I agree with ya rer it has its ups and downs in all aspects (sp?) I am just helping out the manager since she is so busy and I still get a lot of the c**p. Even selling raffle tickets last night the other team refused to buy any from us. Give me a break a buck might kill ya. I have always been taught kill them with kindness. Right before the drawing I went up to one of their kids in the stands and had her draw the winning number. Once this was done I read it outloud and then thanked them all very very nicely for helping support our team and told them I would definately help support theirs when we come to their rink. Yep I'm sure I made lots of them feel like but hey it was only a buck. I just laughted to myself. Parents on my team cornered me later and were laughing at what I did. Told me it took lots of guts to do it. All I said is that I was just being nice to our visitors. Heck we killed them 8-0.

Yes....it is......in the actual story we were eating bowls of chocolate covered doughnuts.....and rather than going out for a walk, we went to watch a hockey game (that was for you and Rer...) Ahhhhhhh......I remember it well - we had a great night until we got home and saw our stuff all broken up! Crazy.....ah, warped, blond chick!!! (Was that YOU Kaw??!)

Yeah I've been working on weeding and we actually did a pretty good job. We still got the skateboard lady (Maybe you have all seen her on Discovery Health Channel) They are filming again which I have incredible problems with but that is another matter. This family won't last long. I've seen lots of these come and go in my 4 years of doing this. This kid won't make the top team next year and they'll be ticked and off they'll go. Apparently they were going to be really upset if he didn't make the D team this year. And to think my DH and I really made a case for them. The kid who didn't make the team is a great kid and is from a good family just was a year younger so has next year to transition.

With the little guys that is why when I retired from my board position I decided I would continue on with the first and second year program because as well as educating the kids on the game of hockey I really feel strongly about educating the families on what hockey involves and behavior issues and all that. Just got my zero tolerance speech prepared for the team meeting next week.

Like I said it gets better. As they get older you get rid of the BS. But then you always have the one who is living through their kids. Love them!!
