Our WILD Fairytale Wedding and Honeymoon Trip! And We're off!!!

That's so exciting that you are building a house! I hope everything goes great with that! Packing shoes is the worst! DF always has to bring a million pairs too.... and they make the suitcases weigh a ton! 10 more days until you leave! You must be getting so excited!

Thanks! We are really excited about it!! I'll probably end up bringing more shoes than Eric but his weigh a TON!!!

I always have a problem with overpacking shoes. I'm so proud of myself because on our last trip, I wore one pair and packed on pair! New record for me. How many are you bringing? I can't believe you leave so soon!!!

You're torn on the floor plan? Did you find a different one you like better or can you tweak that one?
I don't know how many I'm brining yet....probably 4 or 5 at least!!

We looked at a different model yesterday. We have it narrowed down to 4 floor plans:rotfl: 2 colonials and 2 ranches.

Aaaahhhhh not long now. Can't wait to see photos.
Thanks!!!

Wow, I can't believe how close you are! All of your plans sound great.
I always think the week before a trip is so much fun (stressful, but fun!) with all the preparations. Add a wedding on top, and time must be flying for you!

LOVE the haircut, you look totally happy in that picture!
Time is flying!! I can't believe we leave in just 10 days!!

Thanks about my haircut, I really love it and think it was a good choice for the wedding.

I just caught up! I loose track of things that aren't on the wedding boards :lmao: I cannot beleive how quickly it is coming up...I can't wait to see all your pictures! YAY!

Hey you!!! Yours is coming up pretty quickly too!!

Model homes are so fun to walk through!

What's a "colonial?" Sorry, that is probably a dumb question but I don't know too much about house style.

Loooove the hair! I just noticed you finally posted a picture! Yes I am the stranger who reads and forgets to comment. Actually I am just too lazy most of the time. :rotfl: I think it's going to look so good with your dress! I'm glad you went with a haircut that is fitting of you in your everyday life! :goodvibes I'm not a huge fan of doing your hair way different than normal. Just make sure you dehumidify! I'm terrified my hair is going to go crazy frizzy. I haven't been to Orlando in the summer/fall for about 4-5 years.

A colonial is 2-story...kinda looks like this:

Lol thanks Karen!!! I love my haircut and didn't want to grow it out just for the wedding. I'm not a ponytail kinda girl and everytime I pulled it back it just didn't look right. I have some anti-humidity stuff...but I'm always up for suggestions!!!

Wow is v exciting that you are building a house :) You must have so many ideas :)

Ooohhh! Whats your anti-humidity stuff? the Florida humidity always does a number to my hair. I spend forever straightening it only to have it curl (more like wave) back up soon as we get to the park. So then I pull it back to a pony tail and hate my pictures. :lmao:

I can't believe how fast this month is going by. I know its going fast for me (I can do online check in thursday :woohoo:) so its got to be flying by for you!

We do!! It's funny because Eric didn't know how many different options we had. We agreed to build the house with all the standards...but there are SO many choices. I think there must have been close to 100 different choices for the counters!!!

Right now I use either Aveda Smooth Infusion

or Treseme heat Straightening Gel

My newest product is their Anti Frizz creme but I have yet to try it in Florida
anti-frizz-creme.jpg

My hair doesn't do ponytail, lol, so if I curl it just stays that way!!!

I kinda want to try this:
spacer.gif

• Travel-Size Smooth InfusionTM Shampoo
1.7 fl oz/50 ml
• Travel-Size Smooth InfusionTM Conditioner
1.4 fl oz/40 ml
• Smooth InfusionTM Glossing Straightener
4.2 fl oz/125 ml
• Smooth InfusionTM Style-PrepTM Smoother
3.4 fl oz/100 ml

Ohh! Is that one of the houses you like? It's gorgeous!

Yup! We are leaning more toward the ranch though. It has cathedral ceilings in the living room, an open floor plan, plus someday when Eric finishes the basement, we would have WAY more space down there.

Not a great picture, but we like it. Plus I've always wanted a porch!

I use this before blow drying/flat ironing my hair and it works great! My hair has some kink in it, so I definitely need to do both in order to get it pin straight!

I'll share a tip I got from the Mixed Chicks creators (great leave-in conditioner BTW). If you have wavy hair that frizzes easily, try this:

Wash normally and use a deep conditioner, don't dry your hair afterwards!! "Wring" your hair out and just get the excess water out, you need the rest of the water for the next part. Part your hair into 4 sections and apply a small amount of product to each part, working it into the hair by twisting all the way from root to tip. The extra water in your hair will help to evenly distribute the product!! After you've done all 4 sections, DO NOT FLUFF OR TOUCH YOUR HAIR UNTIL IT'S DRY!! I used to use my product and then mess with my hair. Once I tried waiting for it to dry and set and then playing with it, I noticed the difference! Can you believe that's the secret? My hair stayed frizz-free ALL day once I tried that. Hopefully it will work for you too. It worked great on my DD who has a full head of thick, very curly hair.

WOW!!! Really??? How long did it take for her hair to dry...I think if I did that it would take ALL day for my hair to finally dry.

My hair is thin, so about 30 min for me and then I was able to fluff it out and scrunch some more. DD took about an hour, I scrunched her curls a few times and when it was dry I fluffed it out. For my DD's head not to look like a mop, I was amazed at how not touching it during the drying process is all it takes. I can't find the video, but look on youtube for Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner video. DD has the same hair as the girl in the video. I didn't use the MC product, but used the Pantene Moisturizing Creme for Relaxed and Natural hair and it worked.

I like it! And open floor plans are the best, IMO. I want a porch some day too. Especially if I have kids. It would be nice to have a porch to sit on while they ride bikes and stuff. :)

So is that the actual house? Or will you be building one from scratch?

You're lucky that Eric is handy. I've heard finishing basements, if you hire someone to do it, is really expensive!

Oh cool! Thanks!! I think I might try that this weekend!

I love love love a front porch!! I'm really excited. It's down to 2 floorplans. One is standard and one I kinda moved around. We are waiting to see if/how much they charge for the changes. Plus we are trying to get them to throw in free Cathedral ceilings in the living room. That's just a picture of what it might look like, we are building from "scratch". Eric's done a bit of handy work like that before so between my dad, his dad and him they should be able to do it. He helped his brother drywall his Motorcycle shop before.

Here are some new shirts I just finished!!!

It must be so exciting to be picking out floor plans!

Is the house in a community (and the land included in the price) or do you find your own land and the price is only for the house?

A couple of things you might want to consider:

Catherdral ceilings can cause issues with heating/cooling (higher bills).

Really consider floor plans. I like having all the bedrooms close together. When you have kids, it's nice to have all the bedrooms together (especially for infants and going back and forth for feedings).

Nice shirts; I'm amazed that Eric is willing to wear them. :)

Lol they were Eric's idea!! Now Groom ears on the other hand...he won't do, lol!

It is in a community so the land's included. I like the floorplan we picked since it's all one floor, but the master is on one side and the 2 other bedrooms are on the other. I know cathedral ceilings might be a little less energy efficient but in this particular floorplan we really like them...it kind of makes the space. Thanks for your input:thumbsup2
