I really dislike all the work I have to do before i leave AHHHHHH!! My desk is a mess!!!

I laughed out loud when I read this!! Since I couldn't manage to clean my house before we left (oh, please...) - I made myself clean my desk. I was bragging yesterday to my coworker about how even though I'd been back almost 2 weeks ( ) my desk still looked great!!! She pointed out that I almost never work at my desk - I work mostly at a bench in the lab - which looks HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well.....

Definately NOT 100 rooms in my den - though we did have a reception and got 88 people in our house (not overngiht - just the evening)- eek! I still have bruises from that day! Totally niormal sized house.... BIG yard!!! Fun for cubs!!

I have bought limey shirt for the DGrBoys and Tinker Bell for the DGrD and Friend sooooo

I am thinking of making Lime Mickey tye dye shirts for everyone if I can escape from work for a few minutes. Any sugestion? I can remember how much mess there is? Can I do it in a Hotel room with out a problem? We travel alot for work.

They now have a spray paint you can spray on the shirts and make designs. I made some for us when we went down. easy to make.

Looks like with all of this involved you're both just going to have to come to my den to meet!!!!! We have a big pot!!! And some Old Bay - but no Crab Boil?! (I was JUST looking at a recipe for crab and corn chowder and they called for Crab Boil [capital letters - as in a Brand name...] - so here's a question - think they are interchangeable, recipe-wise??)

Do you hear brakes squeeling as I pull up in front of your house!! Man that sound so good! What should I bring....and when?! We may be up in Richmond sometime next month if Chip gets accepted in a program at Children's. That one is over on Sherwood near Boulvard And the Stadium side of town. Screening for it is end of this month. It is to put him on something to help strengthen his bones.

When is Veterans Day?! (I know columbus day....) - sorry, the lame-o calendar on my desk (from the dentist....go figure) doesn't tell you Holidays.

I dont live too close to 95 , unfortuantly....probably a lot more people would drop by if we did!! (When I lived in NC we were less than a mile off of 85 - people came by a lot more often - it was GREAT!) I guess it's 15 or 20 minutes off 95 (about 10 miles off.) From 95, the "Powhite Expressway" - exit #79 - is the easiest to get to my house... ok , and no Powhite jokes anyone, eh?!

Almsot time to go home!!!

Hey, now! Just because I live in CA doesn't mean I never see snow! In fact, I live just at the base of the highest mountain on So Cal, so we actually are closer to snow than the beach and we get snow here at my house about once or twice a year. Exhibit A: Here's my front yard in Nov 04:

Look at my poor palm tree! I have been skiing and snowboarding before, but am really not very good at either one. I'm pretty good with an innertube, though! To be honest, I'm no pro at surfing, either. That, and I'm gettin' old...don't have the flexibility and stamina I did 20+ years ago...

you aren't the only one. I don't ski, roller skate or boggie board anymore. I might jet ski & water ski, but not really sure onthem either! Takes to long to recover from the fall. There are times that I feel lucky I've dived in the pool correctly! And neither of us is getting any younger, just less flexable! and a little lime green moldy!

If its only 15 or 20 mins, thats not bad. It's probably easiest for me to come down I95. Just need the name of a town or something so I can rent a room. Veteran's Day is 11/11. The Holiday is 11/10-- which is my anniversary. Not sure if dh & ds can make it. I know the girls are off school. But the guys might have to work. Not sure dh will be happy with me going away on our anniversary. Also have to make sure Dobie can come too.

hello from the muthaland. i am having my break day right now. it has been an unbeleivably magical trip for me. yesterday i went to the barber shop in MK and the barbershop quartet came in and sarnaded me and sang me happy birthday. then last nightmy husband and i went to victoria and alberts and my husband wore his dress uniform at the end of the night we got our bill it was suppose to be over 200 bucks and it was just over 100 it puzzled us and then the wait staff brought out a card that said "thank for your service to our country and i hope you have a wonderful vacation." it was from someone in the dining room but they had already left...and they paid half of our bill! i thought that was soooo amazing. tonight we have the backyard BBQ and i can't wait!

Wow! Random acts of kindness like this restore my limited faith in humanity. That was a really terrific thing to do and to happen to you and your DH. Glad you're having a wonderful trip...it sounds just perfect. Looking forward to that TR when you get home.
