OK Everybody, are you still with me out in the land of Dis? I am updating later today with some cool stuff... pix from our last Disney night (Little Mermaid) and some BIG NEWS!!

Ok, so apparently by "later today", I meant a week from now haha. Anyway, I'm back with some Disney magic. The last Disney night we did was for the Little Mermaid. I decorated the table with garden bowls filled with sea glass and water. I made octopus hot dogs, cheesy shells, and "clams" (aka baked potatoes)

Everyone liked dinner and then we did our activity... I told them they had to go through our house and pick 5 things and figure out what Scuttle would name them and say they were used for. The girls came up with some really cute stuff.

Hannah used a baseball bat as a sword and an embroidery hoop as a belt (that skinny little thing... jealous!)

And Courtney used a q-tip as a dumbell for little fish and a paper clip as a lounge chair for krill. We watched the movie and it was fabulous of course.

We made some cupcakes and headed back to their house until our next night.

So now for the BIG NEWS... my mom and dad have decided to go to Disney and bring my other sister, Ally with them. We will all be together! I have some mixed feelings about it which I will probably talk about at a later time but overall, I am excited we will be able to share the experience.

I am planning a trip for next year for me, my kids, mom, dad, little bro, Dsis, and her boyfriend. Only my sis, me and my kids have been. I am very excited about our trip but I also am nervous because they want me to plan everything and have no opinion on what to do.

Thanks for reading along, I love the input and comments! The girls don't know yet (including Ally). I am planning on telling them only a couple of days or the next before the trip. I don't know if the secret will last that long, though because my mom is incapable of lying or hiding anything and my Dad thinks he is so slick. He thinks he can hint around it all he wants without the girls getting wise. He thinks he is being subtle but he might as well say "we are taking you to Disney World." Cross your fingers for me that the secret will be kept until I am ready to reveal it.

As for your next trip, it sounds like a ton of fun and a once in a lifetime affair. Don't worry about the planning. You will naturally figure it out (especially because you are on DisBoards!) You have so much help here in the Dis community, you won't have to plan alone. This has been a LONG, LONG time coming for us and I have had to do everything myself as well (including convincing my Dad to go). If you need help or direction, we are all here to help! Thanks again for hopping aboard the planning train and keep on reading for what I am sure will be some crazy antics.

Thank you for the kind words. As for summer, it's life as usual and it hasnt stopped raining since May. It has rained 19 out of 23 days here. To be fair, I really love the rain and I would be happy if it rained every day. I am excited about the fam coming and think it will be something we will never forget.

So, is there anyone out there who is canceling a reservation at a value from 9/22-9/29? Pretty please? All we can get for my fam is at a moderate and I don't know if that will be doable for them. I check to see if any availability opens up about every 15 minutes but it would be SOOOOO much easier if someone just gave us theirs!!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share my new idea for the surprise. I am putting together books for the girls. You can design them anyway you want and then have them printed out like a real book. It is a website I found called blurb. It isn't that expensive and it will be a great keepsake for them to have. I will basically be digitally scrapbooking pictures from our Disney nights to create the book. I have not created any pages for those but I have made 4 from our temple sealing and one from our last Disney trip. I am going to post those pictures and if everyone likes them, I will post the Disney night pages as I get them done.

UPDATE. I found a value resort for my parents and sister. YAY!! We could only get it for the 22-28 but they can get a room only for the last night. This will save a lot of money for them and may mean the difference in them going or not.

I have officially finished the first pages for the girls' books! It is an Incredibles page from our night way back last summer. I used the free kit from MissKim that she put up on her blog on July 1st. It is called What Will You Celebrate. This was the perfect little kit for the Incredibles pages. The lettering is from Happy Place (another great freebie from MissKim). So without further ado... here it is!!
