Hello....We had a wonderful time right in-between the hurricanes. We stayed at the Hard Rock for a week. They (believe it or not) downgraded our room and put us in a small room which was not very comfortable for the 5 of us. But I did write a letter and got a free night for our next visit and a free upgrade to a queen room for the rest of the stay... The parks there were great with front of the line access. We went to Sea world one day which was fun..and out to the Gulf coast to Caladesi Island for a day trip which was beautiful. Then the second week we went to Disney and stayed at the Poly which was super.

Glad u had a good trip strange they down graded u:crazy: but still at least u spoke up:jester:

How did you end up being downgraded ?! we will be staying there in December and I just wonder how that could happen !?

Did you get a refund for the downgrade? We were at the HRH in August of '03 and were supposed to have a top floor, pool view. When we got to the room, I noticed that the pool view was obstructed by a palm tree. I called the front desk, but they said that there was nothing available on the 5th floor until the next day. When the bellman arrived with the luggage, I repeated my complaint. He phoned the front desk and was able to arrange for a reduction in the room rate.

We were told there was damage to the Queen rooms. I asked when our luggage was delivered about the water damaged rooms and he said there was no water damage. Then I asked every employee I talked to the rest of the week about water damage and they all said there was no damage to any of there rooms from the hurricane. The hotel must have overbooked because I called every morning to see if we could be put in the correct room and was told no. We got a discount off the room to $149 a night and no charge for the cot and the same rate over the weekend. We got a pool room view at least when I kept asking at check in for at least that.

You may find that there was water damage and the other employees where told to act as if the hurricane had not affected the hotel so anot to frighten future stays:jester:
