Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

I think you'll be fine going....leaving for home may be a different story! It's so exciting going that I never find I have jetlag on overseas flights, but coming home I always do

That's what my feeling is as well - I'll be fine on the journey going but the flight home will be a different story altogether! I'm the same as you - think it's the excitement of having something to look forward to where as on the way back you are sad at having to leave the place

I have to pipe in my 2 cents on Chef TJ...hands down best there is! When he was the Chef at Boma he walked the buffet line with me and tried to get me to try the falafel...no way!!! He kept checking on us during our meal and then told me he was going to make me a special falafel. He brought deep fried oreos that he made special for us to our table....I have a picture...he is the best there is!!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience of Chef TJ...I can't wait to try some of his food! Oh wow what a great thing for him to do...above and beyond the call of duty! I hope you enjoyed the special falafel he made for you

Hi everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I got my hair and nails done yesterday and love them - will share pics on our return!

Can't believe I am about to say this but...

2 days until we leave for our Disney World trip!!!!​

I'm sooooo excited!!!!

My suitcase and hand luggage is all packed with my planning folder, passport, tickets and things to keep me going on the plane journey!

I believe I have one park left to mention with regards to favourite attractions. So, which one will it be at AK.

The yeti came second but I'm soo looking forward to spending time on a safari and seeing the giraffes, lions and zebras. Having seen some great pics of the safari on here I can't wait to experience this for myself! So, what is your favourite at AK - I know the park does not get that many positive reviews on here but I am really looking forward to taking in everything AK has to offer.

I have made a poster to put up on our room window (it is hard to find window clings in the UK and I'm not creative enough to make them) so as of now this is what will be on our window. I may add to this as our trip progresses. My little sister helped me make this and was very proud of her input

I also made some LGMHs for my park bag.

If you see me at all please come and say hello.

As this is my final proper update before I leave I also thought I would share something as a thank you for sticking with me through all my plans and changes! I really appreciate all the support I have received and can't wait to share all our experiences with you

Note: For any English teachers reading along (disneydreamingdebby and therussells08 spring to mind) can you kindly erase the teachers marking criteria from your memory before continuing!

Tuesday, Tuesday is the day (replace this with tomorrow if you are reading this on a Monday!)
I have been waiting for ever so patiently (yeah right!)
Not long to go until we leave for our first Disney stay
Hoping to get some sleep along the way
Then it will be time to arrive at Pop
Hoping to fall in love with this place a lot
Looking forward to meeting Mickey and Minnie
Having lots of fun and acting really silly
Can't wait to visit all the parks
Take it all in and leave my mark
After two weeks I will be very sad
Oh well at least I have my friends on these boards to keep me from going mad!​

It is just something I put together that I wanted to share with you!

Once again thank you everyone for reading along and sharing your advice/opinions - they really mean a lot and am sure will help during our trip.

I will be on here again to do replies, post some mini updates (like it being time to leave!!!) and join in some single digit dances! However, bye for now

P.S If I you are leaving for Disney World whilst we are on our trip and I don't manage get round to your PTR before Tuesday have a SAFE and MAGICAL trip!! I look forward to reading all about it on your return.

I know AK doesn't get a lot of positive posts, however, it really is wonderful and magical in it's own way! I love the shopping there because you can pick up some different things that you don't see anywhere else!

My favorite ride is EE, but my favorite attraction is FOTLK I could actually spend the whole day waiting for and seeing that show, it never gets old for me!

2 DAYS!!! AHHHH I can't believe your trip is almost here!!! 2 days out, I'm pretty much going insane, so I'm sure you are too!

Expedition Everest is my favorite AK ride, no question! But the Safari is awesome too! Don't let the negative AK talk ruin your time there, it's a beautiful park, especially the Asia section, and it's a lot of fun. Yes, it's my least favorite park, but I still love it! I think you will really enjoy it!

Fav AK ride is FOTLK I know its a show but I missed it last trip and I have been sad ever since so it it my fav. If you insist on a ride I would go with EE, what a great coaster that is!!!

You are going to have such a good time! I just know it.

When I traveled overseas last year to France, the time change threw me for a loop at first. I was running on pure adrenaline, but by the time I had been up for 36 hours (due to layovers and not being able to sleep on the plane), I had to stop. I distinctly remember walking around Disneyland Paris feeling like I was drunk.

My favorite ride at Animal Kingdom is kind of hard. I like both Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. I think I'm probably in the minority with Dinosaur. I just find it to be fun and I love getting on the ride with newbies.

I absolutely LOVE Animal Kingdom. It is my second favorite park after the Magic Kingdom. It's very peaceful and it's a lot of fun to go on the trails and watch the animals. The safari is definitely one of my favorites along with Expedition Everest and Dinosaur (even though it still terrifies me a little. haha).

I love how the window decorations turned out - it also meant I got to spend some quality time with my sister before we leave esp as she is not coming with us.

Ooh another RnR fan - will def have to brave that ride during our trip.

I hope we feel the same way about AK as I have quite high expectations from this park. Ooh shopping...of course I will have to do some of that! I just get our US Dollars today and am looking forward to spending them already!

EE is another one I am riding solo so think that's why I went with the safari. I didn't think of the shows however am sure we will fall in LOVE with FOTLK - what's not to about that show? I'm really hoping to get a seat in the Lion section but think I will be happy no matter where I am seated.

Don't worry about it Kathy - I know all too well how many things need to be done before a trip! I have not commented on your PTR yet as wanted to do a single digit dance for you tomorrow - it is tomorrow right? If not you are still getting a single digit dance!

Thanks Natalie!! I am sooo excited and yes we have a meet scheduled on my last day - get thinking about ways of cheering me up when you see me as I will be close to tears!

You can't have FOTLK on it's own as it's a show so am happy to see that you have included a ride as well - 2 for the price of 1! I can't wait for FOTLK either and I will attempt a ride on EE on my own - I sure hope I have an understanding person sat next to me as I am going to be nervous beforehand.

You travelled to France last year? How come I don't know about this and where's your TR girl?! Yay I have experienced that - I try not to get too pumped up on the adrenaline as I only regret it later - like you said you end up feeling like you have come back after a rough night out!

Oh I forgot about your love of Dinosaur - how could I do that? Especially as I know how keen you are to see Farrell completely freaking out on her first ride!

I saw your pics of the Safari and absolutely loved them! I'm hoping ours will turn out half as good. I can't wait to experience the park and take in the peacefulness and great surroundings. I have the trails included in our plans. Zaheer is an animal lover so think he will have fun on the trails.

Lol am pretty sure you will be seeing a terrified face on me on Dinosaur as well (that's if you see my face at all! May be hiding it on second thoughts! )

I know - can you believe how close we are to this trip? I'm actually calm and collected - I know I don't know how either. I think it is because we are all set. I'm pretty sure it will sink in when we leave for the airport!

I had a feeling you may be saying EE! Yay, I'm glad you think the safari is awesome and can't wait to get on one of those jeeps! I'm looking forward to our 2 days at AK and am not letting the views on here spoil my fun! We all have different likes/dislikes so until I experience the park for myself I will not now how I feel towards it. Lol, reading your post is making me excited about spending time at this park though!

I can't wait for that moment either! As I mentioned I can't believe how calm I am at the minute - it is unreal! I am waiting for that minute when it sinks in that we are actually leaving for Disney World!!!!

LOL that is soo true!!! You should my suitcase - it is so heavy! I'm pretty sure it is over the 20kg allowed allowance - I mean really how is a girl meant to take everything with an allowance like that!
