Our resale purchasing experience

Since this is an often asked about topic (Goodness knows I asked about it enough!!), I figured I'd give an overview of our experience.

We went through **** and Jaki at DVC resales - They were terrific to work with!!! (TimeShare Store just didn't have the contract we were looking for - They were wonderful while we were looking though!!)
We put in an offer and had it accepted the same day.
After initial paperwork was processed, offer went to Disney one week later.
We passed ROFR 25 days later and got our closing paperwork within 48 hours.
Once that went through (about another week), we were able to make a reservation within another week.
Soooo, start to finish (offer to reservation) was just shy of 6 weeks!!! Not bad if you ask me!!

One more thing (since choice of Home Resort comes up often)....
We bought at SSR.....Made our reservation a few days ago and got rooms at VWL for Marathon week in January (although we have to juggle between a studio and 1 BR)......VWL was our '1st choice' to buy at but we wanted the extra years that were on the SSR contracts - We're thrilled we were able to get another resort just 4 months out!!! Food for thought!!

We did not try - We paid 'cash' for it since it was a smaller resale...I'm sure they can help you with financing options though!!

Thanks for the description. We just received our closing paperwork today. Good to know we might be in the Disney system in the next week or so! Also, we're looking to book in January for 4 families, so our fingers are crossed that rooms will be open. If not - uh oh!

It's good to know. We're a week into our add on buying experience with Jaki and ****.
