This has got to be the longest dad-gum thread I've ever seen!

(BTW. . .Dad-Gum = Southern Thing. . .or a Mater Thing!) :teeth:

This isn't the longest thread on these boards though...
the mighty DISUNC is a player.. he's major in the other thread too.

DisUnc, ever since I was a lurker on these boards, I've secretly admired your absolutely perfect shade of lime green hair. And Ozzie Osbourne has nothing on the way you wear your shades. I only wish I had the courage to pull off a chili bowl the way you do. I can't keep it a secret any longer: You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration. :teeth:

BTW... WELCOME! :welcome:

From this post you seem like you'll fit right in ;)

My Grandmother was the epidome of little old lady! Always got dressed up for a doctors appointment, wore her hat with hair pin...saved tin foil for re use....Made EVERYTHING from scratch...incuding Bread & cakes...ALWAYS.
Very much a Church lady, belonged to the Holy Rosary society etc.

She always wrote letters to the editors of all the newspapers in regards to Dirty park bathrooms, bus service for the elderly...etc.

Her ALL time Favorite show was Saturday Night Live! She LOVED it....we always called her Emily Litella! She loved that too!

:goodvibes awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I love sweet memories! And this one made me laugh AND think of my dad.....he was SUCH an old southern gentleman - and like your grandmother wrote MANY a disgruntled letter... Everything, to him, seemed to be "shameful" or (my personal favorite) "disgraceful." But like your sweet green haired granny, he loved SNL and, much more scarry than that, Monty Python and Benny Hill (!!!)
I guess tv let their wild-side come out?

Me Too...Macross....Good luck on your first day tomorrow.

Awww!! Thanks guys!!!

Didn't sleep well last night, but I've had my Chai tea already this morning with a nice big dose of Sudafed and Tylenol, so I should be good until lunch, when I'll repeat the process!! :thumbsup2 Normally, I shy away from taking drugs, but there are times when you just gotta do what you gotta do!! :rotfl:

And, I figure if my day goes horribly, I can always indulge in a little retail therapy at HD!! ;)

Well good luck on the 9000 post everyone I am off to bed. Sweet lime green dreams to all. Man is Cyn gonna be busy when she gets back. 8000 now 9000 at least mroakie will have the prize for the 10000 post. Hope he remembers to get a pic to post.

I'm hoping to get a picture of the sofa and loveseat when I go back to visit my customer. I hope they haven't sold it. Why anyone but a Limey would want that sofa is beyond my comprehension :lmao: I'll have to borrow my wifes camera phone the day I go back. Since my route only takes me back to a customer once every 2 weeks, I'm sure y'all will pass the 10,000 mark before I get the picture :sad2:

Gilda Radnor played the character Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live during the 70's! She was EXCEPTIONALLY HYSTERICAL!

Emily Litella always offered commentary on the news portion of the show. She always got the story wrong...and after getting yelled at by the Jane Curtin anchor woman every week for getting the story wrong....Emily's response was always ...."Never Mind"!!!!

Gilda made a couple of movies also, Her best was 'Woman in Red'! She passed away way too early in life a victim of ovarian cancer. She wrote a very funny heartwarming tale of a battle with Cancer in the book.."It's Always Something" (another Emily Litella phrase). She was married to actor Gene Wilder. He started Gildas House, these are houses all over the world, where woman with ovarian cancer go to for help & support.

WOW DISUNC has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much time on his hands.

Sooo...how many more posts do I need in order to learn the Dis Boards Secret handshake?

:welcome: :welcome:

Where do you go to school?

How lucky you are to have an "insider" at Home Depot!! :thumbsup2
