Outback or Olive Garden for Dinner?

It depends on what you're in the mood for. The seafood Alfredo at Olive Garden is very good, and I love their breadsticks.

This is a running joke in my house... I have never been to an Olive Garden.

I keep saying that I want to try it. Many times I will call home only to find out that my family has been invited to go to Olive Garden by my FIL.... he and I do not get along at all. He also knows that I have wanted to go to OG for a few years.

I think he only invites my family to go when he knows that I can't be there.... :rotfl:

So, i would choose Olive Garden, just so I can try it. Beside, I give Outback a great big "yawn"....

We like both, but lately I've been craving Olive Garden. The salad & breadsticks are the draw for us.

I like both but Outback here is way yummy!

*** but I do like the olive garden though

Depends on what you are hungry for.

Okay, I know that people just love to rag on Olive Garden... And, they really DO need to serve something other than those 'hot dog buns' as Italian bread sticks!!! :rotfl2:

But, other than that, we have several favorite dishes at Olive Garden that are very good! Maybe there are some not-so-good Olive Garden locations??? Maybe people like to be food snobs???

Not everybody has some 4-5 star authentic italian cucina in their neighborhood. And, if they did, I expect that it would cost twice as much.

Last time we went to Outback, most other parking lots were full, and they were half empty... We do like Outbacks dinner salad and the bread and butter. But, really, the food was not so great. Outback is a 'steakhouse', but I certainly would not go there for one of their steaks. Mine was so bad and so very overcooked (very well instead of Med.) the manager was obliged to bring me out a small serving of the prime rib filet... Now, it was good!

I like both.

One thing to keep in mind is that these are both franchise restaurants and as good, or bad, as the management. You have to judge them individually. Our Olive Garden is great, but our Outback seems to be slipping a bit. That can, and probably will, change with the management. Our Red Lobster has the best food I've ever experienced from that chain, but the service sucks. It's a management thing.

Olive Garden. I don't like the heavy seasonings Outback uses on their meat.

It's funny. We actually made that decision tonight. We hadn't been to Olive Garden in quite awhile so that's where we went. Our Olive Garden is very good. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice glass of wine, salad and bread. My entree was, a tour of Italy (lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, and chicken parmesan), very good. Definitely recommend. And for dessert I had the, white chocolate raspberry cheese cake. Yum! Great food and service. Wonderful experience. :) We went for a nice long walk after wards, just to walk some of it off! :upsidedow

I like both too. Depends on what we're in the mood for I guess. I do think around here Outback is overrated. It's good for steaks. Not great, but you would think they were by looking at their crowds.

We also ate at Olive Garden tonight. Love the shrimp primavera-YUM!

Olive Garden!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

We ate there last night!! The chicken and shrimp carbonara is SOOOOOOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always take at least half of it home for lunch the next day, but I made the mistake of letting my daughter carry it in the house last night and she dropped it in the driveway!!!!!! I was NOT happy!!!!!!!

Same here. No way we could have eaten all of that food in one sitting. Even at that it was too much to eat! Sorry to hear about the mishap. Very disappointing!
