What has been the most important school subject in your adult life?

A 10th grade class called "general business." Very basic accounting, budgeting and learning how to reconcile a checkbook.

Math for me also. I handle all the financial things in our household and math is very useful!

Introduction to Mass Communications my Freshman year of College.

Home Economics. I learned how to sew, cook, set a table, proper etiquette, and so much more. I also still use the shorthand I learned in high school.

I guess overall I most often use what I will lump into English. Reading, writing, vocabulary…. All part of every day. Next I suppose might be the general category of Math.

I actually had two - Typing and Shorthand. I worked as a legal secretary (a/k/a an executive administrative assistant) for 36 years before retiring in 2008. 😁

The same for me. We also learned how to write checks and balance a check book. I know that's not what people do now with computers, but it helped me alot as a young adult. The cooking was really helpful. The sewing gave me a life long hobby that I love. I used to put all the zippers in for the other students because I loved doing zippers??!!! Crazy, I know. Home Ec was a course you had to take and you could continue it from 9th to 12th grade if you wanted.
Also typing helped a lot.

None of my school subjects - from English Literature to Physics - turned out particularly useful in real life. My vocational studies in Hypnotherapy, Counselling and Life Coaching were far more profitable.
