Outlets on Disney Fantasy

Four years ago when we went on the Disney Fantasy we brought an outlet extender/ serge protector that plugged right into the outlet and gave us more outlets for devices (does that make sense? It was not an extension cord). With college and moving, we cannot find those again. Should we purchase new ones? There will be 6 adults between 2 rooms with at least 2 devices each. I am estimating 15 devices (phones, iPads, laptops, ereaders, gameboys). I know it seems like a lot but a few of us still have to work while on the cruise.

It is my understanding that they are not allowed. When we cruised four years ago, they confiscated the power strip/surge protector that we brought.

Strange, have always brought them and never had anyone say anything. I recommend the newer ones that have USB ports so you dont need all the bricks.

Extension cords and surge protectors are prohibited. They cracked down on this maybe about 3-4 years ago, so it's possible you brought one on a previous cruise. There are several threads around with pictures of allowed USB charging devices that are not power strips or surge protectors. I'm sure someone will be along to share more pics.

Hmm, have taken a cruise each year for the past 6 years. Maybe since its technically a power strip, they never cared. Its short cable, about a foot, so not really an extension, and it doesn't have any surge protection, so its not technically on their list.

We were on the Fantasy a couple months ago, 3 adults in stateroom, and found there were plenty of charging ports at the desk and bed stands. Also noticed that if it is a multi USB adapter that plugs into a USB port they are allowing, if it plugs into an electric socket they hold them until you disembark. There have been people in our meet groups who have even had them removed from checked bags. My theory is that if the cruise line thinks there is a safety or operational issue with something I am not going to be "that guy" who knows better and ends up causing an issue. It also puts our stateroom host in a bad spot, if they spot it they are supposed to report it to engineering, doing so they also know will upset their guest, so when working off tips what to do.

We were on the Fantasy post-drydock, and our stateroom had 2 USB ports built into the desk (one of these was a 2.1 amp outlet for larger devices, the other was just 1.2 amp), and another 2 built into the alarm clock. There were also regular outlets at the desk and bedside for other chargers.

I can't get to my pictures right now, but the Fantasy has 2 regular outlets on the desk, as well as the 2 new USB ports. And 2 more USB ports on the clock by the bed. There are also outlets on either side of the bed (one on one side and two on the other).
