I sure hope so but my mom says they are on to me... oh well... even if they suspect, they will not KNOW until we tell them. And anticipating the trip is half the fun right? Or is it half the torture... haha

Ok folks, the movie/dinner nights don't stop when you leave, because you need something for when you come back to decompress.
Maybe even a Mickey dinner. I would like to make those rice krispy treats and dip them in chocolate. Does anyone have any idea where I could get a Cinderella shoe chocolate mold? I mean the 3-d one that you fill with chocolate mousse and raspberries.

Love your PTR! You are the best sister ever!

Can I ask how you will handle telling the other siblings that they aren't going? That sounds like a "handle with care" situation.

May sounds like a long time away but it'll come sooner than you think! :)

Sorry, no idea. I hope you find them though.

May used to sound like a long way but with the struggle to save money, it seems way too soon. DH and I are taking the other siblings to Busch Gardens in September so it will kind of even out. Plus, we have done A LOT for the older ones and not as much for the younger ones. I guess they will find out when the younger ones come home excited.

Sorry everyone for my extended absence. I have had a busy month. The week after my last post, I was camping in upstate NY as a leader for our church's youth camp. After that, I have just been getting back into the swing of things.

Anyway, no progress on the vacation front except that we got our new camera. It's awesome! I will write when I have something interesting to say. I just wanted to let everyone know what has been going on. Until next time, sending a little magic your way. :wizard:

I've missed your updates! Have you done anything exciting for them lately? I see your savings is climbing up! GOOD FOR YOU!

Sorry to hear about your medical concerns. I HOPE it's not what you think it is since I know you don't want to miss out on some of the yummy foodies! But hopefully if there is something going on, the docs will find it and be able to help you out!

We haven't done anything exciting recently for them as we are moving in October and our finances are kind of strapped because of it.

Got the results back from the doctor. I don't have celiac but he diagnosed me with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Basically: "Reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome (RSDS), also known as complex regional pain syndrome, is a rare disorder of the sympathetic nervous system that is characterized by chronic, severe pain." according to WebMD. Sounds like fun right? I have to go see a specialist. I guess we will see how it goes.

I figured out how we will do our Disney trip. It will be THREE different reservations. :scared1: It will save us about 1,000 dollars though from what we were planning on spending. My birthday is coming up. I will be 23 on the 23rd. Crazy huh? Anyway, sorry I have been absent for a while but hopefully I will have something fun to write about soon. Until next time.. :wizard:

That's quite a diagnosis. I haven't heard of that before but it sounds painful. Sorry you have to go through this.

I'm interested to know why 3 reservations will save you money. That sounds complicated! :)

Take care and I hope they can help you with your RSDS.

WOW! That's a mouthful! What type of specialist do you see? My husband has had horrible back pain for as long as he can remember. After a series of diff types of doctors not knowing what the problem was, he finally got sent to a rheumatologist (I'm sure it's not spelled right!) and he has some digenerative back disorder. It will never get "better" but I have to give him a shot once a week to help prevent it from getting worse. Anyhow, your thing doesn't sound like it's the same as his but maybe in the same "family" of diseases? They said it's an autoimmune disease. :confused3 The UPSIDE is that I'm SURE you can get a handicap parking permit!! DH's doctor filled out the forms for him and now he has a permanant front row parking spot! haha So if you really are in a lot of pain, you may look into that.

Now, back to Disney, please do tell us how 3 ressies will save money. I don't remember what your original plan was? Did you originally plan on 3 hotels or did you change up from the original plan! Share! Share!

Oh, and, uhhh hmmm, to be 23 again! Gheesh! You're a puppy! haha

Hi! I just found your PTR and it's great! This sounds like such an exciting leadup to what I'm sure will be an amazing vacation. The movie nights sound so much fun and I am looking forward to hearing more about your plans.

As for ADRs, I don't think you're crazy for not making any. We've been to WDW several times and we have hardly ever made them.

Thanks everyone for you support. I guess they are still looking into it so maybe... just maybe.. thats not what it is. The specialist I will see is a neurologist and it is a neurological disorder. It's mostly just pain management.. nothing else really that they can do.

wdwgirl.. WELCOME!! So glad you hopped aboard for the ride. Oh, and thanks for your non-ADR support too!

