We were in WDW for our daughter's fall break this past weekend. This was our first visit since FP+ was introduced, and as infuriating as it can be when it comes to planning, the combination of FP+, rope drop, and riding rides during parades or fireworks (especially during two MNSSHP nights) worked out surprisingly well for us. Despite it being a holiday weekend, we never waited more than 30 minutes for a ride and rarely more than 20. The ONLY ride that we couldn't seem to make work was Test Track at Epcot. The crowds of Food & Wine, the tiered FP+ system, and the fact that EPCOT was always an afternoon visit for us worked against us. So, during our last evening (Monday) we had dinner reservations at Chefs de France and decided that we'd keep track of wait times and just try to get on either before or after dinner. At 5:00, wait time was 50 min. We considered doing single rider, but my daughter really wanted to design our car so we figured we'd just accept that this would be our one long wait time during an otherwise great visit. Then, as the three of us entered the stand-by line, a woman came rushing up to us and said, "Excuse me, we have this fastpass that we won't use. Can you use it? It's for three people." And she handed me a Rider Switch fast pass.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I would have hugged her but I was afraid she'd think I was creepy. We all thanked her endlessly and had a blast on the ride. My husband said, "Well, that was lucky."
I said, "No, that was pixie dust."
