We leave for our trip in 71 days!! Not that I am counting or anything!

We have the regular dining plan but have booked 2 extra table service meals which we will have to pay OOP. My question is which ones should we pay OOP to get the best value?

The ones I am considering are:
Beaches & Cream - because it's mostly burgers and ice cream
Via Napoli - figured we could split a pizza between 3 adults and 1 child
Sci-Fi Theater - more burgers and milkshakes
Tusker House - breakfast buffet didn't seem too expensive.

What are your thoughts? :confused3:confused3:confused3

You arrive the same day we do:banana:

I think either of the first two would be your best bet. Obviously, you want to pay oop for which ever meal will cost you less.

I am making these same calculations for our trip in two weeks (I count too). We will do OOP at SciFI and Beaches. We have found that we can't eat a meal and dessert at Beaches. Because of the type of food it is, it is just too filling. So we will likely go there for ice cream only and OOP. At SciFi, the dishes we like are low price (rueben and burger) so we just do OOP and use a snack credit for dessert elsewhere. In fact, DH and I usually split the Rueben and it is enough for us, so OOP works.

The best way to figure is pick out what everyone "may" get at each restaurant.
Then figure out which meals will be cheaper...pay for those.

It takes a bit of work, time and calculation but it pays off in the end.

Also not every restaurant will be cheapest for everyone.
Someone may eat very cheap at Sci-fi, yet the other person picks the most expensive thing.
If you are willing and a good tracker you can pay for individual meals per person and save more money. But you have to keep very good track of who has used credits and who needs to pay OOP yet.

We are leaving in 89 days (counting down the days is half the fun!). We also booked an extra table service that we'll have to pay OOP.

I showed my husband & son the menus for the restaurants we'll be eating at to kind of get an idea of what they might order. Then I did some calculations to see which would most likely be the cheapest option. I've chosen to pay OOP for our lunch at Sci Fi, because all 3 of us pretty much decided that we would order the burgers there and skip dessert.

You may also want to choose the one that comes the latest in the trip. Sometimes, though we all have the best of intentions when it comes to keeping all of our ADR's and all of our plans, things go differently.

If you pay for one oop in the first few days and then don't make it to one of the others, you would be putting out money for something you didn't need to and you can't go back and apply credits to it.

I agree with pp-depends on what you want:

Beaches n cream would be one of my picks but not a huge ice cream eater. I would get burger and a shake. Plus you can get alot of other ice cream sundaes/sandwiches as snack credits in other places.

Via Napoli-you can split a huge pizza here or get pizza/salad per person. I loved the desserts here so it probably wouldn't be cheaper for me.

Sci-fi-we paid here oop. We just got burgers/sandwiches-desserts aren't that great-would head over to starring rolls after and get a cupcake with snack credit.

I say def. Beaches & Cream and then if you want to eat light at Sci Fi pay oop for that, other wise pay oop for tusker house. Breakfast would be best since its probably cheaper than lunch/dinner

I'd say OOP for Beaches and Cream. It's a must for us on every trip, usually our first meal of the trip, and their hamburgers are to die for! However, you can get a much better use of a TS credit at other places (aka entire meals rather than just sandwiches). Make sure you get a frozen sunshine if you like orange sherbet and if there's a lot of you (or you just love ice cream) the kitchen sink is not to be missed!
