Arrival Day
We arrived at the house around 4:30PM, shortly after Nancy and Papa had arrived. The house was amazing, and the kids were thrilled searching through all the Disney themed rooms, they were especially pleased with their bedrooms!
Since we were all starving, we decided to go for dinner first. We ended up at Golden Coral, since we enjoyed it last year and the food was good. I had a good laugh at Nancy’s reaction to the restaurant, but the food was good and plentiful.
After dinner we went back to the house and went swimming. Having a full size pool to ourselves was great, much better than a little splash pool (last year).
We all went to bed early, as it had been a long day.
Monday, October 19th

Dinner at Crystal Palace – arrived and were told there was a 30-40 minute wait, but got in after waiting 10 minutes. Food was great, service was good. Character interaction was so-so. Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore were not bad but Tigger was literally at our table for only 30 second. Got very few photos. The parade was very short, and they no longer give out the little flags (napkins only). Total bill was $204. for 4 adults and 2 children. Aside from the food, we were disappointed overall compared to when we had our first CP meal in 2007.

Kevin and Papa picked up KFC for dinner (after getting lost the first time)
Saturday, October 24th
Blizzard Beach
Warm morning, not a cloud in the sky. Afternoon was hot, with a few clouds. Perfect evening weather. 32°C High.
Today we decided to go to Blizzard Beach. Crowds were fairly low, and we pretty much walked on to all attractions/slides. Tyler and Emily thorough enjoyed themselves, and to be honest so did we. It was a great way to spend the day and stay cool. All of us were disappointed the park closed at 5PM, and already they’re asking to go back!
In the evening, Nancy and Papa agreed to babysit so that Kevin and I could go out for dinner. We had an ADR for Narcoosee’s but we decided to forgo it and instead went to Black Angus. It was a great meal, and much better than anything we’d get at the park (and cheaper too, even for appetizers, filet minion, a 32oz t-bone and wine/beer).
After dinner we headed over to the Polynesian. We scouted out a hammock on the beach around 8:20PM and just relaxed and talked. It was a bit breezy and cool by the lake, but nonetheless very enjoyable and romantic. The view of Wishes was amazing, maybe even better than watching from the park.
Afterwards we headed to DTD for some shopping and a couple of drinks. Then we headed back to the house for some much needed rest.
Sunday, October 25th
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Warm morning, not a cloud in the sky. Afternoon was hot, with a few clouds. Perfect evening weather. 28°C High.
Spent half the day at the house, just relaxing and swimming. Mommy and Emily had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, which no one woke us up from. We then had to rush to get to the MK in time for Tyler and Emily’s Pirate League appointment. Already late and fairly stressed, the monorail had some technical difficulties and made us even more late. Thankfully we made it to our appointment shortly after 5PM and they still honored our appointment. Emily was first up, and her pirate name was Catherine Blaststriker. As always, she loved getting pampered and all dolled up (make-up, nails, tattoo, etc.). Just before Emily was done Tyler (a.k.a. George Pondwater) was called in for his appointment. It took quite a long time for Tyler’s make-up, and thankfully Emily was being fairly patient. But with that being said, we were late for our ADR at Tony’s Town Square. Thankfully Nancy and Papa made it in time and held our table, and Kevin ran over to tell them we were running late. By then I was starting to get miserable, tired and hot. We’d been there almost 2 hours! Sure enough, luck wasn’t on our side and a few other families finished up their appointments before us which created a backlog for the “secret room” and photos. I ended up speaking with the manager as we wanted to leave without the photo package. They tried to suggest alternatives so that we could still take advantage of the full package but we were already 45+ minutes late for dinner and there was still 3 families ahead of us waiting for photos. In the end we got a discount on our package (for lack of photos) and headed over to Tony’s for dinner. Kevin and I were both miserable by then, and it wasn’t a great start to our evening. Our meal was O.K. but certainly nothing special, but I was thankful to have something to eat/drink and I think everyone else was too.
After dinner we walked over to Main Street and selected a spot to view the MNSSHP parade. Since we were at the end of the parade route we had very few crowds to fight and were able to get a good spot. As with our first MNSSHP, the parade was amazing! The floats, characters and music were all stellar. I found myself dancing to the beat of the music and getting right into things.
