Our resale experience...very happy ending!

Just thought I would share our experience of the past month with others here since this board helped us SO MUCH throughout the process.

We were dealing with both major resale agencies for about a month and had many contracts offered to us in our desired point range/home resort (BWV). Offered and lost out on a few (word of warning for those going the resale route - BE READY TO JUMP if it's the "right contract"!) Bidding is quick and fierce out there right now, but remember - everything is still negotiable! In the end, the "right one" came through Jaki Apetz (A Timeshare Broker) and I cannot say enough good things about her...thanks Ed T for the referral! We got seller to pay half of the closing costs. From accepted offer to closing and in Disney's system was less than 4 weeks with Jaki keeping us very informed all the way (including one of those weeks where we were kind of "home" at BWV with rented points).

Just made our first ressies this morning - Melanie in MS was fantastic! Going on the 7-day cruise next year with 2 nights after home at BWV. Now I just have to sit and read the boards for the next 10 months and pretend I'm on vacation!

You're the first person I've been able to say "Welcome Home" to. I'm very happy for you that your resale came through. Ed T is very helpful, isn't he, as is everyone on this board. He gave us some good advice about buying through Jaki, but we needed Disney financing. Hope you have many happy years of Disney experiences!

I just read that you were able to refer the previous poster to a resale place. We have been waiting and waiting to buy resale for BWV and nothing has come through A Timeshare Store. Is there somewhere else that I can go to? We really are ready and are just waiting for one to come along with in our point range?? Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

I'm not sure if I can officially welcome you home if I haven't been welcomed home yet! I think we closed on our BWV resale today. Unfortunately, ours took 8 weeks and that included paying an extra $45 to rush the closing! I shouldn't complain because we got our points for $61/pp and got 95 banked points from 2000. To that end...

Shell: We used Century 21 timeshare resales in Orlando. They have a website. If you end up using them, just be VERY clear that you expect all documents between you and them and them and the seller to be expedited! Good Luck.
