Outlet store shopping

We just returned from a trip to Orlando. I was shocked at how much money we saved by going to the Outlet store for t-shirts etc. Many of the items we saw in the parks. We were doing Universal, but I saw that Disney had an outlet too. I never would have known about them if it weren't for this board! Thanks!

I know there are 2 Disney Outlet Stores at Belz, but I haven't heard about Universal Outlet Store?

My kids are "in love" with Sponge Bob Squarepants and they'll want some souvenir with Sponge Bob.

Did you find an UNiversal Outlet ?

Yes, we went to a Universal Outlet. I believe it was also in Belz. I looked in the phone book under Universal Outlet and it was listed.

I bought t-shirts and sweatshirts for 1/2 price, some of which I saw in the parks..some I am sure are last years models...... there were toys, stuffed animals, all the usual stuff. For my family it was well worth the stop.

Do you have a Fan Club Card for shopping you do at Universal? Another way we saved a lot of money was to use the Fan Club Card for all of our purchases and it really added up! I kept congratulating myself for having one!!!!

Walmarts near WDW have Disney sections in the store. T-shirts, toys, etc... much less than at WDW or the outlet stores.

Also there are several little "tourist" shops that also have disney items, same thing you would buy in outlets but much cheaper.

I am always sharing with friends that are coming down to visit Walmart or one of the little shops for thier souveniors. Many of them will actually visit WM upon arriving to buy their kids a diseny item before visiting the parks. That has helped them cut down on the "i want this" at the park. The kids already have a toy to play with during their visit. They also will return other days at WM/little shops to purchase other items through out their trip. Again kids get special disney items and parents save a few bucks.

I really like your idea. Since I am unfamiliar with Orlando (first trip), can you please tell me the location of WalMart store/little shops that are nearest to WDW.

hiya
there are several near and around WDW. May depend on where staying, will you have a car.

One is near 1/4 on 192 in Kissimmee but usually extremely crowded.
Another one is Osceola Pky.
Also John Young Parkway/SandLake


A Kmart near Universal Studios also has a WDW section in the store. IT is on TurkeyLake near Sandlake.

But I'll look for the Universal Outlet at Belz

As for the tourist shops, there are a lot of them in International Drive area and there are some good items I found last time : fat pens, character glasses ans plates, lots of T Shirts, tennis shoes...
They have really good prices.

There is a wonderful lady that can be located on the Universal boards on this website that can get you a card ( no charge or requirements) that is how I got mine... it was super easy.. she sends it right to you .. it saved me a ton of money!!!

We love the universal shop at Beltz. I really think they have better prices than the Disney shops at Beltz. The outlet stores are another reason we always rent a car. What we save at these shops can really add up. Plus there is a Sonic not far from Beltz and I always can find room for a cherry lime-ade!
