I don't know if I'll watch. I have very clear pictures in my mind of how the characters look, how the scenes play out, etc. I'm not sure I want to see someone else's version.

I completely forgot about it. Last I remember was that they had cast Claire so it was awhile ago. I'm kinda excited about it but I'm worried that it won't live up to the way it played out in my head while I read it. I'm not a fan of who they picked for Jamie. I thought he'd have a little more muscle. I did absolutely love the books.

I am fairly new to the book series. On book 5 now. I have heard the first series will strictly be book one and is sticking fairly close to the book.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I was worried about the network messing up the book as often happens with books that are made into movies or shows. I am reassured by Diana's enthusiasm and approval for the cast. The fact that the producer has been quoted as saying, "I live with a fan, my wife, and it's my job not to screw up her favorite book!" is very reassuring! I believe his wife is also the costume designer. I don't have Starz but will subscribe for this!

I'm so excited about this! I've been reading up on the TV series and it seems like they are going to try to stay very close to the book. Diana is very excited and the casting is GREAT!!!! Can't wait!!

Ronald D. Moore has been involved with Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, so I've got a lot of faith there as well.

The actors cast as Jamie and Claire don't fit my own visions of them, but I'll have to wait until it airs to form a real opinion. But, as my mother and I agree, there's no real man in the world who could be Jamie *swoon* Have you heard the clip of the actor saying "sassenach"?

I love this post. I have read the entire series twice. I'll admit that the cast photos of Jamie are not what I had pictured in my head, but the clip of him saying Sassenach did make me swoon a bit.

I have the same dilema as Momz.....how do non-Starz subscribers watch?

I don't know if it will be available anywhere, I'm adding Starz to my FiOs package just for Outlander.

On CBS this morning they had DG on with the actors playing Jamie and Claire. DG seems very happy how this series will go on tv. I had my doubts - been reading this series since 1997 but I will definitely be turning in. DVR already set!
