I have to get in on this Emily Litella thing....oh how I loved that skit. She would come on to give commentary during the news report segment, about some topic that meant a LOT to her (always based on a word play - misunderstanding of what some current phrase meant)....say "Violins in America" (my not be the exact title - but I kind of remember it casue I played the violin at the time...) She was SO passionate about the topic ex. "what's wrong with violins in Amercia, shouldnt we be encouraging children to play a musical instrument????" (but MUCH funnier than that...) She'd rant and rave unil the announcer (Jane Curtain) couldnt stand it anymore and would correct his misundertanding....to which she'd calmly reply....'nevermind' (but sometimes she'd aslo call her a nasty, witch-like word under her breath,,,, which was QUITE radical in the 70's. GREAT SUFF!!! :goodvibes

Gilda Radnor played the character Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live during the 70's! She was EXCEPTIONALLY HYSTERICAL!

Emily Litella always offered commentary on the news portion of the show. She always got the story wrong...and after getting yelled at by the Jane Curtin anchor woman every week for getting the story wrong....Emily's response was always ...."Never Mind"!!!!

Gilda made a couple of movies also, Her best was 'Woman in Red'! She passed away way too early in life a victim of ovarian cancer. She wrote a very funny heartwarming tale of a battle with Cancer in the book.."It's Always Something" (another Emily Litella phrase). She was married to actor Gene Wilder. He started Gildas House, these are houses all over the world, where woman with ovarian cancer go to for help & support.

Gilda was great I think "it's always something..." Was from her Roseanne Roseanna Adanna. Who was my mothers favorite SNL charactor. :rotfl2: :happytv:

Yes definately funny. We really have to watch what we say now because our 2 little ones will repeat or do anything you tell them. We do have fun sometimes.

They hatch on the first of the month to reveal something. Taralee4 has some (2 dragons and a toaster plus her egg waiting to hatch) Lizzy has a pink box from her last egg. There is no telling before they hatch as to what will be in them. To adopt an egg just click on one you see to go to the egg website. There are instruction at the site as to how to adopt them. :thumbsup2