Until next time.. sending a little magic your way! :wizard:

Hi everyone! I'm here and still alive. We have had a really eventful last couple of months. We have moved into a new beach house and found out my dad has two major arteries that are 80 percent blocked. He is currently taking medication to lessen the blockage and we will see how that works in about 5 months. Lots of vacation setbacks but hopefully we will still get there in May. I got a pincode last night offering a free 500 dollar gift card with a reservation that just HAPPENS to be the dates we are planning on! I'll take extra vaca. money anywhere I can get it! We haven't had any Disney nights because of all the moving but we will be starting that up again soon. I'll be posting regularly again so until then, sending a little magic your way! :wizard:

Just to update a little, I have recovered from my moments of insanity and will NOT be making 3 separate reservations. I don't know what I was thinking, but don't get TOO excited, I am still not making any ADR's. I'm just stubborn like that! :snooty:

Well, our trip is only 6 months away and I am in the process of trying to figure out the exact dates we can go. We were planning to go from May 6-13 but I just found out I have finals from May 11-16. That means our original dates are out. I dont want to go the week after that because the 25th is Memorial Day Weekend... eek! We also can't really go much before because my husband gets a bonus from work the last day of April and we want to be able to use that to help with vacation (spending money and such). I don't know what to do!

On a less depressing note, when we tell the girls, we are planning on doing my Peter Pan movie night treasure hunt. I am making a scrapbook of pictures and souvenirs from all of our Disney nights. I also want to put together bags of things they can use on our trip. I need help coming up with things to put in there. Let's see who can come up with the most unique, out of the ordinary, fun things to include. We will try to stay away from the autograph books, pens, chapstick, sunscreen, fans, etc... They are all so generic! Let's try to get off the beaten path and see who can be creative! Keep in mind I will have a teenager and a preteen so coloring books and the like probably wouldn't work. Can't wait to hear your suggestions and stay tuned for our next Disney night.. Hercules! on Monday night. Until then, put on your thinking caps and I'm sending a little magic your way :wizard:

I just found your trip report and I love it!! What a wonderful sister you are.

I am in graduate school, and I know that professors are sometimes flexible with final dates, have you thought abut asking them if you can take your finals at a different time? Even if they say No, it couldn't hurt to ask...

Did you do the Busch Gardens thing with the teens in Sept.? I thought the snowboarding idea was genius.:)

Thank you for joining and and welcome. I hope I will be able to work it out. I have never had to reschedule any finals or anything. I will be taking Biology 2, Chemistry 2, Calculus, Engish, and Psychology. It's a really full schedule and I am also concerned about having to miss labs for a week. I guess we will see. I am sure we will be able to figure out a good time.

We didn't do Busch Gardens because we were moving and it was just too much at once. We won't be doing anything for my sister as next year, we are traveling to Ireland with her for her graduation. As for my brother, we may see. He might be moving in with us because my family might be moving back to the town they just moved from and my brother doesn't want to go back to his old high school. He likes living here because its a beach town and he likes to surf. Anyway, that will be hard on us.. going from being newlyweds with no kids to having to care for a teenager!!! Yeah, so no plans yet but we will see.

Are you a snowboarder? You seem very excited about that idea! Anyway, keep on reading.. hijinx are inevitable on this PTR! You know the drill... :wizard:

I haven't posted any pictures for a while so here are some we took at DBIL wedding last month.

Hope you enjoy! Next pictures should be from our Disney night on Monday!

What an amazing big sister you are. (I bet my younger siblings wished I would have been that great of a sister) I am however the bestest auntie to my niece who lives by me (even though she is only 6 weeks old, but that's what I tell her everytime I see her. :lmao: :lmao: )

I love how creative you are, and you ideas for disney movie nights are amazing, we do that also in my house, but it consists of my sons each getting to pick a movie and I get to order the pizza:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am doing a twelve days before disney thing for my sons. Each day twelve days before we leave they are going to get a gift bag that I will decorate with stickers for them, and inside will be something that we need for the trip. Waterproof disposable cameras for the water park, m&m contairs full of pennies and quaters for the pressed penny machines and a list of all the pressed penny machines, binoculars for the safari ride, and I don't know what else yet.

Looking forward to reading your pre trip.