After the parade we headed over to Pirates of the Caribbean (stopping for some candy along the way). We walked right on, no wait. After the ride we headed back to the castle for HalloWishes at 9:30PM. HalloWishes was superb, even better than I remember from our last MNSSHP in 2007. I thought they were the best fireworks of all our trips combined.
Nancy and Papa decided that they were going to leave the park, so we separated to each do our own thing.
Attractions we did after HalloWishes:
1. Brainstormer
2. Princess Character Meet n’ Greet
3. Tomorrowland Speedway
4. Buzz Lightyear (Emily scored 999,999 and received a special button)
5. Peter Pan’s Flight
6. Haunted Mansion
We left the park at midnight, exhausted from our Disney Halloween adventures.
Monday, October 26th
R&R Day
Fog in the morning, followed by mainly cloudy skies that eventually cleared. Very warm and humid. 31°C High.
Today we decided to spend the majority of the day at home. Tyler didn’t get up until 11:30, and even then was still exhausted from the evening before. Emily spent most of the morning swimming, and of course colouring.
Kevin and I decided to take the kids to Shell World, since they seemed fascinated by the shells they found at the house in the garden. They each took home an assortment of shells and were thrilled to see so many different varieties.
After shopping we went for lunch to the Sizzler, needless to say it wasn’t our best meal. When we got back to the house, the kids played with their shells and Mommy had a quick nap.
Nancy and Papa came back from their shopping trip (The Florida Mall) and then most of us went swimming. It was very hot and humid in the afternoon. Poor Tyler was still tired though, and for most of the day he wasn’t himself.
In the evening Papa treated us to dinner at Black Angus. The kids were good and we had another great meal there. Mommy and Emily went swimming afterwards and Tyler and Daddy went to the Grand Floridian to watch Wishes (and to look for Mommy’s Dooney & Bourke purse).
Tuesday, October 27th
Blizzard Beach
Cloudy and humid, some sunny breaks. An odd sprinkle here and there. A brief evening downpour, maybe 10 minutes at most. 31°C High.
We started off the day with an ADR at Chef Mickey’s. We got seated within 5 minutes of arrival and had a perfect table right by the food stations and first to be visited by arriving characters. The character interaction was superb, no comparison to our Crystal Palace ADR. The breakfast was super yummy as usual, and a fantastic way to celebrate our last full day at the world.
Tyler wasn’t feeling well (running a fever, slight cough) so we picked up some Tylenol for him.
Both kids decided they wanted to Blizzard Beach again for their last day, which Mommy wasn’t too pleased about since we didn’t add the water park option to our tickets (lesson learned, next year this is a must do). So we went back to the house to get changed and pick up a few things before heading over to B.B.
B.B. had very low crowds, so it was a perfect day to visit. Both kids absolutely love this park, and we thrilled to go back again. The smiles on their faces, and the fact that they didn’t stop for a second was worth the price of a second admission (well almost). It was a very humid day, so it was a perfect way to keep cool and refreshed. We stayed until park close, and again the kids were disappointed they had to leave.
In the evening we went to T-Rex once again for dinner (got in with no ADR). Both kids were well behaved and ate well. I also had the most amazing soup ever – tomato and basil. OMG it was so good, I might even have dreams about this soup!
Afterwards we went to World of Disney to pick-up a Nintendo DS game for Tyler, and then the Lego store for both Tyler and Emily (she got a cute girl set).
We headed home around 9PM, put the kids to bed and did the majority of our packing.
Wednesday, October 28th
Departure Day
Sunny and warm, still humid. Clouds moved in early afternoon, followed by a few sprinkles. 31°C High.
We finished packing and departed the house around 10AM. We headed over to the clubhouse to enjoy a few hours at the main pool. Tyler and Emily played with some other children, and Tyler had a blast going down the waterslide multiple times. The water was cool and refreshing, and even Mommy enjoyed a dip here and there. Daddy picked up lunch from Chick-fil-A and we ate under the covered lanai. The kids enjoyed some more swimming and then we changed so we could head to the airport around 2PM.
The airport terminal was very busy, but overall a smooth process. Our flight went smoothly and we arrived safe and sound at home shortly after 10PM.
Another year, our 3rd magical trip, came to a close (well until next year anyways).
