Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Their little puppies are too cute too :)

I can send you our check list if you like. It doesn't have all the Disney Movies on there because we don't tend to buy certain movies like Santa Buddies etc But it has all the main ones :) Let me know if you want it :)

Ooh yes treat yourself to it, such a brilliant movie. One thing I don't get though is why this movie got such a better reception than Princess and the Frog (sorry to go off here), I loved them both equally, yet Tiana didn't get as much love as Rapunzel :(

They sure were cute! :cutie:

Thanks Stefy that would be great! :) I'll probably still continue in a random order but at least that will give me an idea of the number of movies I need to get through!

It sure is a brilliant movie. I'm sorry but I watched both Princess and The Frog and Tangled at a similar time - had seen the first one in the pics but had forgotten the details of the movie. Anyway, I have to say I enjoyed the movie Tangled a lot more. As for the princesses although I loved the way Tiana was independent I just seemed to have more love and understanding for Rapunzel. Sorry!

Hi everyone!! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!! As soon as I have done this update I'm off to watch the football! Manchester United are going to be presented with a trophy today! :cheer2: However, some local teams may be relegated to a lower division so do feel bad for them.

Anyway back to Disney World and I was looking into Pop Century Resort and all the things I wanted to do here during our stay. Although we have planned a Resort hopping day I don't want to miss out on exploring the resort we are actually staying at. So, I made a list of things to explore/do at Pop Century Resort.

1. Take photos of the memorabilia on the walls in the Classic Hall.

Pop20Century20006-1.jpg

2. Take a photo of us in the 1980s cut out (the era we were born in!)

3. Swim in the Bowling Pin and Hippy Dippy pool.

9. Visit the iconic Mickey phone.

10. Have a game of Twister! I have had some fun and laughs with this game!

Pop20Century20044-1.jpg

11. Walk the path with all the birth years and take photos of the ones that are special to us.

12. Say hello to Mr & Mrs Potato Head!

13. Spell our names and random words on the gigantic keyboard!

14. Find some Hidden Mickeys.

15. Visit the arcade.

Hopefully, we will be able to get to do these things during our stay. If you think of something I have forgotten please let us know.

Question of the week: What is your favourite Disney resort and why?

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! :)

That's a great way to check out the resort. I love your list.

I've never seen lady and the tramp:sad2: That's another movie to add to the list.

Thank you! I wanted to make sure we appreciated Pop Century and actually spent some time at the resort we are staying at!

Definitely add Lady and the Tramp to your list - it is awesome! :)

Good morning Tanz!

That is a great lineup you have....Pop Century is such a fun resort! Jasmine and I stayed there in 2006 and we were in the building with Lady in front of it...just a few feet fromt he Bowling Pin Pool! We really loved that resort and all the fun things to do!

Hmmm....our favorite resort? I have two...is that ok? First All Star Music...first resort we ever stayed at when Jasmine had just turned six and I can still picture her little and wide eyed at everything around her! She loved the statue of Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian by the Piano Pool and since then everytime we stay at ASMu, I take a photo of her there! We usually request the Broadway Buildings because they are at the back of the resort and very quiet...and we love the piano pool, never crowded and so relaxing!!

My second favorite resort is Saratoga Springs! The was our first deluxe resort and I fell in love! We were in a two bedroom villa in the Grandstand Section...our suite was literally steps from the bus one way and the pool the other! We loved that they had a drink refill station right by the pool and how quiet our pool was when we would go back for an afternoon break. It didn't matter to us that we were further away from the main buildings because we had breakfast in our rooms every morning!

Last time we didn't spend too much time exploring the resort, but this trip we have scheduled time for that as well

My favourite resort that I have stayed at is the Contemporary. I stayed there in 09 with the girls by myself and the convenience of that resort since the girls were 5&7 was fantastic!!!

My favourite resort I want to stay at is the Grand Floridian and I am hoping we can stay there next year (or POR, whichever I can afford)

Pop looks like such a fun resort! If we end up going in May, I'm doing that trip SUPER cheap, so we will most likely stay at Pop! :cool1: Did you request a certain section? When I had a trip booked there (when I was planning my 2009 trip, it originally started off at Pop...then we upgraded to CBR...then WL ) I think I requested the 50's section, top floor facing the lake. I don't remember why, but I know I had my reasons! I wanted to be near Lady and the Tramp, I think, and I wanted a view of the lake!

