Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Awesome binder. If only I could be half that creative. It looks very organized. Nice job!

And your Vera is very pretty. Love the colors!

I love the folder! It's so organized and well themed. OK so I'm type A...these kinds of things excite me. :rotfl:

Planning Binder looks great and I love your notebook too v cute :)

The one thing I miss is really having my planning binder out and add/changing thing around. Would kinda of put a damper on the suprise huh? :rotfl:
I like your bag, I just have a plain black mini backpack. Boring!;)

I love it, especially the puzzle cover! That's a great idea to have puzzles for the plane. I slept the whole way but it was a pretty short trip for us.

Thanks - I was pretty impressed with it myself! :thumbsup2 With the flight being so long I need something to keep me going! I wish our flight was a bit sshorter but oh well at least it will be worth it! :)

I love your binder and how organized everything is! The puzzle cover is awesome! :thumbsup2 And the note-taking sounds like a smart idea; the perfect thing to do while waiting in long lines or for a show to start. The only way I can remember some of the events that happened on my last trip is because DF came up with the game to find chapter titles.

Only a few more months left to go! :woohoo: (Hopefully Dessert Party reservations will open up soon!)

Thank you! I love organising things - can you tell?! That's what I thought as well. I do not have a great memory so am likely to forget quite a lot of things if I don't write them down. Lol, I love the chapter titles game - that was a great idea!

I know - the trip is getting near! :woohoo: Even Zaheer is starting to get a little excited!! I hope the Dessert Party opens up - don't think it is usually this late and there are rumours on the thread that it may not be continuing. I sure hope this is not the case.

Your binder looks great... way more organized than my spiral notebook, LOL!

I, too, an anxiously waiting to book the Dessert Party for September!!! It's driving me bonkers that September isn't opened up yet.

Thanks - am sure your notebook looks great! At least it will not be heavy to carry. I'm starting to worry about the weight of the folder! It'll come in handy on the plane but once we are at Disney it will probably remain in our room. I think I feel better knowing it is to hand though.

Me too!! You think they would hurry up and open it now!! How much longer do we have to wait? There are rumours that it may not be continued - I'm so hoping they are not true.

Great job on your binder! It looks fantastic!! Love it!!

Thank you! :goodvibes I love it too though it is driving Zaheer mad the amount of time I am spending on it! I keep reminding him that he will thank me once we are at Disney and I know exactly what we are doing!

Awesome binder. If only I could be half that creative. It looks very organized. Nice job!

And your Vera is very pretty. Love the colors!

Thank you! I'm not very creative - trust me when you see my drawing at Animation Academy you will see what I mean! The computer does all the work!

As a result of having an office job and then teaching I have to be organised in my job so it seems to stick in my personal life as well.

Thanks again! I can't wait to use it and love that it will go with most of my clothes! :thumbsup2

Great job on the binder, it looks awesome!

Thank you! :goodvibes It'll make me relax knowing I have everything to hand.

Lol, I'm the same. I'm very proud and excited over my folder! I think I definitely fall in the type A category! :rotfl:

Thanks! :) I'm pleased with the notebook - did consider buying one Disney related but then just thought to do a DIY job! ;)

Yep, having a planning binder out and about would definitely give away the game! I can't imagine not having my binder out and loking at things that I can change! Not long to go now and it will be soo worth it when you see DDs reaction! Can't wait to see the result! :thumbsup2
Thanks, I bet your backpack is practical though - my bag is certainly not that! ;)

Love the binder!!! Great job!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks!! I'm proud of the way it has all come together. At one point I thought it would remain empty!

I am really really really hoping they do the Party in September! I can't remember how I found out about it (I know it was here on the DIS) and this would be such a fun surprise for my mom's birthday!

I know on the site the only dates showing are through the end of July. If you manually enter your date, it will allow you to book through August. So I'm hoping that as of 8/1, if the September dates aren't showing then you can at least manually enter a September date and book it. We'll see!

Love the binder! Isn't it so much fun to make? I'm debating on whether or not I want to make another binder for this trip, I liked making it but I wasn't sure about using it, it seemed kind of annoying last year...we'll see! If I get bored enough I'll make one! :thumbsup2

I am hoping as well - hopefully everyone hoping on these boards will do the trick! ;)

That will def be a great surprise for your mom! :thumbsup2

Yes did hear about being able to enter dates manually for August a while back. Keep trying to do the same for Sept and may end up being lucky one day and being successful!

Thanks! Yes, it was soo much fun to make and seeing the end result was awesome! :thumbsup2

I'm the same - I know I will use it on the plane and then it will probably remain in the room as have transferred all the important details into our notebook. Think I will still take it though as I would feel sad at leaving it behind after putting so much effort into it :confused3

Look forward to seeing how yours turns out if you make one :)

:rotfl2: I think seeing the binder would be a huge suprise!, The only time I ever bring it out,(late at night or if I'm home alone) is when I had to add a recipt or travel info. Then it get tucked away in my bottom drawer, under my jammies.

My backpack is practical, fits rain gear, telephoto lens, camera, and has many little pocket inside. It's so little, Kadence likes carrying it around on her back!!

Hi Tanz.

I was waaaaaay behind and have now caught up. Your plans continue to look awesome especially with the addition of MNSSHP. I have a few comments. Sorry, these are old topics.

