Well 2 more work days and then RECESS.

I stayed up way to late last night packing. So I'm pretty beat and going to head to bed early tonight.

Just got back from school roller skating night. I thought it would be a good place to confirm all my stuff. WRONG. Way too loud. Kids didn't clue in though.


I would say my packing is about 1/2 done which is pretty good for me.

I'm more concerned about getting all my little projects all done at this point. Really wanting to get cool costumes together for mnsshp but having a struggle at this point. Halloween is kind of our thing. We have several costume contest prizes to our names so I feel like I'm letting down the family if we just don't go all out but I don't see that happening this year.

Last year I made a black bull costume for the little one and his brother I made a matador costume. It was one of our winners. All my classic costuming ideas are just for Colo halloween which usually means blizzard so I'm really having issues with heat and costumes.

Boys will probably be just fine with pirate patches and hats but it is just not up to my standards. I just cannot construct pirate shirts at this point and I couldn't find any frilly shirts to convert at any of the 2nd hand stores. Oh well.

Hi Everybody Too exhausted to catch up...just happened to log on and for the first time in days and saw stynkerbelles's post. Nana (my mom...AKA the HDLGMH swipin' grandma) has been in the hpspital since last Friday. So between the hospital, school starting, and work, I haven't had a minute. Notice the time!!! I just want to say I miss everyone and will hopefully be back on soon.

Stanley only has until Nov 1st, but that would be great, wouldn't it? Even funnier, we could send something lime green around from SGC member to member and have them take pictures and then put together a photo essay. Like a lime green MH antenna ball or something. What a riot that would be.

Hey, limeys. I have a project for anyone who’s going to the mutherland or any other fun adventures soon and is willing to have a little bit of fun helping out my DD7. Her class is doing a Flat Stanley project (if you don’t know about Flat Stanley, you can find out more here http://flatstanley.enoreo.on.ca/ or google him or do a DIS search on “Flat Stanley” as others here have taken him on trips before). Basically, what would happen is that we would mail DD’s Flat Stanley to you and you would take him along on your adventures, log short diary entries of what he did and what adventures he had, and hopefully also get pictures of him at various sites/landmarks (with or without you). Then you would mail him back so she could share his adventures with her class. It’s kind of fun. I have seen a number of different projects similar to this. For instance, this little restaurant in downtown San Diego called The Cheese Shop has a Frisbee with its logo on it and people take it all over getting pictures of it at various sites around the USA/world and then they put the pics up on the restaurant walls. I even saw a thread here once in which a poster shared pics that her co-workers had from their collective trips with one of those Arby’s Oven mitts (see Oven Mitt: http://www.ihateovenmitt.com/). Anyway, if anyone would be interested in this, PM me. DD would need to have Stanley and the diary/photos back by the end of October at the latest. (Digital photos would be fine, as they could be emailed and we could easily have them printed rather than putting someone else to the trouble.) If we don’t find someone who will be doing something exciting to take him, we’ll have to send him to a less-than-exciting relative. LOL Poor Stanley. If he has to go to rural Kansas, he’s going to be really bored! Man, I sure wish I’d known about this when Teresa went on her 28-day vacation. That would have been awesome – think of the adventures Stanley could have had on that trip!

Oh we did Flat Stanley last year at DW. It was a trip. I took him everywhere and even go pictures with the characters and on rides. Yes people thought I was but I guess you already knew that. This would be a good job for Michele!
