Not sure wher eyou put dining questions that aren't about Disney restaurants but anyway ...

Going to Disney soon - there are 8 of us in total. Been to Charleys before and loved it but this time taking DD who is 6 and DNephew who is 7 and wondered if it isn't perhaps suitable for children. They weren't very friendly to DD when we went to the one in Kissimmee in 2005. Wondered if Outback Steakhouse might be more "child-friendly"? Does the food compare? If not, can sombody recommend a good steak restaurant in the area. it is FIL and MIL's first time in America and we want them to try food they are REALLY good at! Our meat doesn't compare back home in the UK !!

Is that O'Charleys? I haven't eaten at either in Orlando, but in general, I much prefer Outback. I don't order meat out very often, but I also enjoy Bennigans.

Actually the Golden Corral on 535 has some pretty decent meats, normally. They would definitely be good for the kids and cheaper overall than any of the other chains.

Thanks Sheila

It's Charleys Steakhouse - there is one on 192 and the one we may go to is on International Drive.

We have been to both, and really enjoyed both meals but would say outback is similar to TGi's standard food and menu and Charleys is more of a dining experince to take your time over for an evening, personally i would try and do both! just take game boys/ books etc for the kids

and so do my two boys 4 & 6! The food is great - they have kids meals and they give kids crayons and coloring book - also have ice-cream so you can order the kids meals right away and then when your food comes, get them a sundae to keep them busy!

Outback is better for the kids and the food is OK.

But Charley's wins for the quality of the steak - if you want really good food, then go to Charley's.

Key W Cools is good too, more kid oriented than Charley's. Good steaks but we have had not so good offerings there too. (An overcooked pork chop comes to mind here..yuch..) but other than that one bad offering it has been OK.

If I was asked to choose out of those 3, I would go for Charley's everytime. Just take things for the kids to do. It is a white table cloth and linen napkin type of place, but you don't have to dress up to go there.

If you want a great steak and kid friendly place, try Logans Roadhouse. It is on 192 just east of WDW around 417. Peanuts at the tables, great drinks, wonderful warm buns and the steaks are excellent. Servers are always friendly and accommodating.

We really like Logan's, and we also like Lonestar Steakhouse. There's one on 535 at I-4 in Lake Buena Vista.
