We had a wonderful time, the resort was lovely, as was the villa. There is SO much activity going on constantly at this resort, even more so than Vistana Resort. And the pool areas are better than Vistana pools too, or at least I thought so. They have an amazing splash lagoon that my kids loved and didn't want to leave ---- not sure how much older kids would like this pool since it only goes up to about 4 feet, but there is another set of pools at the West End of the resort that would better accomodate teens and adults w/out kids. DH played golf and enjoyed the course. The game room that was in the main clubhouse was vast, and they had shuffleboard and ping pong tables in there as well. They also had a movie theatre, we did not go to it though. We originally were placed in one of the older West Village villas -- it looked sort of run down and it didn't have a jacuzzi or a screened in porch. Since I won my week's stay for next to nothing on Skyauction, I wasn't sure if they would accomodate my request for a change to the North End of the resort, by the Splash Lagoon, but they did. These were MUCH nicer and newer with screened in patios and big jacuzzis. Here are some pics:

Our villa (building 3631) in the North Village. It was walking distance to the Splash Lagoon and North Village Clubhouse:

I never did take any pics of the bedrooms. I kept meaning to, but everytime I walked in to do it, the beds weren’t made. :p Imagine that. The master bedroom was huge with a TV in an entertainment unit, and the jacuzzi is off the master bedroom. The second bedroom is good size w/two twin beds and a TV.

Any questions, feel free to ask. We enjoyed our week long stay at OLCC – we spent 3days before at the Swan and 3 days after at AKL so it was a nice break off property. I highly recommend it if you plan to actually take advantage of the resort-if all you need is a place to sleep and plan to hit the parks from morning until night, its not the place for you, but if you want a nice, relaxing and homey type of place to have a down day or two,its great. We’d stay there again, especially at $500 per week, what I paid through Skyauction

Thank you for your review  It sure sounded very sincere and honest. I'm glad you had a nice stay. I'm helping a friend plan for a week onsite and a week offsite for next May and it looks like going thru Sky Auction might help the save a few $$.

:scratchin

Thanks for the report and the pictures. My inlaws booked it for our future trip to WDW and I had no idea what i would be like. Thanks for setting my mind at ease! I'm really looking forward to it now!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and especially the great pictures.

I'm glad you had a nice time there.

My friends are staying there in October. They are taking their kids to WDW for the first time.

How far from the parks would you say OLCC is? They have their own transportation.

Thanks :D

Lori, the location is the one thing we did not like about OLCC. I prefer Cypress Pointe or the Vistana for location, as we also visit Universal and/or Seaworld on most trips and those two are more centrally located. Also, the traffic on 192 as opposed to 535 (where CP and Vistana are) is pretty bad. We got caught in a couple of huge traffic jams, we had to remind ourselves we weren't at home at rush hour! The resort is pretty close to AK, about 15 minutesdoor to door, closer to 20/25 to MK and Epcot.

Another not so great thing about OLCC-- if you are in the North Village, it takes about 5-10 minutes to get OUT of the complex. The resort is huge, the light to get out on 192 is loooooooong, and its likely you'll get behind a golf cart on the road leading out. I guess they do their timeshare pitches on those carts, we found them maddening when we wanted to leave in a hurry. You just gotta tell yourself not to be in a hurry, its vacation, I guess.:)

great pictures! i'm staying at olcc for a week in august on a rci timeshare switch. i called and requested the north section for splash lagoon. I have kids 3 and 1. i heard the pools in this section are perfect for small children. is this true? is the east section a lot nicer than the north? is there a pool in the east?

We didn't visit the East section at all, but they looked nice. They are multi story buildings, while the buildings in the West are one story, and two stories in the North sections. The North section is where you'll want to be with children that young -- the Splash Lagoon is perfect for children from ages 1-10. There is a zero entry so the tiny ones can play in there without having to worry about them falling in water that is over their head.

I do not use skyauction. Is it one of those places like priceline that does not let you pick your particular hotel only the location? Or do you just bid like e bay.

On our first trip we stayed in the west village in an older unit...It was fine. This time we got a newer unit...It was great but I would still stay if I was in the older units again.

Love the resort...I have pics of the bedrooms if you need them for your archives...The beds were made in the pics because I take pictures of all rooms at check in to show what was where.:wave2:

PhotobearSam - I'd love to be able to show my friends the photos of the bedrooms if you wouldn't mind?

Photbear Sam, yes, please add your pics with the bedrooms to this thread, that way it could all be contained in one place. Thanks! :)

Bella, skyauction is a lot like ebay, but you are bidding on a specific (in most cases) timeshare unit for a specific week. I was hesitant about using them at first, but this is our 3rd time staying in a villa won on a skyauction bid, and we've been 100% satisfied. :)

I have them on my computer but I don't know how to post them on this thread...I'm not a computer:confused:  person.

I can email them to people...I think:crazy:

DH is getting on a disc for me to bring to the office and I will send them asap...::yes::

THANK YOU! I can't wait to see more pictures! Thank you both!
We will be at OLCC November 26-December 5 in a 3 bedroom unit. My dhs friend couldn't use the week (he has lots he couldn't use) and let us have it for only $500 for the 9 nights, which I think was the fee to change the original week or whatever. My husband is thinking that if we like it there, we may buy a week and maybe my mom (who is taking us) will buy another week in front/behind our week making 2 weeks :) Anyway, I look forward to seeing more pictures even though I've already been to the web site.
:)

Always buy resale for a better price...

After I got home the last time I compared the price they quoted with a resale and the resale was MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper....

Always buy resale...:wave2:
