Outback or Olive Garden for Dinner?

I'm with the "it depends" crowd. When I'm feeling like Salmon - I go with Outback. They have some of the best Salmon (with this delicious sauce) I've ever tasted. And I've to some high end places (Outback wins in taste) And their wheat bread - oh my - again, some of the best. Olive garden is a lunch spot for me. Soup and salad. That's about all I would get there. I do enjoy it. I've tried their Salmon - it's not very good and I'm not a pasta fan. I enjoy their 'all you care to eat' salad. It's pretty good.

I will have to go with Outback. Love there chicken dishes. I don't eat red meat so I can't comment on the steaks even though I've heard from friends/family they are great.

Haven't been to Olive Garden in a loooong time. I remember liking the bread and salad.

I've never had a good experience service-wise at Olive Garden, so I vote Outback.

Not everybody has some 4-5 star authentic italian cucina in their neighborhood. And, if they did, I expect that it would cost twice as much.

!

Actually, the great thing about having tons of great italian restaurants in the neighborhood is that you can get delicious authentic italian food that is very inexpensive (and also some pricey food, depending upon what you are looking for).

Olive Garden - we are going there Wednesday.

I just went to Outback for the first time last month, and I didn't love it :sad2:

I have never been a fan of Outback. The food looks really good on TV and I love the chopped salad, but thats about it.

I love Olive Garden for lunch, can't beat the soup and salad!

Why don't you do what I am going to do tonight?

We are ordering Olive Garden, taking it home and watching movies all night.

We used to love Olive Garden, but we can't eat there anymore with DD11. She ate there 3x in a row after ear surgery (she has a bunch of congential problems and is hard of hearing)- and she got sick three times in a row. Now we even mention the name and she feels ill. She even has to leave the room during a commercial for the place. When she was at Lion's camp in June we ate there twice just to make up for it! Funny thing, that conditioned taste aversion......thinking maybe I should acquire it to ALL restaurants, cake, ice cream.....you get the picture.

We do like our local Outback. A friend of mine's son has worked his way from bus boy to manager (hs to college job), and he always gets us something extra special...sundae, appetizer, something. And, my teen girls think he is extra cute (and engaged, thankfully!).

Although its been a long time since we have dined at either, Olive Garden would be my choice.

So, where did you go?

I went to Outback. It was ok. I had the Sirloin and baked potato.
