also all gotten over it. We are having a party here in the next couple months (decided to wait for summer and warm weather) for his family. I really hope you are not sacrificing what you really really want! Getting married at Disney had been my dream since I was a kid, and something he really wanted as well. And as bad as we felt that his family wasnt coming, we wanted to remember our special day at Disney.

Good Luck - I know planning is tough, but it will all work out in the end!!!

Yup you do only get married the once however if my own fiance was against it then I wouldn't want to get married in a place that I forced him to get married even though I'm sure he's be thanking me for twisting his arm on it after the event but personally I wouldn't want to take that risk.

So I think you are doing the right thing and honeymooning in WDW is just as meaningful regardless of where you get married.

So onto the question of Honeymoon Shoot - Paul and I did this and we absolutely loved it - it was well worth the money - my pictures aren't up anymore and I haven't scanned them in so I cannot show them - sadly.
