Out of Touch? Current Hard Rock Bands

No, NB isn't hard rock or metal, they are more alternative, just like Saving Abel and Theory of a Deadman. :)

OP Funeral For A Friend is pretty hard, Rev Theory, Godsmack, Bullet For My Valentine, Julien K, a lot of already mentioned bands. What about Metallica? Or Iron Maiden?

Ahem, so WHY is Nickelback #9 on Billboard's top HARD ROCK albums? Hmmmm?

Boo yeah! Feel free to disagree with us though..:thumbsup2

I took my kids to see Motley Crue within the last year and the backup bands were:

Theory of A Deadman
Hinder
Last Vegas

I'd consider all of them newer rock bands.

but creed is on that list too! :lmao:

And there you have it. The list is completely bogus because Creed is not only NOT hard rock, its barely music. Its horrific garbage. However, that's just my opinion. :)

I've been a hard rock/punk/metal fan for as long as I can remember (my mom weaned me on Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath in the 70's). I find that industry groups, such as Billboard, don't have a clue how to classify rock bands and most often choose those that are most palatable for the masses when it comes to giving exposure and recognition. Of course, that does not explain Slayer in the #2 slot. LOL. I'm sure these bands belong on the charts due to sales figures, but that doesn't mean they are on the correct chart for their musical style.

I was told that it was based on record "sales" but those sales are not what you or I would consider a sale. It is based on what the stores order, not what they have sold. Screwed up system. I think some pop band outsold the beatles or elvis a few years back and the system was under some scrutiny, this is how it was explained to me. I assume it is true, never double checked it.

Ok fine, but ask Chad what he thinks and he will tell you they are Alternative. :)
