I'm a soft-sale (soft cell...tainted love) for girl scout cookies. Stick 'em in the freezer & you're good to go all year. Frozen Thin Mints are to die for. Still got the shortbreads floating around.

KSC was very interesting IMO. I was begrudingly drug away from the motherland by my family; so shocked that I enjoyed it. Especially, the up close tour. We got to see a rocket launch last June, drove over to Port Canaveral Jetty Park. Snuck in a swim in the ocean then joined the jovial crowd for the festivites. Cool to watch the coast guard & helicopter chase folks out of the no fly zone. People were arguing with them...never question a man in a uniform with a gun.;)

Good luck w/August meet...I looked forward to returning to resort/pool each day in June when it was in the low to mid 90's with average 94% humidity...didn't think it could get that humid w/o being underwater. Where I live we're lucky if we get 2 or 3 days that hit 90 each year. We're happy to get sunshine every now & then.

Oh. so now I have to tell everyone I'm dieting, too? As if the shame of failure of keeping up an exercise program that is probably doomed from the start isn't hard enough, now I have to share my diet with you guys, too??

Ok.

Here it is.

I pledge to lose at least 15 pounds by Christmas..nevermind that this will be raging during my favorite candy holiday (Halloween), my favorite fattening-foods-with-butter-all-over-everything holiday (Thanksgivng) and my favorite baking/cookie holiday (Christmas.).....this will be my final "arguement" for my DH to give in and go willingly to WDW. "But I lost 15 pounds to go to WDW-just for you!"

I started today...I was even going to give my boys my secret stash of chocolate, but I left it on the table last night and they ate it when I wasn't looking... :furious: I dunno about you guys, I love my boys, but there are some things I just don't share...with anybody...chocolate is at the top of my list!!
Don't worry I have my own candy stash too. Like you said Love those kids but don't mess with the Candy!!!!!!!! Teresa

Yep, they will eat anything made out of sugar, heck they will eat sugar if they can get it. I figure they could never appreciate good chocolate, which is what I hide. I don't feel bad about it at all... Kinda like an alcoholic, hiding my chocolate where no one would look. Except up in the light fixture...too messy... :cool1:

. I know they will have a great time here...

Thanks, they are really excited to come & have a really tight schedule. They will be going to Juliette Lowe's birthplace, Tybee Island, Mrs Smith's restaurant (I forget the name), Pirate Island. I forget the exact name's, but hopefully you know what I mean. I will tell them to be careful--thanks.

Just stopping in today! Lotsa to do! Going to see POC2 in da Drive in tonight!!!!!!

DisUnc, hope you like it, we saw it Sat. night at our drive--in! I love to hear people say they go to drive-ins. :thumbsup2 Our drive-in is the last one in our state. :sad2:

$90 registration fee for the Disney Marathon...well, there's another dream crushed. why on earth did I think that ANYTHING at WDW would be cheap??

Bummer! :(

Tybee Island is where the beaches are..nice beaches, fairly clean. One has a fort and a lighthouse to go in, pretty cool. I don't know about Pirate Island, but there is a restaurant called the Pirate House. It is supposedly connected to the river by an underground tunnel, and the pirates used it as a "safe house" to bring their booty in to. Pretty good food, fairly expensive. I haven't heard of Mrs. Smith's restaurant either, but I don't get out much...like not at all.... :rotfl: unless you call a Sunday matinee of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with DH, DS6 and DS8 getting out.. :rotfl: anywho...they must have scheduled a meal at Paul Dean's (Food Network) Lady and Sons restaurant. I have been meaning to go there to see what all the fuss is about..there is always a longgggg line out the front door.

If they have time to read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" or rent the movie, they should..Lady Chablis DOES exist, in fact he/she plays himself in the movie. A lot of landmarks, and insights into the quirkiness of this town. The Mercer house stands on one of the squares as a museum now, I believe. Johnny Mercer lived here, and I swear a couple of months ago, I crossed "Moon River"-don't know if that was "his" "Moon River" or not...my favorite song.

gotta go now, it's late and time for beddie bye..night...

I'll be gone the 15-21 or 22, I think I;ve posted this, but I have nothing else to say. :lmao:

Hi everyone from Sickbay. We haven't floated away yet although it is raining again today. Ds 2 all better. Ds 1 was still pretty feverish today. Had to actually take him to work with me and stash him in a little room with a vcr and movies and an easy chair. What a man in training. Nobody even knew he was there. His fever got pretty high today 104.6 and I was really struggling with his dr's office nurse. (BTW i'm a nurse also). She wanted me to just watch him for another 2 days and call Wed if he's not better (not). Finally got him in and guess what he has strep throat also just without any symptoms like a sore throat. Hopefully he'll be back to normal tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well.

HRH I think you should go for it. :cheer2:

Jersey Welcome to the :dance3:

Hi to everyone else. I'll try and read through the posts a little more closely later after I get boys to bed.

Hoping to get some sleep tonight. Snuggling these sick boys is no way to be rested.

I can't remember who went to poc with young boys. How was it? How did they do. I was reading a post about the movie and surprised that there weren't more younger kids going to the movie. I am aware of the rating. My boys loved the first and would be devasted if they couldn't go. I understand it is slightly more scary than the first. My boys weren't scared at all by the first so if that is the main difference I think they would do fine but would like to hear from others who have taken younger boys.

I just got back from Hollywood. Went to see POTC II at the El Capitan Theater. Great movie and GREAT preshow. I'm behind reading the posts, but loved the man rules.

The International Rules of Manhood

2: It is OK for a man to cry ONLY under the following circumstances: When she is using her teeth.

Just in our local news: a man called the police on his girlfriend for biting him on the bicep. I said to DH, "I like biting your bicep, but NEVER in anger!"

8: On a road trip, the strongest bladder determines pit stops, not the weakest.
Gross!

17: A man in the company of a hot, suggestively dressed woman must remain sober enough to fight.

This is why DH never drinks!

22: Never talk to a man in a bathroom unless you are on equal footing: i.e., both urinating, both waiting in line, etc. For all other situations, an almost imperceptible nod is all the conversation you need.
And DON'T turn to face him!

25: It is acceptable for you to drive her car. It is not acceptable for her to drive yours.
If he follows rule 8, we wouldn't want to drive his car!
26: Thou shalt not buy a car in the colors of brown, pink, lime green(WHAT????), orange or sky blue.
DisUnc gets a special dispensation.

28: There is no reason for guys to watch Ice Skating or Men's Gymnastics. Ever.
That's not what they say about women's ice skating on the Man Show.

I'm sorry I can't make it to the meet 08/07, but we can only make the X-country trip every 3-4 years.:sad2:

:scratchin We're staying at a Value and one of the things they said to get was a curian type thing and a small extension rod so you can put it up between the room and the bathroom so those that want to sleep can do so and not be "blinded by the light!" :goodvibes

Umm..no..why?

Because you said you were going to the beach, and I think you said you live in SC...ergo...Myrtle Beach..

I think it is a requirement of residency for a family living in SC to go to MB during the month of July...

I used tp live in Greenville..the textile mills would close over 4th of July week and EVERYONE headed east...you probably don't remember the textile mills, they have been farmed out to Asia a long, long time ago...sorry, don't mean to get political here... :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
