My first job was at the airport gift shops. Man was that cool. Met lots of Celebs. Especially Sports teams and players. Met MC Hammer; Sonny Bono; Richard Simmons; My favorite was the Seattle Mariners ( I didn't even know who they were I just thought cool a bunch of guys to flirt with)

I met Sonny Bono, too. DH and I (DBF at the time ) were in LA for a vacation. We decided to go to his restaurant on Melrose Ave. Walked into the lobby, there he sat, chatting with someone. DH, who is never one to pass up an opportunity, walks up, introduces us and says we are in from Detroit and wanted to eat at his restaurant. He very politely said that was great, and here is my daughter Chastity to seat you.. ?? (Apparantly trying to teach the kid something about work? She was about 20 ish) She walked us to the table, asked if we wanted a wine list and dropped it on DH's plate from about 18 inches up...she wasn't too thrilled for the life lesson, I guess. afterward we got Sonny's autograph on a napkin ring.

After that we were driving back to the hotel, and we passed KOALA Blue, Olivia Newton John's now defunct Australian store. We stopped, there was quite a commotion. She was hosting a party for the Australian Olympic team (it was right before the 1985 Olympics). We saw going in...Paul Stanley sans makeup with Lisa Hartman..(boy talk about beauty and the beast), Tony Danza, Rachel Ward, Olivia Newton John, more I can't think of..

Whenever DH goes anywhere, he spots celebrities. NYC, expecially..he can pick them out of a crowd. The only one I ever spotted on the street was the guy who played Jim Dial on Murphy Brown, and that's only because I heard his voice first...

Oh, and when we were seeing the David Letterman show, that really creepy guy with the red hair came up to me before the show and started flirting with me...I guess because I have red hair too..ewww.

Glad this isn't my test. I only watched 1/2 of these shows. Loved Carol Burnett.

Here's a quiz for you DisUnc. Can you identify these songs from the 1st coupls of lyrics?:

1)Steve walks wearily down the street
With his brim pulled way down low
Ain’t no sound, but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go.

2)Everytime that I look in the mirror
All of these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn.

3)In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines.

4)Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a kind face
Anybody could be that guy.

5)I met her in a club down I old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola
Coca-cola
C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.

6)You show us everything you’ve got
You keep on dancing and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy

Im horrible with music!
1?
2?
3 Yellow submarine! Beatles Fan here...and that was the 60's!
4 Dancing Queen
5)?
6)?

Failed miserably!

How about this classic. WHERE'S THE BEEF?
LOL, I was a vegetarian at the time that one came out, so I didn't CARE where the beef was...I just wanted to smack that old broad. :thumbsup2

i said I was a vegetarian, doesn't mean I was a pacifist.

Get a bucket of chicken, its finger licking good

You deserve a break today so get up & on your way

Do you know who wrote them?!?!?

Dont remeber the levis!
Barry manilow!

I don't know them all, but again I say I'm 14, so that's not all that bad. I'll post my own oldies quiz later.
You did better than me...and I am 5 years older than you!

Last week I took my DD's to Mickey D's to get them the POTC2 Happy Meal. DD4's had the plush Capt Jack doll, but DD11's DIDN'T HAVE ANY TOY AT ALL!!!!!!! She was so sad that DD4 gave DD11 her doll and told her not to worry, that we would go back soon and get another one! I just love my girls when they share nicely!!

so sorry for DD11, and so proud of DD4!! I ALWAYS inspect the HM's right there at the drive thru window..Yep, that's me, making sure my kids have a toy...and not just ANY toy, they have to be the same..(we have a little competivness going on here and if one kid got a cool toy, and one got a lame one....welll..) And it never fails...when i do check them, they are fine...if I forget to check...it's back in the line for the toy..

JOHN F. KENNEDY, JUNYAH! Do tell! :listen:

There's a whole thread on celebrity sightings somewhere on the board. I kept thinking of more every time I read it.

YUP! We use to hang out at the same bar in the WTC when he was working for the NY DA's office!

Long story ...no time...to tell!

Cool I love John Stamos. He seems like a cool guy. You probably would've gotten to WDW a lot sooner with him! ;) :rotfl:

He used to be "Blackie" on General Hospital...His hair was hangin' in his eyes back then, too.

Waaaaay back when I was in college, I worked at a live theater as a stage hand. We had many shows come in, and Cal State Fullerton did a intermission series of one woman shows. I met Della Reese, Julie Harris and Elvira (Mistress of the Dark). The most impressive celebrity in this series though was Rita Moreno. This has to be the most beautiful celebrity I have ever met, inside and out. She was so gracious and thankful for every little thing me and my fellow stage hands did. Even after the show, while we were cleaning up the theater, she and her husband came out on the stage and she thanked us again for doing such a good job and told us that she couldn't have had such a good show without us. What a wonderful lady.
