So there is an opportunity that we could go to WDW for Thanksgiving week or Thanksgiving day through Sunday. Can I plan this with such short notice. We plan to stay at the resort. DD had wanted to have a character meal, but I don't see that happening. She will be fine w/it...we will take her again and she will have it then. In the end she will be happy that we are even there to begin with! LOL!

I am really feel so "out there" and don't even know the questions I should be asking! I hope there is someone reading that will take mercy on me and help me anyway they can!

Thanks!

Oh...traveling will be dh, myself, dd (will be six in a few months), ds (just turned four in October).

Have you been to WDW before?
Do you have your room booked? Resorts may be fairly booked up.

If this is your first trip, you couldn't get me within fifty miles of WDW over Thanskgiving. Crowded, long lines (sometimes standing in line for an hour to eat at a counter service place). Not my idea of fun. In my experience, the people who say "oh, we went to Disney, it was horrible and we won't ever go again" took their only trip over Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or in the height of summer.

Now if I'd been a few times before and the trip was a freebie, I'd go - especially if I were an AP holder. There isn't a lot we "need" to do at Disney and we can have a great time sitting by the pool. If we go into the parks, we could catch a few of our favorites at park opening and then skidattle.

Go!!
I've been planning my Thanksgiving trip for almost a year and when looking on the Southwest website yesterday still found flights at great rates leaving 11/23 out of MHT (I actually changed my flight so we get an extra 12 hours at WDW for $20) I called and was able to get ADR's at LTT and WCC. The only day you might have a hard time getting ADR's is on Thanksgiving. Go have a great time and treat it as a "bonus" trip.

It's going to be busy, but if you accept it and work around it a bit a free trip sounds like a free trip to me!

Have you found a hotel already? Also, ressies for Tday will be difficult, but try the other days and see what you find.

Go first thing in the morning (right there when they open) and leave in the afternoon since by then it will be swamped.

Use Fastpass and understand you aren't going to see it all this time, but the highlights.

It is a beautiful time of year to go with the Christmas decorations up and some special shows/parades.

How many times have you been? How familar are you?

This will be our 3rd during Tday to WDW and once to DL. It's when my hubby is willing to go since he has so many days off, but it is busy.

Thanks all! Your information has beeninvaluable  This would not have been a free trip, but rather a great time/work-wise opportunity.

This would have been our first trip...although from my "join date" you can see how long I have been wishing for it LOL! :smooth: We did not have anything booked.

We will be spending our Thanksgiving in South Padre Island.......................................but we will be in WDW mid and early January!!!!! :cool1: Have already booked a couple of character meals and am currently looking at resorts. I have a question about that, but will make a different post. Postponing the trip to January gave us the opportunity of spending more time in WDW.

Thanks again!!!!