My favorite Disney resort is either the Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club! I think I'd have to say I like WL a little more than BC, just because it was our first deluxe, and how special that trip was and everything, but I really do love BC too! :)

They sure were cute! :cutie:

I get it, each to their own :)

You watched GG yet?

Great resort day, sounds like it will be lots of fun :thumbsup2

Well, so far I've only stayed at ASMovies... but I've been inside the WL and LOVE it! Really hoping to stay there one day!

And I'm really looking forward to staying at Pop in September!

Question of the week: What is your favourite Disney resort and why?

Well, I can't say enough about about POR ;) But I am looking forward to discovering POP.
Just reading of your POP plans makes me excited to see those things. I think we're going to enjoy staying there!

Fun list for Pop! I am worried that you won't have time to explore other resorts since you have so much to do at yours!!!

Favorite, hmmm...I don't have one. I like each of them for different reasons!

Great idea with a list of things to do at POP. Hope you don't mind I'm stealing it to take along. We watched Lady and Tramp two weeks ago. DD's favorite. We have our fingers cross we get in that building. Oh and the cat song teaches kids to share. LOL been listeng to it in car and they share nicely with each other.

Pop Century looks like a lot of fun! I would like to stay there someday. I can't really name a favorite resort because I've only stayed at one (AllStar Music). I'm looking forward to Coronado Springs though. I think that I most want to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It looks amazing! Hopefully when we visit the resort for dinner I will convince Matt that we have to stay there on a future visit to Disney.

I feel like writing Good Morning Queen even though I know it is not!! Because of the time difference it was actually late morning for us - I love my weekend sleep too much to wake up early!!

Thank you - I have requested the same area you and Jasmine stayed in but will have to see if my request is granted. It sure looks like we are going to have a lot of fun at this resort.

Of course two is ok. I love to hear your responses - I do admit on posting this question I did think it may be a bit of a toughie compared to the others! I love the way you described Jasmine's reactions to everything - I can't imagine her being six! The quiet area/pool sounds great.

I don't hear many people raving about Saratoga Springs so it is good to read that you rate it highly amongst the deluxe resorts. Yay on having the essentials of the bus, pool and drink refill station right on your doorstep!

We normally get offers for OKW and SS in the UK so may look into them for a future trip. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on AKL as that also looks like a great deluxe resort.

Yay, time set aside for exploring the resort is a great idea!! I would regret not doing that especially if we never stayed there again. Before making the list I knew what I wanted to do on our resort hopping day but not at Pop! Am sure we will all have a POPtastic time - sorry couldn't help it!

I would love to stay at Contemporary for the convenience of being near MK - being able to wake up and walk to MK must have been great!!

GF sounds good though personally I would rather stay at POR - however it could be a different story once I have visited the resorts!!

Pop looks like such a fun resort! If we end up going in May, I'm doing that trip SUPER cheap, so we will most likely stay at Pop! :cool1: Did you request a certain section? Pop sure is fun! That is cool that you will be staying at Pop in May! :thumbsup2 Okay I know I have not even been on my first Disney vacation but I am already thinking that if I went again I would like to stay at the new animation resort (in The Lion King Area) or Port Orleans!! :rolleyes1 However then I think of the deluxes and would love to try Beach Club or AKL! :rotfl:

I have requested to be in the 50s section building 3 - hopefully a nice quiet room facing the lake. It seems I have put in the request you did in 2009!! Lol at upgrading to CBR and then WL - seems like you made a great decision. I have to agree with you in that it is hard making all these decisions so far out!

WL sure is special for you guys and for that reason will always be dear to your heart :lovestruc I love the sound of BC and having recently read a great review of SAB would love to stay there one day! :cloud9:

I get it, each to their own :)

You watched GG yet?