- I do not see the Main Street Electrical Parade in you plans. I recommend that you find a time to see it. Although I prefer Spectro, the MSEP parade is worth seeing. If you go on the 18th to the EMH night you may want to get there early enough to see it. Otherwise you can try on 9/26 but it may be tight if dinner at AP takes a long time.

- On your Things to do/explore at Pop I recommend exploring the resort at night as well as day. At night when the buildings and icons are lit there, it is more magical to me. Also, if you plan to take pictures go up the stairs in some of the buildings for different vantage points.

-Awesome news on Chef Majidi. This is one of the things that really differentiates Disney compared to other destinations. They really do a superb job accommodating to dietary restrictions.

- On your MNSSHP night I have a suggestion on seeing the dwarves if you decide to get to them early. Since you will probably need to spend some time eating but don't want to cut into party time with a sit down meal, grab some CS meals to go and then head over to line up early to the line at 6:30 or earler and sit and eat while waiting. I should have thought of that the time we went since we killed a lot of time waiting on that line and then after that killed more party time eating.

- Your planning binder looks great! On the packing list for the parks there are a few other items you may want to consider: extra memory cards for camera and tape for camcorder, extra batteries, rain ponchos and a small flashlight if you are going to be out late.

:lmao: Yes it definitely would be a huge surprise! Can you imagine how excited Kadence would get but at the same time it would ruin the surprise element! Lol love how it is tucked away and only ever comes out when the coast is clear! ;)

I thought it would be! We are thinking of getting a practical backpack for Zaheer (something small) so he can carry anything that will not fit in my bag.

Hi Clearskies! Thank you for catching up! I know, I can't wait for our trip to arrive - we are thinking of starting to pack in a couple of weeks time so think it will sink in that we are going even more then (not that it hasn't already!)

Please don't apologise for your comments - as I have said earlier I appreciate your input in our plans and it is one of the reasons why I love these boards as you get to hear the opinions of others that have already been to Disney World.

MSEP was in our original plans and then can't believe I forgot to include it when things got moved around. I'm hoping to book the Wishes Dessert Party for the 18th so if I am successful in doing this then will not be able to watch MSEP on this night. However, I will try and fit it in on our last night. It may be a bit tight after our Artist Point dinner but I'm going to try my best to catch some of it on our last night. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have planned some time to take evening snaps at Pop - probably after our second AK day. I didn't think about going on the stairs for picture taking. I will tell Zaheer to do that so we get different perspectives.

I know - although I've mentioned it before this truly made our day!! Although I would have been happy eating as a Pescetarian at Disney it is nice to have that option of being able to eat meat during our two week stay.

I already have included a CS to go for our meal at MNSSHP but did not think of waiting in line for the Seven Dwarfs whilst eating. Another great tip that I will be using.

Thanks! I already have the stuff mentioned on other lists that I did not take pictures of however do not have flashlight on the list so will be adding that on.

I have missed your input in our PTR. Thank you for the comments :goodvibes

Hi everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

I caught up with another movie this week but did things a little different.

I actually made some food to go with the movie (about time right?) I wanted to do a proper theme and post a picture of the movie on our door and print out some activities. However the remainder of our printing paper got used on our planning binder so I need to get some more – hopefully the next movie will be a full theme night.

Can you guess the movie from the food pics?

To start I had some Tuscan Minestrone Soup.

This was followed by pasta shells with prawns and pasta sauce.

For dessert I had chocolate and vanilla ‘wave’ ice cream with strawberries.

So did you get it? The movie I watched was The Little Mermaid.

I thought I had never seen this movie however it looked familiar so I must have seen it at some point in my past life! Flounder was awesome and I think I may have found my all time favourite Disney song. Okay there are others that come close but I love 'Part of your world'! I had to play it again once the movie had finished! :lovestruc I hope to be able to get the soundtrack for this one as the other songs were good as well.

I also need your opinions for our next few movie nights. I have three/four more movies that are on my must see list and then I'm not sure which ones to watch. So do you have an all time favourite that I haven't watched yet. If so please let me know what it is and I will add it to the list.

Can't believe we have just over two months to go until our trip!! I'm soo excited!!! :yay:

Very nice theming! Love the vanilla 'wave' ice cream

The Little Mermaid is a wonderful movie and one of our favorites :lovestruc and Part of Your World holds a special place in my heart.

I can't remember all that you've done now! :rotfl: Hop on to the Disney theme night thread for some ideas. :thumbsup2

Ooooh, I love the Little Mermaid! I just discovered a few days ago that my DVD is MISSING!! I have to order a new one, it's annoying because it's in the vault! :confused3

I love all the music in that movie, it's perfect, and Part of Your World is probably one of my favorite Disney songs ever! :lovestruc

Hmmm...I can't remember what you've watched so far! Have you done Peter pan yet? It's such a Disney classic...Cinderella is good too! I'm saving those for when I get closer to my trip, because they remind me SO much of the parks! What about the Toy Story movies, you could do a whole theme weekend with those! Have you seen the Nightmare before Christmas? If not, maybe watch that closer to your trip too, to get you in a Halloween mood, since you're doing MNSSHP now! :thumbsup2

There is a Disney theme night thread? Where???
