I cannot be the only one who is going through this. I have changed my resort 10 times and finally decided on one (YC) I have made all of my ADRs (probably too many haha) and I only have a few payments left to make. I still have THREE months until my trip and I am super antsy. I have nothing left ot do for this trip and I can't wait! Anyone else?? How do you pass the time without going insane haha!

Know how you feel! All we have left to do is make our FP+ selections (but that is not until September). Everything else is planned. Now it is just the waiting game... 149 days to go!

I can't imagine being done 3 months out. Just enjoy it. Watch Disney movies, play Disney games, start counting down and just enjoy your time.

I always end up with a long list of last minute stuff to do. Printing finalized schedules, menus and notes, dealing with last minute changes, booking activities that you don't book 180 days out (there always seem to be a few things that require booking much closer to going), checking weather, checking crowd levels and operating hours which aren't usually posted until much closer to going, planning travel routes and booking hotels for that, finalizing car rentals and grocery delivery, making autograph books and t-shirts or waiting for the ones I order off Etsy to arrive, planning count downs and watching movies or doing activities to introduce the kids to characters they may not be familiar with, and of course buying and packing everything we will need.

You're lucky to be completely done.

I'm right there with you! I just keep spending money :confused3
Getting the kids clothes (I even have their outfits picked out... we don't go until September...). I'm even out of things to purchase now... nothing else we need (or want)... I even bought our ponchos the other day (we buy the $1 emergency ones and just dispose of them, easier than toting around 4 wet ponchos all day).
And we are doing all of the Disney movie watching, reading, etc. (Watching The Aristocats as I type this lol).
Fastpasses don't happen until July. I'm going nuts! Trying not to wish my life away, but geesh. :faint:

It is a bit hard to keep Disney busy once your done. Here are some things I do. Search and practice your favorite Disney inspired pedicure and practice it. Make travel books for everyone going using Disney fonts and clip arts and a page for everyday. Make your lists and start collecting things you need to take. At 4 weeks out, I got out suitcases and started to gather and freshen up and iron clothes for trip that I don't have to wear before hand. ( I am admittedly weird and like to iron to relieve stress so on vacation I iron just about every item as I pack.) HTH :)

Here's what's still on my to-do list:

Decide what everyone is using for a park bag and for shoes.

Hit Walmart and stock up on ponchos.

Arrange for transportation to and from the airport (JFK, not MCO)

I'm collecting $5 bills to leave for mousekeeping.

(Oh, and at the moment I REALLY should be writing some of the 16 College letters of reccommendation that I need to get done instead of playing on the Dis.)

Yep, I forgot. I'm usually making tip envelopes for mouse keeping, bell services, and the magical express at the last minute.

I also create coupons for the kids and place those plus any other spending money or locker money in labeled envelopes marked by the day. It makes it so easy once we get there for everyone to know exactly what they can spend, and I've already budgeted out the little stuff this way as well.

Some ideas of things I did after all the regular planning was done:

Plan a scavenger hunt in World Showcase or an "around the world" game with a book or shirt to check off your progress. I've seen ones done for drinking, desserts, snacks, and candy.

Plan a GeoHunt app scavenger hunt game located in one of the parks, or for a real challenge in multiple parks.
This app is really cool. It lets you create scavenger hunts anywhere in the world with just a phone or tablet. Basically, you have a real satellite map and you mark locations on it and assign each a clue and a radius. For instance, you click in the middle of your public library and set a radius say 50 feet. Then you create a clue - Where the books live. Fast forward to game play. The player opens the game you created on their phone. They read the clue. Then when the phone's GPS registers that they are within 50 ft of the point you set, so in this case, when they physically enter the library, it unlocks the next clue. You can set it up to give cold and hot clues to help, so if you were driving away from the library, it would tell you you are getting colder, toward the library warmer. It's easy to use it to mark attractions in Disney. Fun way to tour going from ride to ride unlocking the next clue each time you get there.

Ordered pins ahead of time for me to hand out after we completed a special activity or attraction. For instance, the kids first ever roller-coaster ride was Everest, so I ordered the little Everest pins and gave them to them so they could remember that. Could I buy these in the park later? Yes. But, I'm able to get them discounted ahead of time, avoid wasting time waiting to checkout, don't have to worry about them being sold out, and can hand them out right during the activity they go along with.

If you hadn't already figured it out, here's where you can really tell I'm really a type A crazy planner.

I wrap small gifts and put them in a bag or box to be opened on specific days of the trip. Everything relates to something we will be doing that day or the theming of that days park. For instance, on a day we go to a waterpark, it might be goggles, Disney themed flip flops or towels, or an underwater camera. Each person has their own bag or box. Disney themed of course. I usually do 2 or 3 small things per day. I do this for two reasons. The whole family, even the other adults, get really excited about opening the surprises and since I try to anticipate things we might need or spend money on that day, it cuts costs by purchasing ahead of time at discount. This also cuts down on the constant souvenir wanting because the kids are getting new things to entertain them everyday. I make a list a few months out. Then keep an eye out at discount stores and buy the stuff as I find good deals.

