Yeah we have dreaded doing this. We never really told them about his prostate ca because he didn't have super aggresive type. But now I feel obligated to be somewhat open with them. Cody is just so sensitive and worries so easily. When he was in kindergarten his teachers husband died of cancer. He was young and left small children behind and it was quite a tragedy so cancer really freaks him out. It is hard for them to understand that there are so many different types etc. My kiddos are just so close to their grandpa especially cody. They build all kinds of stuff together and he is a devout builder and none of his kiddos or other grandkids enjoy that so he and cody have a special bond.

I understand your pain, my kids had lost my grandmom a short while before we learned that my dad had cancer too. (he is in remission, looks good so far)It is so hard to explain such compicated things in 'kid talk'.

Every single day at school I always see those people with the tight clothes, makeup and a barbie doll look. IT DRIVES ME INSANE! Nobody can be themselves.

Yeah Azure - I was out for most of this - and I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you shuld try to worry a little less (I know...I know...easy for ME to say...) But, REALLY very few people were THOSE people you are talking about - and we all end up ok.....

I was the shy, too tall, to crabby looking girl.....high school makes you label EVERYTHING and everybody.... Now, WAY too many years later thigns are SO different.

TRue story: last week had a person walk up to me at my sons back to school night. Now what used to be THE cutest, prettiest, most popular girl in school - is now just a short woman wiht bushy eyebrows!!! Not that I am happy to see this (!) but it was just proof that what we envy is some intangable............... Be yourslef and all will be fine!!!!! And stick with us !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup I am going to be there. My DD7 has decided she will join me too. (her birthday is that weekend. ) I still don't have an answer from DD10 or DH.

my momma is throwing me a par-tay tomorrow afternoon. i'm having my favoritest dinner ever:
Chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing corn and gravy! YUM! (plus hopefully i'll be getting some presents too...i do know i have three out wrapped in the living room from steve!)
