It happened today - we stayed overnight last night in Stafford - we had 2 rooms at the Days Inn (bargain price at £10 per room as per newspaper offer last October
) and had a nice meal and visited a couple of bars in the town centre.
We then went to Alton Towers today for my DD's birthday - it poured down all day, was cold and horrible - we only got to do indoor attractions (all 4 of them) - who goes to Alton Towers without riding a single coaster (not me - usually). Bought Alton Towers ponchos for £6 each for DD and her friend which ripped by the end of the day. I wore my new DLRP raincoat but what a breach of the Trade Description Act that was (do they have that Act in France - probably not) - the rain just soaked right through and I was dripping - so it's back to the Disney ponchos for WDW in August.
After a long and perilous drive in the rain we got home and have spent all evening trying to warm up. Never mind I have half a days holiday from work tomorrow and I am taking DD to the Trafford Centre to spend some serious money - she has finished college now till September.
