While I was sitting here chatting with you all my two darling sons were in front of the tv instead of playing nintendo like they were told. I had the office on in the background. Now I have to answer questions from 8 y/o about what is gay mean. Not happy here. Darn tv. I love that show but I get really tired of the adult topics on at 7pm. Got to get TIVO NOW!!!!!!

Now I have to answer questions from 8 y/o about what is gay mean. Not happy here. Darn tv. I love that show but I get really tired of the adult topics on at 7pm. Got to get TIVO NOW!!!!!!

My kids asked me that question early on because they heard kids at school using the phrase "your so gay" to other kids in a derogatory way. They took gay to mean happy. So I explained that sometimes a couple could be two men rather than a man and a woman and they use the term "gay". That was a simple enough answer for them and I'm actually glad they asked early. That way they can get bits and pieces as they are ready to hear and understand.

I do agree that there are certainshows (one's I like) that are just put on TV too early at night. We have DVR so we record and watch later!

Just had to tell you about the LGMHPCs I grabbed at HD today. I went in to see if they had replaced the last ones I had swiped. Low and behold, there they were just screaming to be taken, a whopping stack of 36!!!!! You better believe I grabbed every last one of them!

Nope they were right on!!

First I'd like to tell everyone that NSalz has grown into a very intelligent woman! ( I know she says "women" - that doesn't mean she's not intelligent, it just means she has a split personality...I guess they're both smart ...so NSalz has grown into very intelligent women!)

NSalz is a wonderful chef and baker etc. Everything she makes is scrumptious! Here's how it all started...NSalz's first ever baking experience!


When NSalz was about 6 or 7 years old (I think) she wanted to make a cake all by herself. Mom and Dad were very leary about this but she begged and begged (We all know how tiring that gets) so they finally gave in! But they were very firm with her. "You can make the cake, but you must follow the directions exactly. You have to read what it says on the box and do exactly what it says to do, If you don't follow the directions the cake will not come out right and you won't be able to bake alone again."

So NSalz sets about baking the cake, properly measuring etc. Dad sees that everything is going well so goes outside to the backyard for a few minutes. When he came back in there was little NSalz standing on a chair with her hand stuck right in the bowl in the middle of the batter...she was little, who know where that hand had been? Dad didn't know how to react but I'm sure it was something like.. What the **&*%^$& are you doing, NSalz?" Why is you're hand in the batter?

She replied..."i'm following the directions exactly....it says to mix by hand!"

This definately qualifies as the laugh of the day!!!!! Thanks Pd and the very intelligent woman!
