our secret green club? Part 4

I just heard then swung around to watch the news. I am SOOOO angry! Seems your stupid congres is planning on building an ACTUAL wall between our two countries. What the h**ll? Like now we are considered the worst peeps on the face of the world to you. They plan on creating a MASSIVE concrete & iron supported wall topped with BARBED wire  Then they are gonna increase the information required for us to even enter your country. Already we will be required to bring a passport effective January 2007 --- in our country you need to get them for children after age 3 months, no smiles allowed and eyes open. Do any of you know how hard that is with a babe? We used to be able to have children up to aged 5 included in parent's passports.

Since we are not planning on coming till November 2009, I bet this stupid wall will be up and I am sooo worried that the trip will be off. I thought we had already torn down the wall in Germany... so what is with this?? I thought we were not just neighbours but friends. :confused3

:welcome: Foladar. As others have mentioned the paint chips are free, but what's the fun in just staight up walking in and walking out with some paint chips. There's a reason it's called swiping :) .

First off, you need to make up some excuse to go to HD. Maybe it's those plungers in their weekly ad for $3.59.

Next, head down to HD and find a good parking spot. I usually back into the commercial enterance for a fast getaway :car:. If anyone questions you just tell them your here to pick up a stack of 2x4's. :thumbsup2 Funny how how they never question how I'm getting a stack of 2x4's into my Mercury Sable :scratchin . Now you're in like Gin (is that a real saying?).

The next step is the swipe:
Some go for with the Red Hearing; asked to employee, "excuse me could you get me that can 5 gallon can of paint thinner from the top shelf?", now grab and go.
Others pull a David Blaine; as you walk :tiptoe: past the MHPC display you grab a stack of LGMHPC's and stuff them in your pocket/purse (this must be done in a quicker-than-the-eye :teleport: motion).
Another method I've heard of is the family grab and run. Basically this involves all members of the family taking some LGMHPC's. Any children with you that are unable to grab them on their own can be used as mules for transporting the PC's. This would include inside diapers, under kids in strollers, or in their pockets (beware of teething babies). The only hazard with the family grab and run is that one member may get snagged. This member will just have to take one for the team/family.

Finally, we come to the escape. Once in the vehicle and away from HD everyone involved does a count of LGMHPC's :goodvibes , get's debriefed :grouphug: , and lists all their plans for using their newly swiped pirate: booty (that didn't sound good  ). Hope this helps :thumbsup2
.

Swiping 101 :tiptoe:

Hey Jaq I am in the same boat. bit** We play hockey in Canada so I have to go out and spend lots of money on passports just to go 10 minutes away from home. Bites. In our gov. site it says we have to have a passport to drive over to Canada by Jan. 2008. To fly by sometime in 2007. What is this world coming to?

WHIMPY -- we actually have a restaurant here called Whimpy's. The burgers are not boiled <phew> but damn those things are so huge we need to share them. Sooo good! They also make the best poutine I have ever eaten. Now I am hungry and that is not fair since I can't afford to even borrow then pay back! :lmao:

For all of you that will, please send prayers & postive thoughts to 2 of my friends. One has cancer real bad and the docs told her even with surgery & chemo, she may only have 4-5 months. She and her hubby have decided the best for her is to go homopathic. She is weak but has hope that she will come through this and be able to testify to God's goodness.

My other friend had a procedure done by her GYN in May and was still having problems. she went to her reg doc, who is also an OB and found out from the reports that the area remove was cancerous. She wasn't told and this has put her & he hubby in shock. They did more tests to see if it has been removed and she will know in 2 weeks.

Both of these ladies and their families are very dear to me and I would just like you to remember them and send them postive thoughts.

Thanks family!

I will be adding your friends in our prayer.

We used to go over to Windsor so my friends could drink legally....way back when...all you had to do then was look the customs people in the eye and swear you were a U.S. citizen. Never would have even thought to have a passport now to go over to Canada, but I guess I will now...

here's how my day went .

dobe wouldn't sleep last night. stinkerbelle woke up in middle of night then fell out of bed coming to our room. we ended up keeping her home sick i stayed home too--thankfully!!!

all went well at the docs.

dh went to pick up oldest 2 then stop by the store on way home before heading 2 work.

dh called me, he forgot to go to store on way home so made a u turn & ended up with a flat tire--badly slashed flat tire. He ended changing it & came home.

His spare was low so he decided to use my van. Not even 5 mins after he left the house (I had just logged onto the DIS), he calls me. He was sitting at a light & got rearended. He was the fourth car to get hit & luckily he didn't hit anyone in front of him. My mom, Brandon, & Stinkerbelle had gone to the store, so she stopped by there on the way home. They were gonna take him to the ER so she came & got me so I could go too, also so they wouldn't tow the van. Thankfully the bumper is messed up & the door has some dents, but it is fine (this is our family car-- as in roads trips & any family venture).

When I got to the accident he was in the ambulance, but was refusing to go to the hospital. Ended up going ourselves after the cops released our car. Had to go to one way out of the way because ALL of the hospitals were jumping--even that one. He ended up with just major bruising. Oh & a cut neck. The city emts were taking care of him & put the neck brace on upside down--DUH! Luckily the county emts came to take over since the city already had another patient from the accident. Total 4 people in accident & all went to the same hospital. Have to get car tire fixed & van put in shop tomorrow.

Then at the ER ran into former BFF. Haven't spoken to this girl in over 20 years, we can't stand each other. Well she got mad at me for something that never happened than badmouthed me forever after. Thankfully we got waited on before she started work or she would have burried us on the bottom of the pile.

Then thinking things couldn't get any worse was reading newspaper to kill time, found out an old friend of the family died & was having a viewing tmorrow & burial Sat. Sheeesh luckily that seemed to end the bad luck streak of today, but I was sooooo afraid to drive home with that streak. :rotfl:

Ok sorry for the rant, but I figure I'd make you all feel better about your day today! ;)

Just wanted to add that Dobie has his brand new Lime green sleeper on! ;)

Wow, to say that day "sucks" is an understatement! I hope your DH wasn't too bad off, today. They say the stiffness and pain sets in the day or two after...good thoughts coming from down here in Savannah! :goodvibes sor sorry about your friend's passing...I bet you were so glad to get into bed and pull the covers up over your head!

Hope today was better!