Research little known Disney secrets, hints, and tips.

Go grocery snack shopping. Then I have the kids help me pack 2 large zip locks person. One contains breakfast items, cereal, groans, oatmeal, and one contains snacks for the day, crackers, cookies, jerky, etc. Each child gets to pick out one item for each day of the trip per bag. This makes it so simple later on when it comes time for grabbing snacks to take to the park or finding breakfast. No one is complaining someone else ate the last ... No ones asking me to find stuff for them. Did it this way for first time two trips ago, and it was great.

If we have a kitchen, I plan out our meals and make the grocery list.

I also collect small toys and travel games for the car which get distributed every hour there is peace and quiet.

I research places to stop along the way, fun parks and such. We then have picnics on the way down if lunch ends up near a cool spot. Sometimes we take two days, so I research activities or places to visit in the city we spend the night in if there's time.

So you can see, you can really go crazy with all the planning if you want to and find any number of things to keep you busy until it's time to go. I'm sure just searching this forum, there's still a number of other crazy things people do to get ready besides the ones I mentioned.

So cheer up.

And of course there is always the next vacation to start planning for!

LOL, I do this too. I drive my DH crazy. For people like us the planning is part of the fun. Did you miss any ADRs that you need to stalk the site for? I have a Disney countdown App on my phone that is fun to play with. I also use Sorcerer radio and mouse world radio Apps where I listen to Disney Park music. We also do Sunday night Disney movie nights when we get closer to our trip and have a Disney themed snack or dessert to go with. Now you can watch You-tube videos of the rides and resorts as well or go to Hulu and watch the Disney Parks documentaries. And of course there is always the DISboards!

We're done too, our trip is in September... yesterday I made my boyfriend get the suitcases down from the attic... I just cant wait anymore, I need to organize something :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm still working on some craft projects and details, but needing a break so I don't over spend! I'm currently working on my *desired* FP+ selections for each day... since that's the next (last?) upcoming thing to do (July 12th)... After that I will really be going crazy!

Ive already changed resorts, dates, added & removed dining ressies 100x, daily check for a BOG reservation (even though we decided to eat there for lunch, on the *off* chance I can snag one), added MNSSHP, booked and then RE-booked our flight (3x), made costumes, made matching tee's, worked on items for DD7s surprise box (and details), gotten the dogs booster shots, visited kennels and picked one ..... :lmao::lmao:

My kids call me "The Vacation Nazi" for a reason! About a month before we leave- I buy several small plain notebooks, and we spend a few hours decorating them with all things Disney while listening to a Disney music. We use Disney stickers, and extra scrapbooking stuff to make it more fun. At the airport, on the plane, before leaving WL in the morning, and upon returning at night - they jot down the characters, the rides, their favorite food, funny stories about our day. A week before, we pull out our mini scrapbooks from our previous trip. Looking through, talking about being the Flag Family at WL, the baby ducks in our pool, the alligator by the bus stop....it definitely gets you in the mood for Disney :), AND helps with planning, because the scrapbooks give you ideas of new things to try, favorites to repeat, and the occasional "Nope, not doin that again!" (don't drink the Beverly) In my dd exact words...."eeew, it tastes like feet"

I have 50 days to go :) Ive been planning since January I think. I've done everything that can be done. But Im still wanting stuff to plan :) I keep going back over where we want to eat on the non-ADR days, what we are going to where on what days to what park(my teen daughter has all kinds of disneybound ideas going) and what rides to ride at what time etc. I finally figured out my meal budget the other day. Today Im going to focus on the rides. One thing that is keeping be busy is that I have a count down thing going. I just do it every 10 days until it gets close. Im also planning and making some t-shirts. Also looking for fun ways to do our nails. And Im still going over what Im going to bring. I re-type my list every time I think of something else :) I even have a bag already filling up with things I want to take.
I love the idea of watching movies. We have a family fun night so that fits in quite well. We even listen to Disney songs ALL THE TIME. We have had to space that out so we dont get sick of them :)

Glad to know I am not the only crazy planner. :thumbsup2 Once we have made all reservations and planned our trip DW likes to shop, I like to research and read. When we go on non-Disney vacations I get depressed at the lack of information.

After I have planned everything possible down to our ride order, I get my Disney fix by reading the Hidden Magic of a WDW, books CMs have written about their time working there, biographies of Walt Disney, and sometimes we play 20 questions Disney style ..... I'm thinking if a ride...... Not at AK....... And so on.

Wow! Go you! I spent hours today trying to decide which parks to visit on which days. Ugh. You should vacation plan for me!!!! ;)

I spend the time going thru what we'll wear and checking toiletries to ensure I am well stocked. DH checks his pin lanyards and SotMK cards. :thumbsup2
