Our stay at Wilderness Lodge was WONDERFUL

We came back to the real world on Saturday. We spent 8 glorious days at Wilderness Lodge concierge level. From the moment we arrived, everything was magical. The CM's were all very nice. The food offerings were very good. Roaring Forks was very convenient for a quick bite to eat. We ate there a couple of times and it was quite tasty. The pool was very refreshing after a hot day at the parks. We had no problem finding a lounge chair. The bus/boats were running in a timely manner. Our wait time was usually 5-10 minutes. The grounds at Wilderness Lodge are just beautiful. The lobby is just amazing. My favorite thing to do is sit in a rocking chair in the lobby and people watch. We ate breakfast at WCC twice. It was very fun. Our waitress said my DH looked bored. She said she had something for him to do. He had to go to the middle of the restaurant and lead everyone in the Hokey-Pokey. :rotfl: Housekeeping was adequate. I think they could have done a better job. We were able to watch the fireworks from our balcony. I cannot say enough about the CM's there. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was magical. I have two DD's. CM Brandon found out their favorite character was Jasmine and Stitch. One day when we got back to the room there was a personalized autograph from Jasmine and Stitch along with a chocolate bar. My girls were speechless. Our entire vacation was truly magical. I hated to leave but I'm already planning a trip for December. I hope that everyone can have as magical a stay at Wilderness Lodge as we did. :flower:

Good to hear....my BF and I are going to WL Sept 7 for 6 nights. We haven't been to WDW in about 10 years....We're late 20's so I know the little kid will come out in us easily!! So excited. We got the Lodge View room (was the only one to fit in our budget). i hope I have great things to say when I return!! Are there fireworks every night? From what I've read on DIS it sounds like it. I want to go to MGM Fantasma (???) thing...............know clue what it is but hear its fun :flower:

Thanks for the review. We'll be courtyard view in 2006. I hope we have the same nice service.

Will be there (WL)next Monday!! Have a woods view and have requested the one queen/two bunks room. The people I am traveling with have never stayed on property before so i hope this will be a wonderful experience for them. :cool1:

I hope you get great service too. We have always had good service at WDW but this trip the service was soooo excellent. I was nervous because I had read some threads about rude CM's and disney service going down hill. I can not say enough about how sooo nice every CM was that we encountered. Enjoy your trip in 2006. :flower:

Thanks for the review! I'm staying at the Polynesian for my first trip this December, but I'd like to take my parents in 2006 and I'm thinking that maybe WL concierge level would be a good choice. My Dad has some issues with climbing stairs (he's 72) would he be okay at WL?

I don't think it would be a problem. My dad has stair issues too and we're taking him in December. The lobby would be fine, there's a few stairs going to the restaurants and there's some stairs around the pool. My MIL was with us for a few days this last trip. She used one of those electric chairs. She had no problem and even went out to the pool to watch the kids swim. :flower:

Glad you had a magical trip. I love  hearing about the WL. Thanks for sharing.

We go in less than 50 days for 6 nights. We are surprising the kids. They keep saying how much they love the WL and wish they could go back. :rotfl2:

We just got back from WL Sat too. It was absolutely wonderful. We had a woods view and it was so serene. WCC was an absolute hoot. Even my hard to please 16 yr old DS had a good time. It is my dream to try the concierge level just for a few days! The CM's were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping could start a little later than 8 AM, not everybody is up and at em at 6AM. LOL I guess that's what the "privacy" sign is for. :rotfl2:

No problems with the ducks? ;)

No, we didn't have any problems with the ducks. But we did have our duck repellent on. :rotfl: And we made sure we guarded our cookies for dear life. :rotfl: We didn't see any of those devil ducks. :rotfl:

Glad you had a nice time.
14 days and counting for our first time at the lodge.

This is the first time I have posted. I was wondering if you could tell me what room you stayed in. We are going in August for 6 days and staying on the concierge level. Thank You.

Fireworks are every night that weather permits it. However, I wouldn't count on a view of the fireworks from a WL room balcony. Very few of those rooms have that view. However, you can easily walk out next to the geyser and watch the EWP nightly. I can't say enough about how awesome WL is, and I don't think you'd miss the fireworks much if you can't see them from your balcony.

We were in room 7056. The best room I ever had there. We could see the Fireworks everynight. A lot of the trees are down from the hurricane last year so the view is much better. We had a perfect view of the Castle. Watched it changing colors every night. We could also very clearly see the monorail, Space Mountain, The Contemporary and we could see the lake throught the trees. :flower:

Try this with housekeeping next time. I learned this trick here on the boards and it worked. We like to come back early afternoon for some rest time. Last year a lot of times our room would not be cleaned by the time we got back. So when we got to the resort this year I called housekeeping. I introduced myself and told them how long we were going to be there. Then very nicely I asked them if we could have our room cleaned between 9:30 and 1:30. That way its wasn't too early if we got a late start and the room would be cleaned when we came back. They were very nice and accomodating about it. I told them if it was a problem I would understand. They said it was no problem and would be happy to grant us our request. It worked out wonderful. :flower:
