We used to buy peanuts and leave them out in a dish for the squirrels. WHen the dish was empty they would jump up and cling to our screen door and tap on it with their heads so we would bring them more!

Yeah well I know what those stupid rodents with big tails do with the peanuts/chestnuts etc. They look for places to hide them, correct? WELL, it seems that my flower bulbs taste better than the nuts and they switch the 2. SO in the spring when I wait for all my tulips to appear I get nada! I dig and find nut shells.

I never thought of peanuts! I place the chesnuts on the field next to my house! Dont want those rats near my house!

FYI! We now have 100's of small birds flying all over the place this am! Really weird!

The animals always know when something is changing in nature. They are a good way to tell what is happening Come to think of it I have been seeing alot more squirrels in my yard this year also as well as other creatures like birds and butterflies and such. Definitely going to be a cooler winter for us here in the south

They tried that one year with me. I had planted some avacado seeds. They took one and must have not liked the taste of it because they left the other two alone
