We arrived via metrojet to Orlando and took the mears shuttle to our hotel POR. We were at the hotel by 11 am. They had my request for bld 14 corner room on second floor but it would not be available until 6pm. We had awoken at 3am for our flight and wanted to clean up right away. the offered us bld 24 right now. we took it. check in took 5 minutes no waits. We had bell services take us to our room. It was very pleasant. 2464. Steps away from bus stop, quiet pool and laundry. Draw back, quite a long walk to the food court/lobby area.

We were in the Magic Kingdom by 1pm. Ate in the POR foodcourt first and bought our mugs. The lines at the MK were tiny. We walked onto every ride in the park. The longest wait was maybe 5 minutes. We rode practically every ride there on the first day. AWESOME. But it wasnt deserted. There was a real festive air. The weather was very hot and muggy. We stayed until close at 7pm then went to the Contemporary for our 8pm ps for Chef Mickey. We had to wait until 8 but had a good table. The food was good, but a small selection for my husband who doesn't eat alot of meat. A roasted chicken would be a nice addition. The characters were quick to come except for Minnie. We waited for her and she didn't seem to be coming, we finally asked and they sent her over to us in about 7 minutes. It was expensive but the kids really enjoyed the atmosphere. To get back to POR, we took the monorail to Epcot then caught the Epcot bus home. All in all the day went great!! We saw a lot and really had fun. We were exhausted when we reached our room around 10pm. To bed next day Epcot.

A good first day - Sounds like you guys are having fun. We were there during the same time you were - it was a good time to be at WDW.

Sounds like a great start to the trip! MK and Chef Mickeys. You can't get more "Disney" than that! ;)
