Last Inauguration day, it was "supposed" to snow. DD's school system did the automated thing saying they were not going to have school. It wasn't snowing the night before, as a matter of fact, we didnt have rain the next day.
Then this year, we had snow, no snow days built in-smart, but we might next year. Anyway, Students were all ready out on a Monday for Teacher staff day, then they were out for 2 more days. The night before the last day off, the school system took their time about saying if the kids were off. Snow was off the main roads , however slush had frozen over the night before.
Several other cities had called into news saying they weren't going to open becaus it was still dangerous especially the secondary and other roads that don't get plowed.
OUr school system finally made a decision quicker then they said they would, but i think part of it was to save face after all these other cities school leaders were actually on the news talking about it.