Great resort day, sounds like it will be lots of fun :thumbsup2

Cool! :cool1:

No, I could have watched it yesterday but caught up on The Apprentice instead - I kept hearing about what happened with this programme so needed to watch it before I found out the results. As not many of my friends watch GG I knew I would be safe on saving that one.

I am at home tomorrow (hence the reason for being on here so late!) so after I have completed the second half of an application that needs doing by tomorrow I will be watching GG - can't wait to find out how the series ends!! :yay:

Well, so far I've only stayed at ASMovies... but I've been inside the WL and LOVE it! Really hoping to stay there one day!

And I'm really looking forward to staying at Pop in September!

I'm reading a TR of ASMovies at the minute and it looks pretty cool! :cool1: I keep hearing great things about WL - can't wait to visit it for our dinner at Artist Point! Hope you get to stay there one day.

Of course Pop is going to be awesome!! ;)

Well, I can't say enough about about POR ;) But I am looking forward to discovering POP.
Just reading of your POP plans makes me excited to see those things. I think we're going to enjoy staying there!

Lol!! POR does look great and I was listening to a radio session about their new Royal Rooms coming soon which seems very exciting!!

Yep, am also looking forward to exploring POP! I read a TR on here a while back that had a scavenger hunt at the Pop and it looked like soo much fun. I would love to do something like that but with it being just the two of us will probably not be as entertaining.

I can't wait to see all the things on our list either. We sure are going to have a blast! ;)

Just popping in to say hello, Tanz! :wave2: Now, I'm going back to read!

Kathy

Hello Kathy! :welcome: and thank you for reading! :goodvibes

Fun list for Pop! I am worried that you won't have time to explore other resorts since you have so much to do at yours!!!

Favorite, hmmm...I don't have one. I like each of them for different reasons!

Thanks Debby! Haha I know I am worried that I am fitting too much into the two weeks we will be there! Instead of removing things I just keep adding and adding and adding...:rolleyes1

Cool, I can't wait to visit all the different resorts!

Thank you! :goodvibes I definitely don't mind - steal away! Am glad I could be of help. I loved Lady and The Tramp and am also requesting that building - hopefully they will be able to grant all our requests! Yes, the cat song sure teaches kids to share - 'we are siamese if you please' lol!! :rotfl:

Pop Century looks like a lot of fun! I would like to stay there someday. I can't really name a favorite resort because I've only stayed at one (AllStar Music). I'm looking forward to Coronado Springs though. I think that I most want to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It looks amazing! Hopefully when we visit the resort for dinner I will convince Matt that we have to stay there on a future visit to Disney.

I'm looking forward to staying at Pop Century! No worries at not being able to name a favourite - you have stayed at one resort more then me! CS does look great - we actually started with wanting to make a reservation at this resort but after crunching numbers POP meant we had that extra bit of spending money to take with us.

I also love the look of AKL and definitely would like to stay there one day. Zaheer loves animals so am also hoping eating at Boma and Sanaa will encourage him to want to stay here one day! Maybe we should team up and try and encourage the pair of them - two heads are better then one and all that! ;)

POP is a nice resort...I've haven't done most of the things on your list! I did swim in the bowling pin pool though. It's one of the 'quiet' pools so it was nice for break.

My favorite resort...hmm. I don't think there's any way I could pick only one!

I've stayed at all ASMo, ASMu, AS Sports, POP, POFQ, and AKL. Of those I really loved POFQ and AKL.

Of the others I haven't stayed at, I really love GF. I remember going there as a child and loving the 'fanciness' of it. It's just a really beautiful place.

Am glad to hear that - can't wait for it to be September!! :rotfl: I have heard that the bowling pin pool is better for relaxing then the main one so will def be spending a little time in this pool.

It is a tough one, isn't it? ;) I'm visiting POFQ and AKL - can't wait to see the resorts and I think one day I may want to stay at AKL. It looks gorgeous.

GF looks great but tbh out of the deluxe resorts it sort of comes towards the bottom of my list - however after seeing it I may completely change my mind!

Maybe we should team up and try and encourage the pair of them - two heads are better then one and all that! ;)

Great idea! I like the way you think. So it's a plan then. When we see each other at Sanaa it's operation convince the men to book another vacation at AKL. ;) :lmao:
