Wow I have never heard of that. What causes it?

As far as I know they still don't know what causes it. I believe mine was brought on by stress. Ummm, it seems like a certain teenager was busted in a car full of alcohol with some guys her & her friend ummmm kindly gave a ride to. Yeah that's what happened. I was TERRRIFIIIEEEED to tell my parents. We were realeased with a citation & we went to another friend's house who made me call my mom to come get me. I was so terrified at what my dad would do my mom was actually relieved when I told her what happened--she thought I had been raped or something. Anyway it was not long after that that the bells pausey happened.

It was thought at the time that only pregnant women got it, I'm guessing from being so pregnant like something was pressing on their nerves. Basically it usually happens in the face only where you're whole side gets paralized. You might get full use back, you might never get use back. There is nothing they can do for you. It's horrible because it effects everything. You can't blink, you can't drink w/o spilling. I have heard some people have gotten down the whole side. Worst part was I was a senior in high school. Talk about embarrassing.

DisUnc...it must have been reruns of Family Affair. God I loved that show. Mr. French...what a guy!!!!

Also...a little hint, if you are trying to do cooler things this year at WDW, Tom Sawyers Island might not be the thing. Yes there's shade, but no air conditioning anywhere that I can remember. I guess you could sit in the cave.

That had to be terrifying! Is it something that you are just prone to, and will re-occur? That's awful.

Like I said I don't know. I don't think they know that much about it. I was very surprised when I got it again, but knew right away what it was. I got it right before Christmas. Again it was only 1/2 of my face.

A friend found a cool web site for me " Braintalk.org " great site. It was a chat board. Again the drs didn't have anything that they could do for me. On that site people were talking about a certain vitamin they would take. I had to order it over the internet becaue I couldn't find it any where else. That's the only thing that helped me. I was afraid my face was never going to come back to use.

My poor dh felt so bad, but he kept depressing me because he kept telling me how sorry he was. I kept telling him to stop doing that because he was making me feel bad. My poor dd Angel was so upset. She would always ask me when I was going to get my smile back. In the first couple of days my mom brought home a patch to see if it would help my eye. While I was trying it on Angel came in & said " Cool mommy, now say Arg, I'm a pirate!" Funny girl.

I remember doing that too! The first time I went, I was scared of all these weird people standing around waiting to get in (I led a relatively sheltered existence up to that point!). When the show started, I was HOOKED!!

Me too I would never let my mom go. She wasn't too happy when she finally saw it years later on tv. She only let me go because I was with my older brothers.

The most exciting part is when he's coming down in the elevator & you get to see him for the first time! I remember doing the time warp.....

I just had a weird meltdown here. Not me....my nephew...he has been up since 6:00am......had a F?V moolatee....yaking up a storm....froends dropped by...he was fighting with their daughter......and then he was HYSTERICAL cause we aint flying FIRST CLASS!
Get a load of him!....I'm all excited that we got 79.00 direct flight....and he wants First class. Didn't even knew that he knew about First Class!

I don't know how you first saw it, I'm guessing at your house. This is a movie definitly meant to be watched with a crowd. We used to go to our local movie theater at midnight to watch it. Of course we would take all the essentials-- t-paper, cards, bells, rice, & toast. Ah, it was lots of fun. I always loved the singing too.

Yeah, when I got it, my mom had to do the actual transaction, I was about to go pay whwenI realized it was rated R, and I might have a job of conving the clerk I was 18.

Well it worked out great because my parents felt so sorry for me I never got it trouble for the citation. It was really cool because we had to go before an arbitrator. The guy recognized our last name. Apparently he used to hang around with one of my cousins when they were younger. He was going to let us off, but he just "HAD" to give us something because they had changed the law (that's what he claimed). Anyway me & my friends all had to do 25 hrs of community service. We worked it off at the soup kitchen in my church. It took forever!
