Our Trick AND Treat- DD's Surprise Bday Trip! 11/4 Get Movin'

That is just weird! I have never heard of that before and I used to volunteer and go on field trips all the time even when I wasn't the Mom. I would think they'd let you pass on that class. :rotfl2:

The real fun is when Randy has to go! I'm used to sitting through "less-than-stellar" trainings. Randy can't go with me next Sat so he's going to have to go to one of the fall sessions by himself ;) I would say that he's going to pull his hair out but we all know my dear husband doesn't have much hair left. ;)

:lmao: Oh goodness.

That class is the silliest thing I've ever heard!! As if being a parent isn't training enough! I do think they need to talk with parents more about keeping a better eye on kids on field trips. But, it sure wouldn't take 3 hours to do it!!

I wholeheartedly agree. As a teacher myself, I know there are parents I prefer NOT to take with me.

Our Volunteers have to have a current criminal check on file but no 3 hour training. I can't imagine what they are going to tell you for three hours. Do you suppose there is a test involved at the end?

Just found your PTR and followed you over from another thread. I am trying to get caught up. Your DD is so pretty. I must say the picture from her first Birthday touches my heart. I was a NICU nurse for many years, and those little muffins hold a very special spot in my heart. Cant wait to read more.

I am all caught up now. :thumbsup2

Great report. I would love to go see Little Mermaid or anything for that matter on broadway.

Congrats on the new house, that is always fun.

Prayers for you Mom.

A 3 hour class.:confused3 They do a criminal background check at my DS school for parents who volunteer (which I am glad for) but no 3 hour class.

Thanks for reading and all the compliments! You were a NICU nurse? How did you do it? All those little tiny IVs freaked me out!

:rotfl:Its actually my favorite type of bedside nursing. I have been in management for about the last 7 years, but if I ever go back to the bedside that is where it will be. The big people IV's freaked me out after being in the NICU so long.

I bet it was nice working with the little ones though! If I was to switch social work jobs to a hospital social worker position- I would only want to do NICU units.

:music: Thanks again for the cool MNSSHP and P&PP music!! :music:

Kathy

You're welcome!

Mom Update!!! My mom had great news from the Dr today. They think they got everything and no further treatment is needed! :yay: Thanks for everyone for their thoughts and prayers

This is going to be a crazy week again. Work has been completely nuts and I've been busy packing up my house in anticipation of our closing on the 26th :woohoo: The appraisal was done on the house today and my real estate agent went along and reported that all the work was finished on the house that we had asked to be done after the inspection!!! :cool1:

Other than that, I will be having a "birthday celebration" for my friend Becky on Thursday. For people who have not been long-term readers of mine- Becky is one of my two best friends. She passed away a little over a year ago. Thursday would have been her 32nd bday. Two of my other good friends who live locally made a plan when she died to have a yearly birthday party for her at a restaurant she enjoyed. Try explaining to a waitress that you are celebrating a birthday for a person who is not there! Plus we include two other good friends who live in California by calling them during the party for a toast. The waitress must have thought we were nuts! Thursday will be her 2nd posthumous bday party! It's a little odd but it helps me get through the sadness of the day- part of the deal is that nobody is allowed to be sad during the celebration...only good memories. She left behind two little girls (my goddaughters) so hopefully when they are old enough- I can include them in the fun.

So that's my week in a nutshell!! I'm hoping to get some squeezed in there too :thumbsup2

I am so glad your mother got good news!

How sweet to have a little party each year for your friend! I am sure the kids would love it when they are older.

I'm so happy about the good news about your Mother! :goodvibes

I think the birthday party for your friend is very sweet! I am sure her daughters would love to be included in the future.

Great news about your Mom!

One of my BFF passed away last fall. Soon it will be her birthday. I'm going to call up our other girl friends and organize something like that. That's a great idea!

Hi All!!!

I actually have a trip update today!!!!

I came home tonight and guess what was waiting for me?!?! A PIN CODE!!! for AP holders!!!!! I didn't even realize it was just for AP holders until I called the number (it was the AP line). Which means I was able to rebook our trip onto one ressie. You may remember that I had to book it as 2 separate ressies to get the best rate when I first booked it. So now it's all one so no more danger of having to switch rooms after the 2nd night...PLUS I was able to add the DDP without having to buy any tickets :banana::banana:

OH and I got my MNSSHP tickets while I was on the phone with them!

I am so excited!!!!! Now all we have to buy is Randy and Aisling's tickets when we get there!!!!

WOO HOO! Much easier with just one reservation!

It's funny because I was just thinking that we hadn't heard from you in a bit and then you post! :rotfl2:

I just have to say I love your daughter's name. I read a book series of books and the Mom's name in it was Aisling. I had never heard it before and think it is beautiful. :goodvibes

I'm alive...just in packing hell!!!

You'll appreciate this. Disney had the wrong address for me in the computer AGAIN!!! Seriously, I think they think I'm two separate people. They had my mom's address and email address AGAIN! (But yet the pin code got mailed to MY house) So again, I asked them to change it. But this time, I had them change it to my NEW address. So who knows where my stuff it getting mailed now :headache:

Thank you! Was the book set in Ireland??? Only place that the name is popular. We have a few here in Boston but even here it's pretty uncommon. It means Dream or Vision. Named my kid dream and she didn't sleep through the night until she was 2 1/2 ;):rotfl2:

:yay: Yay for the PIN Code and for the MNSSHP Tickets!! :yay:

Also great news about your mom... I missed that somehow!

Kathy

Thank you! Mom is doing great. Back to work and good as new at this point!

I am so excited!!!

:lmao: 2 1/2 wow thats a long time.

Well the book was not set in Ireland. But they were descendants of a Celtic seer so they were of Irish descent. I never new what the name meant, but that makes it even prettier. princess:
