Our (personal) stroller went missing today

I'm so disheartened by our Epcot visit today. While we parked our stroller in the designated stroller area in canada today , a total of 15 min while we got our passport stamps, it went missing. I'm about 99% it was stroller as it was not a common stroller and there was only 1 stroller parked there. We were told to wait , then told to go to guest relations. The security guard scribbled ( literally) some of our info down and that's it. I'm not hopeful. Luckily I know better than to leave anything high value in there, but we did loose a high end backpack and our souvineers. Is there anything we can do besides cross our fingers? We leave on Friday !! What is wrong with people that they would take someone's stroller!

Not that I can think of. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes.

People suck. :(

I hope you get it back, but truth be told, there's just too many people in the parks... You might have to deal with the loss of it. Sadly, there are scumbags everywhere. Even the happiest place on earth.

I'm sorry..that stinks! It's sad that almost on a daily basis I hear or see things that makes me shake my head and say "what is wrong with people?!" WE had someone take our park rental stroller more than once and that was very disheartening. I can only imagine how you feel. Don't let them ruin your trip...someday it will catch up with them.

Unfortunately WDW doesn't really exist in a parallel universe. Theft happens every day. Best case scenario: they abandon the stroller at the end of the day. But you can most likely kiss your high end backpack and souvenirs goodbye. Just keep checking in with lost and found daily for the rest of your trip.

On your next visit, you might want to consider getting a cheap umbrella stroller. And not leaving any backpacks or bags unattended in the stroller.

I hope the person that took it somehow runs across this thread so that they can read what a low-life they are.

Seriously? What is wrong with people. That is about as pathetic as it gets.

I would check back with security/guest relations tomorrow, maybe they just wanted to check the bag for valuables and then left the stroller somewhere.

I'm so sorry that your stroller was taken. Years ago...when our sons were babies and renting strollers was cheap...we had our rented strollers taken time after time. We had a big sign with our name on the strollers but "thieves" would take them and we would have to make the trip back to the front of the park to report it stolen and to get a replacement. It happened three times at Epcot one day alone. My cousin told me that I should leave a "messy" diaper on the seat to deter a would be thief...didn't do it lol. It is horrible that it was your personal stroller. Did you check lost in found in case someone decided to just leave it in the park after they were done for the day? You never know...

That's what I'm hoping for!! I called lost and found they said I need to check back tomorrow with them. I thought my old creaky Stroller would be safe, hopefully they either took it for a ride or noticed nothing but crumbs and half drank water bottles were inside and left it. It's honestly the worst feeling, like I have no faith in humanity. Worse than losing the material goods :( thanks for the kind words !

I can empathize because it happened to us years ago at 6 Flags Dallas.
It was the first day of a week trip, our last kid, and we had 2 other strollers at home--really did not want to buy another one, but had to for the trip.
We went to Walmart and got a cheap umbrella stroller.
The security at the park told us often people "borrow" them when their kids are tired of walking and at park closing they push them to the entrance and leave them.
Maybe yours will be found. Disney lost and found does not match things up well. I had something disappear on a trip and it was not found despite me calling daily there and a few days from home. A few months later we were back and they found it for me. Go in person rather than call.
Hope the rest of your trip is amazing and that your things are found.

Since you checked with CMs, this is unlikely but Disney is famous for moving strollers. You leave it in a designated space at the start of an attraction, then come back and it's been moved to the end, or somewhere other then where you left it. Why, I'm not sure.

Someone could have accidentally grabbed it, thinking it was their personal stroller, then left it when they discovered it. (Hope so!)

Someone could have purposely grabbed it, then left it at the park gates.

I second the thought to bring a cheap stroller - and the Unofficial Guide used to recommend (and we would do so) putting a cloth diaper, lightly dipped in a cola beverage, then encased in a baggie, and affixing it to the stroller handle. Harmless, offensive looking but not really gross, and believe me, no one will touch your stroller. :rotfl:

I can't believe how often I (still) see this on here...including twice in this thread.

This idea makes no sense. There are trash cans every ten feet at Disney World. Nobody would ever have a dirty diaper sitting on a stroller. It's like a joke idea that some author thought of and put in a book to se if anyone would take it seriously...and people do!

Apparently the fake messy diaper wasn't the author's idea; a reader of an earlier edition of the book submitted it.

It may be a joke idea, but I do think it would deter any potential stroller thieves. Nobody's going to want to check to make sure.

OP, sorry your stroller was swiped. Hopefully it turns up at Lost and Found.

Sorry to hear this.. definitely check with the park and lost and found (central) before you leave. Best case scenario it was moved by a CM but unlikely based on your description of the area.

We rent from an outside company and pay the $25 insurance so if it goes missing we don't have to worry about it. I also have a stroller tag made on here and we laminate it and affix it with zipties. Seems a little overboard but I hope that someone will see all that and move on.

I have my fingers crossed for you to find it!

I'm sorry you had this experience. Please keep us posted, and as others have noted, go to Guest Services daily IN PERSON. Seems to make a difference.

So sorry. We rented from the park and the rental went missing twice. We looked everywhere for it and had a bright stroller tag and ribbon tied on... I hope they find yours.

I'm well past the point of strollers (fingers crossed) at least until (if) my daughter has kids (once she is in her 30's, has finished university and is established in her career as a dentist) - but always wondered if it was worth carrying a bike lock which you could run through the wheels when you park the stroller in the designated spots. Theoretically, your stroller is less likely to get stolen if a thief can't get the wheels to turn.

So sorry you have experienced this and you are right.....people do SUCK.

The PPs idea of the bike lock through the wheels sounds like a good idea! Our kids are now too old for strollers, but I would have tried that idea when they were young.

Hope it turns up for you! And I hope the person that took it loses all their FPs and is unable to book any in their place. :)

I hope you find your stroller. Sadly, this has been happening for years. My brother and sister-in-law had their personal stroller stolen years ago in MK. They had some personal stuff stolen with it, but luckily not anything as expensive as your things. They never brought another stroller again, just rented one after that. I always tell people to either rent one there or as others said, get a cheap one to use. Also never leave anything valuable in it. It really does stink, but the reality is that Disney is just like anywhere else. Again, I hope you get your things back.
