I keep meaning to post this!
RP does offer an outdoor luau every Saturday night starting at 7:00.
It's $49.50 per adult and $29.00 per child under 12 inclusive of tax & gratuity. Includes a Hawaiian feast, dinner show, beer, wine & non-alcoholic beverages.
Reservations are required and must be guaranteed by credit card.
Reservations can be made by calling 407-503-3463
Apparently they have had this for awhile but it's been rained out every Sat. (since I was told 8/05)

Wow! I hadn't heard of that before.... Or maybe I wasn't paying attention...

Has anybody been to this Luau yet? Where is it located?
Is it worth the $$? Convince me!

...Can I wear my tackiest Hawaiian shirt? :jester:

I have reservations for the Saturday after Thanksgiving so I'm waiting for a review also! :)

Hi guys,

There were about two reviews by people who went to the very first Luaus (end of July I think?). I hate to point that out because they were scathing!

I'm hoping the hotel has improved things since then. Hopefully you'll hear from someone who has gone more recently. That's a lot of money if you ask me...but I'm known to be a cheapskate.

$49.50/adult and $29.00/child?????:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

they have got to be kidding.

I know we'll be doing something else on those nights!

It does sound high but it is a dinner show, gratuity, tax wine & beer *are* included. I think Disney's dinner shows are up there also .
Were those reviews for the outdoor luau or the one at Islands buffet? Because the concierge, as of 8/06 said there hadn't been an outdoor one yet because of rain.

OK, I looked back and it looks like she was reviewing the Islands buffet indoor dinner thing. She did call it "the Luau" but I notice the price is only(?!) $24.95/adult so that doesn't jive with the "outdoor" luau. However, if the indoor luau is not worth $24.95, I don't hold out a lot of hope for the outdoor luau being worth twice that. I really hope I'm wrong! I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. I guess if you consider the bar prices, you could drink $50 worth of beer and/or wine in no time.

I am known to like this hotel, but like I said before, I'm a cheapskate. Although I happily paid $75/person for a real luau in Maui. It was a good value for the money. That Maui sunset goes a long way!

I wish someone who's really been to it would comment.
